TGIF, Christmas friends!

It really stormed for about 15 minutes yesterday afternoon, with trees down and power outages. Luckily, we didn't have any problems in Bellville.

We're taking my mom out to dinner for her birthday Saturday, then I'm back in D.C. all next week at a conference.

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

Happy Birthday to your mom!
Have a fun and safe trip to D.C.!

Happy 1st Weekend of Summer MMC! A beautiful day expected here. We've had about 5 or 6 straight beautiful Saturdays in a row. I love it. Going to enjoy it and be outside as much as possible this weekend. Only a 2 day work week to follow for me as I'm off after Tuesday. My "Summer Vacation" stretch begins then where I'll be off a bunch of days over the next 5 weeks. Have a great 1st Weekend of Summer!

Up and at it early got my merry mojo working.
Had a hard time getting to sleep and staying asleep, but the cat let me sleep in until 4:45.

Wonder what he did when I wasn't home yesterday - likely nothing.

Beautiful weather for the weekend. No rain except for a sun shower the last 5 days so the sand is quite dusty and spins around and sends the pollen flying when the wind kicks in, but I'm enjoying the sunshine.

Just chatted with my other brother - I'll see him tonight for the first time since my husband passed away so that hug is long overdue.

Have a great weekend - I'll poke my head in tomorrow around dinner time.

Keep a merry thought in your head :shakeit

Happy Saturday!
My daughter won her softball game last night so we went out for pizza afterwards. And today my daughter has practice and then having a few girls over for a sleepover. We may do a fire tonight too and have s’mores. So nice to see the sun! Have a great day!

Good Morning!
Welcome to the weekend.
The first weekend of summer.
And the LAST weekend of the first half of our Christmas Day count!

The daily data briefing:
Days to the Season: 144
Days to Christmas Day: 186

And can we be down to just FOUR days to the HALF WAY marker to Christmas Day? Barely over HALF A WEEK??
Well it's true, Folks. Just check the chart. (It will make a believer out of you!)

The humidity was way down yesterday, and even though we got up into the mid 80's, it still felt refreshing. No rain until late last night.
Today will see a high in the low 80's, with about a one in five shot at precipitation.
Our weekend has commenced here in Raleigh at 70 degrees and it's still damp from the overnight rain.

Have a Sensational Saturday, Everybody.
And a really outstanding Weekend, too!

Hello and happy Saturday!

We had a beautiful weather day yesterday. It was in the 70s and sunny, the entire day! Of course today is back to cloudy and rain moving in. Oh well, it was nice to get outside a bit yesterday.

This evening my wife and I are headed to the comedy club to see Donnie Baker. We are excited to have a date night.

I hope everyone is having a great day!

Good Evening ... had a lovely Saturday. Perfect weather, got the windows opened enjoying the nice breeze. We picking for pie cherries and blueberries this morning, did some baking this afternoon - sugar cookies and the first batch of chocolate zucchini bread of the season. Going to a friends tonight for a couple drinks and a bon fire. Planning on making and canning cherry pie filling tomorrow. Hope everyone had a great day!

Good Saturday evening! It is a perfect Summer day but I was at work all day. At least the work day went by quickly and we got a lot done. Now we’re going for a little ride with the windows down and Loki enjoying the wind before we head back home for supper. Hope everyone has enjoyed a great day!

Morning all
Sorry for the absence but Friday was my husbands birthday - he is a solstice baby so we spent most the day out. I took him to breakfast and then he went shopping for new motorbike gloves so we visited 3 different shops before he found a pair he liked.....and men say that us girls are bad! Then had birthday pizza and cake when the kids got home. We cut the grass in the garden, husband took down a piece of decking he had outlayed as humungo pup keeps running into it now and we aired the tent overnight.
They were supposed to be camping away tonight but they got all packed up, left, rode on the motorbike to where they wanted to be and then my sons stomach started acting up so they were home by about 6 but they had a nice day together and enjoyed a little bbq whilst they were out. I think they are going to do that more often together now and just end up wherever the road takes them for some quality time together which is nice.
Meanwhile me and my little Holly bud spent the day making different loom band bracelets, visiting her grandma, playing in the park and walking the dog :-) the sun was shining too which was nice.
Today we are going to visit my sister and nieces so that will be good fun too.

