Good Halloween Thursday everyone! A lot of rain and strong winds will be moving in, so much so that many cities, including my own, have decided to move trick or treating night to tomorrow. But it's still Halloween day so I'm all dressed up and ready to go to work. But Christmas is truly on my mind and I've now seen two houses with Christmas lights on. Bring on the season I say! Have a great day everyone!

I'm sitting here with my Halloween decor and listening to Christmas music currently. You can guarantee though, tomorrow, my Halloween decorations will coming down and Christmas will be coming out!

Thank you all so much. Your prayers mean the world to me. I am feeling so much better today. I'm back to 95% and expect to be 100% by tomorrow. I've had back issues for years including adding some rods and screws back in December of 2016. Now I'm having some issues above that hardware. Hopefully some physical therapy will help alleviate my pain.

So glad to read are feeling better ~ I will keep you in my prayers.

Merry Halloween!

My brother had an oncology appointment today and as usual there was good news/bad news. The good news is that the chemo/immunotherapy are working wonders on the lungs, lymph nodes, and bones (YAY!!). However, we got confirmation today that it isn't working on the brain. The oncologist said that there was brain damage and that could be one of the reasons why Ralph isn't eating and is refusing his therapy. He got a stern lecture from his doctor about what he needs to do to get better, so hopefully he understands and will cooperate with his care team. He will be off the chemo for up to two more weeks so he can gain strength and then he will be put back on at a reduced dose.
I wanted to thank all of you for the positive thoughts and prayers ~ they are working! xx

Have a safe and fun Halloween! I'm staying in as there is wind, rain, and snow in the forecast. I foresee Christmas movies, hot chocolate, and maybe even a nap in my future. :)

Happy Halloween. We got a break in the rain and it looks the rain will hold off it's return until after trick or treating is done tonight. However when it does return it will be with a vengeance. Calling for heavy rain, high winds and possible thunder between 9 pm and midnight. Hope everyone a fun and safe Halloween!

Good morning and Happy Halloween, MMC family! Bummer here - trick-or-treat has been rescheduled until Saturday due to the weather. I'm not posting to start a debate (because in the area I live in, it's been a huge debate), but I can see both sides of it, but they at first had done it because of heavy rain, but now it is supposed to possibly thunderstorm, so I get that. The temperature is supposed to still be almost 70F, in PA mind you during trick-or-treat. I think parents just need to use their judgement, but I am glad they rescheduled now since it is supposed to thunderstorm. We had planned on putting a tarp or some type of canopy over DH's truck and making sure the kids didn't get wet and also making sure they wore jackets, but unfortunately, I think they have to think about the majority of kids who won't have parents with them and will be walking in the rain. It's sad, but true and as DH, my parents, and I all said, it's just rain, a lot of people don't agree, so like I said, it's not a debate, just stating facts. LOL. Anyway, since it still is Halloween, my kids look forward to this day every year, because I always make trick-or-treat night special for them. I plan on having the house more decorated, playing Halloween music, playing Halloween themed games and watching Halloween themed movies/specials, and then having a special dinner. DH and I were both off this evening too and he is going to be out of town all weekend teaching, so I want to make sure he is included tonight with them. I'll at least be off with them on Saturday.

Sorry for the long winded post. I hope you all enjoy. Have a spooky day!!!

That's interesting; I've never heard of changing the date for Halloween due to weather conditions, yet we've done it locally for the Canada Day fireworks. Seems fair enough if people have notice.

The winds have started to pick up here, but so far it's only drizzling, yet when I was easing into a stop at a traffic light, I spotted a clump off slush on the road. Wonder where that driver had come from.

I saw two people dressed up as Santa at local school; a teacher with a real Santa costume except for the beard and a boy with an inflatable Santa outfit. The first time my mom sat me on Santa's lap, I screamed and cried. I was either 9 months old or 21 months old at the time. I guess he can be considered scary, but I've observed some people don't dress in terrifying costumes these days.

Apparently, a message from the Mayor went out stating that we would not be putting a hold on Halloween - kids and parents are out and about.

All in all it's still good news because it might explain why he isn't eating and wanting to do his therapy.

Continued prayers for hope and that Ralph's treatment helps the brain heal as well.

Happy Halloween everyone!! The rain has finally stopped here and we have clearing skies. It is a nice crisp fall evening! I feel like Halloween is such a BIG day for so many of us here, as this will be the last day that we will be without our Christmas Trees and lights and decorations on our houses! And just like the meme that is going around FB, when the clock strikes midnight, it really will be Christmas stuff everywhere!! I'm so looking forward to seeing our local mall and stores (other than Hobby Lobby and Craft Stores) put out their christmas items!!

When I go out to the mall when Santa is there, I can usually tell in advance which children are going to cry and which won't. The criers are generally in the 9 month to 3 year range. The older kids are OK with it and babies couldn't care less.
