Good morning ~
It’s going to be sunny and warm today, highs near 83 degrees. Not too much going on here this morning, I’m just working on the laundry. I have plans to meet my youngest at her job, we’re having lunch together. I’m going to make chicken salad sandwiches. I’ll stop by my parents house afterward to spend some time with them. Then back home to work on some more chores around the house. Dinner will be grilled shrimp over a spinach salad with mozzarella garlic bread. That’s about it for me. I hope everyone has a nice day!!!
xx

Good Morning, Post Peak, Perpetually Pursuing, Personages!

Yes, we crested the peak-of-the-week yesterday and have once again commenced the downhill run to the weekend, with Weekend Eve coming tomorrow.

And not only are we pursuing another weekend, we are bearing down hard on our next Milestone marker.

Days to the Season: 76
Days to Christmas Day: 118

The ONE HUNDRED DAY CHRISTMAS DAY WINDOW now lurks a scant 18 days into the future. Barely over 2 1/2 weeks hence.
(The year is slipping away fast, Folks.)

Now yesterday was the first day since our new warming trend began where it began to feel uncomfortable again by mid afternoon. As usual though, a late afternoon rainstorm cooled things off a bit.
Today shows a predicted high of 84 with no chance of rain in the forecast.
We begin this eve of the Eve at 66 degrees, here.

Have a Thrilling Thursday, Guys!

A packed Inn once again to wrap up the summer theme gatherings at the Shispering Pines.

It looked like a beach party from the days of Frankie and Annette's Beach Blanket Bingo Days.

Carl and O'Malley the cat did a great job with the entertainment, but only Carl can take credit for the food and drinks and the monogrammed beach towels.

Acting out If it Were Christmas was a great lead up to the events and merry make over that the Inn will see next Wednesday as we gather for the first Wednesday of the "bers".

If It Were Christmas! By Auntie Mistletoe (adapted from Topol’s - If I Were A Rich Man from: Fiddler on the Roof) as performed by Carl and O'Malley

If it were closer to Christmas
Daidle, deedle, daidle, digguh,
Digguh, deedle, daidle, dum
All day long, I’d decorate our Inn
If it were closer ho, ho, hum.

Wouldn’t have to trim the tree much
Daidle, deedle, daidle, digguh,
Digguh, deedle, daidle, dum
I’d bake some cookies and pies
Hang the lights for the evening skies.
I’d build a big tall snowman with a top hat
And all sorts of frills and things like that
A fine broomstick and perhaps a friend
Who knows where the mistletoe be at

I’d fill my yard with ferris wheels, festive wooden soldiers
A Christmas village and a Nativity - perhaps
I’d build one snow fort for the grandkids to play in
It’d be warm with hot cocoa to serve and gingersnaps

I wouldn’t have to wait much
Santa would be arriving soon
I would wrap gifts by the dozen
Right in the middle of the living room
With ribbons and bows and pretty paper
And special festive tags to match

The people in the town would come to me and wonder
Where’d she get the Christmas spirit from - ours seem under wrap
And how’d she manage to play music from her computer
Piping it out in the streets for all to hear while trying to nap
And amazingly they’d gaze at the revolving Merry-Go-Round
Taking them back to childhood joys and awe

I would watch Christmas movies all night
Daidle, deedle, daidle, digguh
Digguh, deedle, daidle, dum
This would be the sweetest thing of all

We were just missing Jayish in his tutu dancing to Madonna's Walking Around in Merry Underwear.

Think I had too many cranberry rum balls - but what a fun time!

Keep it jolly! +a

Excellent composition, Auntie. Carl was quite pleased.
(Bing should consider you for the music in her next opera!)

Merry Thursday morning and happy Friday eve!

A gap was left in the visual barrier at "A Christmas To Remember" yesterday and I was able to take this narrow shot. Note the merchandise just starting to be put up on the wall!

Good Thursday morning, Christmas friends!

