Well, the downtown Christmas movie photos didn't happen. When I got the cat settled at the groomers, they had already taken most of the decorations down and were packing up the trucks. O'Malley's groomer said I missed the main display with fake snow and lights the week before Thanksgiving.

Next time a crew is filming Christmas stuff, she'll send me a message so I don't miss it.

They had about 7 trailers and budget trucks scattered at different places around the block and took up my loading and unloading spot for the O'Cat so I had to park half a block away which is nothing for me, but with a 26lb cat, it was a heavy load.

O'Malley was "good as gold" at the groomers. Tolerated everything and even around his back end.
And he never woke me up this morning. I slept in until 5:30 and was worried for a moment because he didn't come waddling down to see me during the night when I went to the washroom or when I woke up from a bad dream with a bit of a scream.
Maybe I'm getting the cold shoulder for putting him in the cage.
He looks mighty pretty though.

I have a few tasks to complete, but no shopping to do; I lucked out with a new in-between weather coat, a pair of pants and two tops yesterday. Off to the laundromat shortly.

It's sunny, but a bit cool; I have to clean the trunk of my car. Glad it's not raining.

Keep a merry thought in your head +i

A Good, Wet Morning to All!
At least it's wet here, with lots of rain coming our way from the remains of "Nestor". We will be getting plenty of the wet stuff today, but the winds should not be much of a factor.

To the ever-declining numbers:
Days to Halloween: 11 (Single Digits the day after tomorrow!)
Days to the Season: 24 (Now under 3 1/2 weeks!)
Days to Christmas Day: 66 (Five days over 2 months left!)

Just a sprinkle with cool temperatures yesterday afternoon.
It rained overnight and today shows a 100 percent chance of more. In fact, it's lightly raining as I type this, and our current thermometer reading is 64 degrees.

The Panthers have a bye week so I can relax today.
They are doing better than I expected with Newton out. Allen is doing a great job.

Have a Super Sunday, Everybody!

One of the local radio stations that shares discussions of the day, was initiating conversation about when to start Christmas shopping. One of the posters exclaimed, "Can't we wait until after Remembrance Day to ask these questions!"

I also had a few friends post on my wall over the years or send me a message because I post Christmas related things in October.

I always defend my merry wackiness by reminding them that I celebrate all year so my appreciation for all things Christmas doesn't have anything to do with a lack of respect for Remembrance Day. Does that mean we only consider those who serve on November 11th? I'd like to think that we are thankful for their sacrifice and peace keeping efforts throughout the year. A date on the calendar doesn't mean we can't have other thoughts and passions. I think it's a bit narrow minded to focus on one day. We don't even have half a day off on the 11th, if I wanted to participate, I'd half to book it off work. We still pause for two minutes of silence. I remember pulling over on the side of the road once when the announcement started on the radio in the car.

I shared that I have been picking up items around the 24th/25th each month to keep things jolly and to be better prepared.

I only have about 5 gifts left to buy.

I have come to the conclusion that most people that buh hum about Christmas are the ones who are not ready for Christmas, whether it be financially, emotionally and/or mentally. Like you I like to buy gifts early, I plan, clean and prep all year so I am not running around the weeks before christmas like a mad woman trying to get everything done. I would much rather enjoy Christmas prep year round so I can spend the actually Christmas season with mt family doing fun things.

WTG to on the shopping. Love that you shop around the 24th/25th of each month.

Good morning, all

Back again for another Christmas season! :)

We may get a little snow this weekend in northern Michigan, so it reminded me that it surely must be time to head back to MMC

Good news...double good news, actually:

1) I will be able to stay home this Christmas for the first time in a few years

2) the reason why is because my daughter and her family decided to move up here!

It's been a glorious treat :) :) :)

Welcome back, Classic Christmas! That's so exciting your daughter has moved home!

TGIF!!
Merry Friday!! Another week almost done.
My oldest daughter hurt her knee in her soccer game. She had to be carried off the field. Our neighbor and his wife are PTs so they looked at and didn't think anything was torn and think it is a sprained Meniscus. So we will see...she is in a brace and we will have to bring her the orthopedist.
Hope you all have a great day!

