Hello all!
Today was a pretty relaxing day overall. Rain moved in this evening, but was not too bad.
Henry has a friend over staying the night. Tomorrow we are going to take the boys to a retro video game/movie store that also has an old style arcade in it. It is really cool. Henry loves going there, he is really into all of the stuff from my childhood in the 80s.

MIL update: she is out of ICU and in a regular hospital room. She still struggles to stay awake and the infection is not gone yet. She has made a lot of progress though. The big issue now is getting her to eat. She does not want to eat the hospital food, or really anything but sweets. However, she is diabetic (part of the larger problem) and she really need some protein. But again, overall, she is making progress. Thanks for all of the positive vibes!

Everyone have a great night!

Thank you for the update on your MIL ~ my prayers continue for her. I hope the rain won't be too bad!

Hey everyone! I hope everyone is well. Today my brother and I drove up to my mom's house (3 hour drive) to meet with her and my sister and start going through my father's things. He has only been gone 8 weeks and it really hit me today as I am really struggling going through his personal stuff. I know it needs to be done and he has TON of stuff for us to go through, but it was painful today in a way that I didn't expect. On the way home my brother and I stopped at the cemetery and I found myself talking to my dad and apologizing for touching any of his stuff today!! This is all new territory for me and I guess I'm just learning how to deal with it as I go. Anyway, the good thing was my mom and siblings and I had some good laughs at the table reminiscing and telling "dad" stories. I think we all needed those laughs. I hope everyone is doing well!

Great News!! We are now halfway there until Christmas! 6 months left! Happy Leon Day everybody :)

Sounds like fun for the boys and so very pleased with the progress of your MIL; continued prayers.

I understand that; I felt guilty for taking some of my moms clothes and jewelry after she passed. I felt like we were seagulls swooping down on some good pickings. It also stung a bit because it reaffirmed that she was truly gone and no longer needed these things.

When I went through my husbands closet to offer some clothes to my dad and the crisis centre, it actually found it easier than going through my moms things, perhaps because I was giving them away rather than taking them.

When my brother and a few of his friends were helping me go through photos for the memorial screen shots for her celebration of life, we had lots of laughs at some of the pics and shared Christmas and travel memories the most.

You are in my thoughts.

HoHoHello +i

I have the morning off and then work in the afternoon.

I usually pick up a Christmas gift on the 24th or 25th of each month.

+mI already picked up another gift last Saturday so if I don't get to the Christmas store today, I'm still well stocked with an abundance of merry items.

This is a special week for my fellow Christmas lovers; stay jolly! +f

AMD, what a wonderful way to keep the spirit of Christmas close each month! It must also make the holiday season a little less stressful. I am going to adopt your tradition!

Good Morning, Good Morning, Everyone!

The gap between us and a major Milestone marker has narrowed to the point it almost doesn't exist any more.
Keep reading for the exciting details!

Days to the Season: 142
Days to Christmas Day: 184

TWO DAYS.
That's precisely how far away we are from the HALF WAY point to Christmas Day.
(So close. So very close!)

Another good, low humidity day was had here yesterday. We have been pretty lucky lately, seeing as how we are well into June.
I'm afraid it's going to be hot today though, with our high by afternoon in the low to mid 90's and the humidity to match.
We begin this next-to-the-last day before the half way point at 72 degrees here in the capital city.

Have a Marvelous Monday, Folks!

Afternoon all,
Nice relaxed day here.
I managed to go into town earlier with my husband, he went off to the dentist to sort his teeth and I managed to go in and pick up a few bits that I needed which was good because my anxiety really trips me up a fair bit along with the Meniere's so that felt like an accomplishment.
Then took the puppy for a walk over to see my mother in law and managed to dodge babysitting my nephew.
Have been making some slow progress on the tablecloth and found a cross stitch Christmas card the other day so think I will sit and do that as well as some point to send to some one - if not a few people that I don't generally buy gifts for.

Saw my sister and nieces yesterday too which was nice and spent a few hours there and have been helping my son today to look for a little Saturday job, he wants to start earning himself some money but hes only 15 so fingers crossed something pops up.

Have spent most of yesterday making loom band bracelets with my little girl. Her birthday is next month and I think I will be getting her a load of craft things to keep her happy.

That film was amazing; touched my heart so deeply and sincerely that I'm now rushing to get tickets to Elton's Farewell concert in October. I was talking about it with my husband a month before he went into the hospital for the last time and I trust he would want me to treat myself to something special like this since he and I shared so many types of music in common. I missed the Paul McCartney tour; I don't want to miss this one.

Ran into an old friend at the car wash fundraiser for a p.t. paramedic who is going through treatment for testicular cancer - he doesn't qualify for benefits and two months into his career, he received the diagnosis.

Rose's husband, Barry was in the ER a few curtains away from my husband's sheltered stall. When we were advancing to Gary's room, I wanted to take Barry with us so I could keep an eye on him when Rose wasn't around. He begins stem cell treatments in a few weeks and their son is getting married this summer. I am hopeful it works for him. She told me what an inspiration I was for her during her struggle to smile through the sadness. We had a very long hug and shared a few tears, hers brought mine on, but it was lovely being there for each other.

I brought two dozen donuts to the gang washing cars and then gave them a donation for their chum. I had my car washed last weekend - full luxury style, but after some highway driving and more pollen adding a green tinge to my black GT, I was happy to have it hosed down again.

Stay Jolly!
Hope you're able to score the Elton John tix...The tour was here for two nights in February, but the fiscal timing was poor...No matter, I've seen him three times(starting in high school). The last time was part of the "Head to Head" tour with Billy Joel. :)

Good to hear from you...Hope your Merry Meter is pegged by the frequent visits.:)
Oh yeah! You know, I haven't stopped watching Christmas shows and movies, been ongoing since December 26, 2018! Had some Christmas tunes on the other day. Now that we are approaching Leon Day, I am getting more excited! Merry Meter is going strong! :D