The temperature is a little more reasonable today, probably owing to a lower humidity. Of course, all of that will change this weekend, if Dorian has anything to say about it.

Nancy and I are going to have dinner with Jacob and Elizabeth tonight! I haven't seen Jacob in a couple weeks, and I haven't seen Elizabeth since last Sunday. I can't wait!

I hope y'all have a great day! :D

1 more day to go and the three-day weekend will be here.

I imagine at least one of those days will involve wasting my day away by catching up on some sleep.

I noticed when I was driving home from a destination about 45 minutes away that the ACME sign is down and so is the for sale sign for the property.

I miss that old ACME sign because it reminded me of childhood days watching Road Runner and Coyote (although I preferred the other cartoons because of the talking). I know other things prompt memories so I'll get used to it.

I didn't make it home at lunch the last two days and O'Malley was quite pleased when I came through the door.

I have to book him in at the groomers in a few weeks; he's shedding quite a bit and losing some of the shine in his coat because there are a few spots he has trouble reaching these days.

Weather called for rain today, but we evaded it again - they've changed the report three times since Sunday.

Stay Jolly! -surprise-

Saturday morning? Why wait. Have a cup now. I just finished a pot or 6. Yabba!

If I had more than two cups; I'd be jumping out of my own skin. Not YABBA for me.

YABBA onward Binger of the part owner in a coffee franchise or should be.

I went to bed at 8:30 and woke up at 4:30 - how's that for catching up a bit on my sleep. I woke up during the night a few times, but was able to get back to sleep fairly quickly.
We need a Santa waking in his bed image for such an occasion.

I've been suffering with a sinus infection on the left side of my face since Monday and it's been off and on since June. When I was at the dentist two weeks ago I asked if the pain in my teeth and jaw could be dental related, the dentist said it wasn't nerve related likely a sinus infection. I try to get through things without meds. I warmed an oatmeal soak that I've used many times on my shoulder and the back of my neck over the years so I put it on my face on Tuesday and every night since to try and ease the pain; especially when my ear started to ache. It didn't do much for the teeth, but the pain in my ear subsided. I did a hot water bowl and towel trick to drain the sinuses because nothing was coming out of my nose (I know eww).

I caved and started taking antibiotics as regular sinus meds weren't helping at all. Finally starting to work. If it doesn't clear up, I'd have to get an diagnostic image done to see if a duct is blocked or damaged. Looks like the antibiotics are working, my teeth aren't hurting nearly as much and I can finally blow my nose.

I was in so much pain that I could hardly think straight and was making errors in posts in the game section and three times during the week I was looking for my sunglasses which were already on my face or in my hand. Geesh.

Hoping I've got this sinus thing turned around and can enjoy the long weekend.

Keep a merry thought in your head and may you never have to endure such intense sinus pain.

Speaking of merry thoughts - I had a pumpkin spiced muffin yesterday. I don't eat cookies, cakes, pies, chocolates or candy, but I had to have one just so I could tell you about it.

It's not even the "bers" yet and coffee retailers are switching their summer flavours out for pumpkin everything.

psst. It's FRIDAY

That sounds miserable. Hope you feel better post haste.

Good Morning, Folks.

Well, hard though it may be to believe, we once again find ourselves at yet another Weekend Eve. They come and go like ghosts, don't they?
And our daily numbers and Milestone markers.
They pass like ghosts, too.

But to get into the spirit of things, here are the latest figures:
Days to the Season: 75
Days to Christmas Day: 117

And we are haunted by the fact that in just 17 more days, we will be arriving at the 100-Day Christmas Day Window, after which, BOTH of our counts will number in double-digits.
(Scary, to say the least!)

Cooler yesterday but the humidity was still there. All in all, not really so bad.
Today, we are supposed to reach a high of 88, with a zero percent chance of precipitation.
Our particular Weekend Eve has commenced here at 63 degrees.

Have a Fabulous Friday, Friends.
And I hope a truly Magnificent Weekend will be yours for the enjoying!