So sorry to hear about your daughter - how is she doing now? Prayers for healing!

So happy that we are almost at the FINAL WEEKEND of October, which means that in just 11 days, it is Christmas

We too take joy in getting everything done early, and it doesn't take anything away whatsoever from "actual" Christmas day / season. As i type this we are roughly 1/2 way done with buying presents. Should finish mid - late November.

Good Friday evening! Finally the weekend is here! Temperatures have dropped a bit, to the point that I turned on the heat in the living room for the first time this season. This afternoon we gave our employee battling cancer the money we had all pooled together so she could afford to take a week off work to rest and recuperate. In total we surprised her with 575$, enough to cover her expenses and buy a new Winter coat that she needed. That week's rest will also allow her to resume her cancer treatments, as she had decided to take a break because of extreme fatigue. It's moments like these that show just how great of a team we have at work.

This was so great of you guys. I'm sure she was so grateful!

Good morning, my friends. Hope all is well. Got up, had a fire and some coffee...now, it is time to get ready for soccer. Kinda chilly, but today is the last day. Glad it all wraps up today. I get to start having Saturday mornings back.

Tonight, we our having our first community movie night. Should be an awesome time. The screen is going to be a 16x20 and we are watching Aladdin. I'm super excited and so is our community. The fire department is cooking hot dogs and my girls are super excited.

We actually had a movie night here last night. Toy Story 4, hotdogs, marshmallows...great night.

Y'all have a good day. I gotta get going.

That sounds like so much fun! Hope it went off without a hitch!

Good morning ~
Merry Saturday!
I’m heading out soon to do some food shopping. Back home afterward to work on a couple of chores. I also have plans to go out for lunch with my three daughters and my mom. My youngest just got a promotion at work so we’re going out to celebrate. Should be fun. I hope everyone is well and has a wonderful day!!!
xx

Congrats to your daughter!

Good morning!
Happy Saturday...we found out my daughter tore her ACL. She starts PT on Tuesday and surgery is tentatively scheduled for 11/14. I feel so bad for her but there are definitely worse things out there. We are not up too much today. I am catching up on laundry. Hope you all have a great day!

So sorry to hear this, SFM, but you're right. Prayers for healing (((hugs))) to her

Prayers for your daughter, SFM.

Started planning our condo's cookie sharing event for probably the first Saturday in December. Last year we had quite a turnout. We gave half of the cookies to our first responders in DB Shores and they really appreciated them. We even made the local news. The cops and firefighters are in the same location but there were three shifts so we brought at least 12 dozen cookies to them. I'm not sure how many batches I can do this year but I'll try to do at least 6 dozen. We had a good turnout of people last year (about 30) and each came with quite a few cookies to share. We ended up giving our 4-man maintenance crew a dozen cookies each.....and they were gone by the end of the day!

Wow! This is so nice you all do this!

Good Morning MMC ~
Not too much going on here, I’m just having my coffee and relaxing for a few minutes. We are going to attend a 90th birthday party later this afternoon for a friend’s mother. I’m going to make baked ziti for dinner when we get back home. That’s about it it for me. I hope everyone has a wonderful day!!!
xx

Happy Birthday to her!

Good afternoon, MMC! Caught up here - I hadn't posted in a couple of days. I did well on my tests and am now done with both of those big tests/certs for two years again, so I can now enjoy the season. I am sitting by the fire, enjoying the decorations and watching HMM. Today is Nittany's 4th birthday! Hard to believe. We attended a Halloween party last night and were Gomez and Morticia Adams. I thought DH and I pulled it off well. Here are a few pictures. My sister did my make-up. She killed it! Hope you're all well and having a great weekend!

Movie night was pretty cool. They sent a technician who was on his first night.

He had no clue how to plug up any of the equipment. Several of our people spent about 45 minutes trying to get it going. We started way late and that really impacted the little ones.

Nonetheless, it was a good community event.

We have a Halloween party next weekend. It is so hard to believe this is our last full week of October. In less than two weeks, our tree goes up.

"In less than two weeks our tree goes up" are some of the best words EVER!!!!