Happy Summer All - yesterday was lovely with high temps and lots of sunshine so I am hoping for more of the same today but it looks a bit overcast at the minute. I think we are in for some nice sun all week though.

Have a great day all!

Merry Morning! -reindeer-

My dad and I returned last night instead of sleeping over and returning today as originally planned.

We had a great visit and a perfect family BBQ picnic in the back yard and then I thanked everyone for coming and offered a few words about my husband and his relationship with them. I passed out five personal items that he wanted me to pass along to specific people. His nephew cried softly when I gave him Gary's tie clip that he wore at our wedding and a few times since that day.

We watched the video that was made for his 70th birthday so we could remember part of a life well lived.

I was starting to get a bit emotional and decided to leave so I wouldn't change the focus.

I don't cry like I used to since I lost my mom and my husband, I find that I sob and I didn't want everyone feeling sorry for me.

I am happy that my husband had a great life although the last three years was difficult for him, he never stopped trying to take care of those around him even when he couldn't.

He was my best friend and I know I will have strong days and tearful ones and that's a good thing because it means that we had a wonderful relationship and I miss his physical presence in my life.

I heard a text tone and went to look at my phone and what I saw was information about Gary's hospital room; I must have pocket launched my NOTES page and that was the last entry. I cleared the image and saw the text from a co-worker, but that it interesting that the message popped up when I was on my way for the last organized "good bye celebration".

I know that it's perfectly fine and normal to grieve, I just prefer to do it when I'm alone so I can let the emotions flow and come to my smiling ways by recalling happy times instead of the sad and challenging last year of our life together.

My husband would be please that his nephew (and his girlfriend) made the trip to Ottawa to join us for a family celebration and proud of #1 son for making Terry feel so at home and welcome.

It was also good to see my brother. He and my dad and I were able to get caught up with each other and even recalled some family vacations and included a few memories of Gary.

All the grandchildren made it and that was important to me because I know how pleased Gary would be that we were all together. I had a variety of games to choose from and many of them were played like pick up sticks, jacks, tic-tac-toe and I even had fidget spinners and a deck of cards because he always enjoyed watching the grandchildren playing games and bonding together.

Got in just after midnight, spent some time with O'Malley cat and then went to bed. I will likely return shortly for a nap before heading out to run errands.

#2 son realized that the rings attached to the pillow that read, "The best part of memories is making them" consisted of my engagement ring and my husbands wedding band. That was my trigger that lead to my quick departure. I am still wearing my wedding band, but the sad reality that I'm a widow hit me hard.

I am hopeful that I will continue to honour and cherish our love and life together and I know we aren't finished sharing our stories and memories with each other.

The actor Jack Lemmon said, "Death ends a life, not the relationship." He was absolutely right and that statement carried me through the loss of my mom because even though she's gone, she will remain my mother. Down the road when I find myself in a new relationship, I know that Gary will always take up permanent residence in my heart and mind because we were soulmates and that will never change.

Happy 2nd Half of Summer Weekend MMC! Another beautiful day is predicted for the area. Been such a nice weekend. The warmer/hotter more humid weather is on it's way though this coming week. Well after-all it is summer. Haven't used the a/c a lot in June. Just going to try to be outside most of the day since it's so nice. Have a great 2nd Half of Summer Weekend!

Our drive - in has "Secret Life of Pets 2", "Godzilla: King of the Monsters", and "Ma". That's PG, PG - 13, and R rated films clumped together...Crazy, no?

That is a crazy clump together. We saw Life of Pets 2. It was good.

Good Sunday Morning, my Friends!
Rise, shine and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

And here's a good start-off:
Days to the Season: 143
Days to Christmas Day: 185

Now, a major Milestone is drawing near.
It's just 3 days away. That's UNDER half a week ahead of us.
And at that moment, we will be at the HALF WAY marker to Christmas Day 2019.
(We're almost there, Folks!)

Pretty nice here yesterday with the humidity down along with the temperatures. And we only had a very light rain.
For today, the weather service says we have a zero percent chance of precipitation and a predicted high of 81.
Starting our Weekend Part II, we read 71 degrees here on our thermometer.

Have a Super Sunday, Everyone!
