Hello all!
Today was a pretty relaxing day overall. Rain moved in this evening, but was not too bad.
Henry has a friend over staying the night. Tomorrow we are going to take the boys to a retro video game/movie store that also has an old style arcade in it. It is really cool. Henry loves going there, he is really into all of the stuff from my childhood in the 80s.

MIL update: she is out of ICU and in a regular hospital room. She still struggles to stay awake and the infection is not gone yet. She has made a lot of progress though. The big issue now is getting her to eat. She does not want to eat the hospital food, or really anything but sweets. However, she is diabetic (part of the larger problem) and she really need some protein. But again, overall, she is making progress. Thanks for all of the positive vibes!

Everyone have a great night!

Glad to hear your mother MIL is progressing. Continued prayers for her and the entire family!

Hey everyone! I hope everyone is well. Today my brother and I drove up to my mom's house (3 hour drive) to meet with her and my sister and start going through my father's things. He has only been gone 8 weeks and it really hit me today as I am really struggling going through his personal stuff. I know it needs to be done and he has TON of stuff for us to go through, but it was painful today in a way that I didn't expect. On the way home my brother and I stopped at the cemetery and I found myself talking to my dad and apologizing for touching any of his stuff today!! This is all new territory for me and I guess I'm just learning how to deal with it as I go. Anyway, the good thing was my mom and siblings and I had some good laughs at the table reminiscing and telling "dad" stories. I think we all needed those laughs. I hope everyone is doing well!

Thinking of you, sugarmuffin. Lots of (((hugs)))!

Happy Summery Week MMC! And Happy 24th #6 so Halfway to Christmas Eve huh? Unbelievable. Lots to enjoy way before that though including today. I've got work today and tomorrow then I'm off the rest of the week. Going to really enjoy it I hope. Have a great Summery Week!

Enjoy!

HAPPY LEON DAY MMC!!!!!!!-sun--merry-

Merry Tuesday MMC ~
We’re expecting showers/storms today with temperatures in the low 70’s. I snuck out of here early this morning to do some food shopping. I just straightened up the house and started laundry. I might make a Target run in a little while. Other than that I’ll be working on some chores around the house. Just a typical day. I hope everyone is well and has a nice day!
xx

Good morning, MMC and Happy Leon Day! I can't believe we're 6 months from Christmas Day! We're taking the kids to the local water park, as well as my sister, BIL, and niece are going with us. Work was crazy this weekend and I worked 15 hours yesterday, so I am so glad to be off today. Hope you all have a great one!

Elton and Billy must have been a great concert.

I've checked in with a few people and they're pointing me in the right direction for the best seating which may cost more, but I trust it will be worth it.

I was playing the soundtrack CD from the film in my car and now instead of what I used to envision when I heard the lyrics, I see bits and pieces of the movie instead.

Chatted with a friend at work and she said if I couldn't find anyone to go with me; she'd come so I will grab two tickets and make sure I have a place to stay nearby. Already priced the hotels and I'm somewhat familiar with the area although I haven't lived there for many years, the street names remain the same.
The "Head to Head" tour is one of the best concerts I've ever attended. Both bands played together to open the show, then one band left while the other played on, followed by a band switch, and finishing with both crews playing as one again. No intermission, and no break during the tag teaming. :D

Happy Rudolph Day!! I am up early today and working. We are so busy but I am thankful I can work from home. I plan on listening to a little Christmas music today.
My daughter's team won her softball game tonight and they are supposed to play tonight but not sure if they will get rained out or not.
Hope you all have a great day!!

Congratulations to your daughter's team!

Happy Leon Day all. I can't believe it's already the half-way mark. The year has gone by so quickly. I have the day off today, so I'll take the dog for a nice walk while listening to some Christmas podcast. It's supposed to hit 25C (77F) this afternoon, so I'll try to be indoors for that to stay cool.

I was watching one of the Hallmark channel's mysteries yesterday and they're doing Christmas in July. Two weeks of Christmas movies. I've probably seen most of them already as I assume they're just re-showing last year's, but there were a few worth watching again.

The FIL's dementia is slowing getting worse, but very slowly. Now there's a few times where he wants to explain something but the words are garbled. He then catches himself or tries to change the subject. This happens often when he's tired. He goes to a day program twice a week and they took a picture of him for Father's day. They photoshopped him with some fishing gear in the picture and we put it on the fridge. A few days later he didn't recognize who was in the picture. He likes going to the program, though, so that's good.

Well, let's mark the halfway point with some Christmas spirit. Maybe I'll make a Santa smoothie or winter milkshake! Take care.

Keeping all of you in my prayers, GWarren!
What is in a Santa Smoothie and winter milkshake?

What is in a Santa Smoothie and winter milkshake?

Santa Smoothie

1 package (10 ounces) frozen strawberries in syrup, partially thawed and undrained
1/4 cup water
2 cups vanilla frozen yogurt
2 tablespoons vanilla reduced-fat yogurt
1 strawberry-flavored or peppermint candy cane, about 6 inches long, finely crushed

  • Place strawberries and water in blender. Cover and blend on medium-high speed until slushy. Blend on medium speed until smooth. Transfer to 2-cup measure.
  • Wash and dry blender. Place frozen yogurt and reduced-fat yogurt in blender. Cover and blend on medium speed until smooth.
  • Place crushed candy cane on small plate. Line rim of glass with thin layer of yogurt. Dip rims into crushed candy.
  • Carefully pour yogurt mixture and strawberries at the same time into glasses, creating a half-and-half design. Serve with large drinking straws if desired.
A winter milkshake would be one made with peppermint ice cream, topped with some crushed candy canes.

We need a WOW button +n

Happy Rudolph Day #6 MMC! Today we have some humidity and showers but then the rest of the week looks pretty nice. I'll be off after today the rest of the week as my summer "breaks" start. I'll have a few of them over the next 5 weeks. I really want to take advantage of it as I'm burned out. Really since January I've had only some time off in March in the first half of the year. Have a great Rudolph Day #6!

The rain was coming down hard overnight offering a strange sound from making contact with the new solar-generator out back.

It calmed down while I was posting this morning and I didn't get wet going to work.

Monday is Canada Day so I'll have a three day weekend coming up.
Enjoy your merry R&R!
