Christmas Countdown - 2019

Well today has been a mixed bag of sorts.

I spent some quality time out with my husband. We went out and mooched around a local outdoor pursuits store and looked at some tents.
Then nipped to a few local stores to look for some school uniform bits for our daughter Holly and I treated myself to some new bits and pieces. Then husband had a message that his parcel had been delivered so he was happy. He ordered himself a re-furbished Go Pro so he has a new toy to fiddle with.

I have finally had some good news too - Paypal have released me from PayPal jail so I can now use my account again! Woohoo!

It was slightly tarred though as I got home and my cousin text me that my uncle (her dad) had had a heart attack and was now in hospital. Im still waiting to hear how he is doing but it was tea time when she tried ringing last and I suspect the ward was busy and as I think its visiting hours now - I dont expect she will get an answer just yet but fingers crossed he is ok.

Tomorrow I am going with my mother in law to take her dog Lexi to the vets (she had a horrid experience last time - the vet was too rough and her dog turned and bit her in the face! so I have promised to go with her and in return she is going to wait for me to go and pick up my husbands birthday cake up. Its in the same street pretty much so will get two things done at once.

Also Angus the pupster has had his final jab and is now free to explore the world so look out, still cant control his legs full but is happily terrorising our other dog Nicky by stealing her toy slipper every chance he gets!

Praying that DS gets good news from the orthopedic doctor!

So far, so good! As far as my headaches, I hope so too. I haven't had this much trouble in so long. I think I am going to try to start taking some allergy medication (like a 24 hour med too), just to see, since it is a lot of sinus headache. DS got his cast off. He is good to go! Thanks for all the prayers!

It was a wet afternoon, and my lawn is getting out of control. I might start mowing at lunch today, just to get a jump on the afternoon rain.

Happy Friday and first day of summer!!
It is currently pouring out right now but it is supposed to dry out tonight. My youngest has her first all-star softball game tonight but I think it will dry out by then. No real plans for the weekend. My husband is playing in a golf tournament tomorrow and my youngest is having a few girls sleepover. Sunday should be a relaxing day.

Good morning all! Busy day today. Kids have their last day of STEM camp. We have to leave here shortly, to go see what they've been working on all week, then we're taking them to a local amusement park, which we have season passes for. We were hoping to do the waterpark, but it's a little chilly here today, so we'll see. This evening, we're going to the drive-in again. They're playing Toy Story 4 and Aladdin. Both great movies again, but it will be super late and I head back to work in the am from vacation, so I'm not sure if I'll make it for both - we'll see!

It really stormed for about 15 minutes yesterday afternoon, with trees down and power outages. Luckily, we didn't have any problems in Bellville.

We're taking my mom out to dinner for her birthday Saturday, then I'm back in D.C. all next week at a conference.

Happy Friday!
It’s going to be cloudy today with showers. I walked Rocky this morning and made it back just in time before the skies opened up. We’ve had so much rain this week. The weekend looks beautiful though, less humid with lots of sunshine. I have a typical day of errands and chores. My husband is meeting up with some friends tonight to play their guitars. It will just be me and my middle one, we’re going to grab Chipotle for dinner. Yay for not cooking! I hope everyone has a nice day and a great weekend ahead!!!

And the next pending Milestone marker, which just happens to be the HALF WAY point to Christmas Day?
Well Folks, that's now down to FIVE days away, believe it or not.
(I choose to believe it!)

More rain yesterday against the backdrop of a series of severe weather watches and warnings. Saw a few gusts of wind, one of which took down a tree branch, and our power was out for about 90 minutes but all in all, things went OK.
Today should be calm and storm-free, with a high in the upper 80's.
Presently, we are experiencing 72 degrees under sunny skies.

Good afternoon, rain and humidity finally left. Called my kids at home and told them to shut off the AC and open the windows. Hoping to be able to go picking cherries tomorrow morning to make cherry pie filling. Picking season for these cherries are very short so I praying there will be enough left tomorrow morning for me to get what I need. Have a great day!

Our drive - in has "Secret Life of Pets 2", "Godzilla: King of the Monsters", and "Ma". That's PG, PG - 13, and R rated films clumped together...Crazy, no?

The super-busy week comes to a close. I decided not to go to the Relay for Life event this year. This is the first time in 11 years, I have not participated in our local cancer fundraising event. I was really too tired to make it work and I still have a few things to prepare for the last formal Celebration of Life for my husband tomorrow.

During a meeting Thursday afternoon, I got hit with a moment of sudden exhaustion and I thought I was going to fall asleep. I excused myself for a moment and went and had a banana. I thought my blood sugar might have been a bit low as I didn't eat much for lunch.

I was returning to the meeting, it hit me; two months since my husband passed away. So, I pushed it away so I could continue with business as usual. Had a dinner out and walked to and from the restaurant with a colleague.

Got back to the hotel and watched Battleground an old flick on Turner Classics - didn't really have anything else to watch that would lull me to sleep.

I slept well in the hotel though - got a good 6 hours total here and there. Slept in until 5:35 without the cat to wake me.

O'Malley was happy to see me. He didn't eat much of what I left for him, I'm guessing he spent most of the time resting or sleeping.

Happy first day of summer - get those BBQs fired up!
