Christmas Countdown - 2019

Merry Monday with no further milestone markers to count.

As Crown will share; we are at the 90% jolly window.

Work three days then off to a conference; dinner and social Wed. night, back for a sleepover with the cat on Thursday and if the weather cooperates, off to Toronto with my dad to connect with my brother, take in a concert and finally deliver his housewarming surprises.

The Across the Creek Neighbours have their red and green lights on that wrap around their entire entranceway. Almost like they know our schedule here. Hmmm. I'll drop her card and special ornament off on the weekend.

Good Morning everyone! Hope everyone is well. Decorating for us is nearly complete as well. I relied much more on my husband this year for his help but the house is looking so festive! All trees are up and decorated with the exception of the live tree. We will get that a week from Wednesday. I found a tree lot that opens this Saturday but it is my tradition to hunt down a live tree and put it up the day before Thanksgiving. We finished all of our outdoor decorations last night with the exception of the pine tree in front of the house (we planted him years ago and he is now about five foot tall.) I can't seem to find his lights so I will buy some today and we will put them on tonight. Then, my husband built me a wooden display piece for my village that is in the corner of the living room. We need to wrap the shelves and center poles in garland and lights and put the village up. It will have a four foot decorated tree at the top with branches from a larger tree attached at the back and pointing down to give the illusion that the village is nestled inside a tree. That is my vision anyway; but who knows how it will turn out! But it will be special either way because he made it! We have that to finish and then the house will be done! We have more decorations than ever this year! I love it! It has been a rough year for us, especially with my dad passing, so I am going to make the house as festive as I can to help combat those sad feelings. Happy Week Before Thanksgiving! We're almost there ladies and gents. It's amazing to say this is the last full week before Thanksgiving. This is the 11th week in a row that I've had 5 days since Labor Day Week. And I'm ready for the Thanksgiving break but first one more long week to go. Went to see the Trans Siberian Orchestra last night it was amazing ..as a bonus my wife bought me tickets to go see Pentatonix in a couple weeks for my birthday getting spoiled this year .

Good Monday morning! Reading about everyone decorating for Christmas is making me excited for later this week when it’ll be our turn to put up our tree and decorate. I’m seeing more and more houses with lights and a few trees popping up in windows here and there, people everywhere are now in Christmas mode.

Today I’ll do some grocery shopping and start shopping for Christmas gifts. I’ll also continue the deep clean and decluttering that I started two weeks ago.

Well, this is usually my favorite weekend of the year. This is the weekend we have traditionally gone grocery shopping for Thanksgiving and Christmas shopping for the first time. Can't remember the last time we didn't. It has been at least 15 years. We did this all the way back when we were dating.

Doc had to go. She needed to get a few things and she said it was a mad house. Oh, how I would have loved to be out in it....but it is ok. We will certainly make it next year.

I honestly don't know when I will get be back. It very well could be on next Monday. We takeoff on Tuesday and land back in Memphis on Sunday night. I hope to be able to visit a few times while we are away, but I know how crazy it will be.

Yall have a good week. A few prayers for safety and good health would be appreciated.

Prayers that the surgery will go perfectly. These ACL injuries are so common now that this procedure has become routine. She should be back to 100 percent in 8 to 12 months depending on how much rehab she can squeeze into her schedule.

Days to Christmas Day: 37 (FIVE weeks from the day after tomorrow!)

And that final Milestone?
It's the 90 percent marker to Christmas Day 2019.
The Home Stretch to Christmas has begun!!

It continues dry, sunny and chilly here in central NC but it's getting very gradually warmer each day.
As this week progresses, we will go from a predicted high of 49 for today up to 64 degrees for Friday before we cool off again. A 60 percent chance of rain shows for today, then dry conditions should prevail at least until Friday.
Our week-starting temperature reading is 45 degrees here in the capital city.

Morning MMC! Enjoying a snow free day here except the bridge work and road work are once again stinking up our show trying to get kids to school. I swear these people are trying to retire on this 1 job.

4 apartments in my complex have their outside lights up and one had a tree in their window tonight when I came home from the store.

I feel so far behind.

The good news is, I don’t think I have to worry about any of them in the decorating contest.

Good Monday morning, Christmas friends!

Saturday was a freezing, rainy day...and Nancy made me work outside all day. We're still getting ready for Thanksgiving at our house, and she's making me clean the whole place in just a couple days. She's a taskmaster!

The kids came home to clean their rooms up Saturday afternoon, and they both stayed the night. We were so happy to have the house full again!

We took some more furniture to Jacob's apartment yesterday afternoon, AND I found a water leak in my yard, so I have to dig that up today. Great.

Still, it's not raining today, and I'm going to the mountains next weekend.

And Wednesday is our 25th anniversary! I think I have her convinced to keep me by now.

Busy day so far. Rocky had a groomer appointment earlier and I just got to the chiropractor. I have errands to run after I leave here, back home to work on chores and make a pot of taco soup for dinner. I hope everyone is having a nice day so far!!!
