Merry Thursday!!
I placed my last online order last night and finished wrapping last night. Only had a few things and the rest will go in a gift bag.
It is so cold outside but looks like we will warm up over the weekend.
Hope you all have a great day!!

Happy Thursday morning and Merry Christmas MMC! The temp was 37 in SoCal when I left the house this morning. High is supposed to be 63. I'll need to brave the weather and go get gas some time today.

Today is another Friday for me. I'll have a 3 day weekend, work Monday, a half Day Tuesday and then won't return until Monday Dec. 30. Gift buying is done and what needed to be sent has been sent. The gifts staying in the house will be wrapped tomorrow.

Did my first batch of baking last night and brought it into the office this morning. More baking to do over the next 3 days. I'm trying to learn piping to add some pizzazz to the cookies and cupcakes this year. Disaster waiting to happen, but nothing a knife can't smooth over. I need to make a trip to Hobby Lobby tomorrow as I need more meringue powder for royal icing.

A lot to do in the office today so the day should move relatively quickly . . . as soon as I get around to starting.

Enjoy!

Good Morning, Last Leggers.
And if passing under the one week mark means we are on the last leg of our journey to Christmas, then indeed we are nearly "home"!

Days to Christmas Day: 6
Yes sir, there it is in black and white. UNDER A WEEK to go, now!

Cold weather is back, and a full coat was needed all day yesterday in substitution for the light jacket I was able to wear on Tuesday.
Today will be cold also, a near carbon copy of yesterday but tomorrow should be about 10 degrees warmer.
Our current outside thermometer reading is a cold 29 degrees here in the capital city.

Have a Thoroughly Thrilling Thursday, Everyone!
Thanks Crown! Have a great Thursday!

Good morning all! I'm off today, then head back to work tomorrow for the weekend. I plan on baking two more batches of cookies today - gingerbread and thumbprint cookies. I have my niece as well, which is trying to fall asleep, so she'll soon be out for a nap. Other than that, DH works night shift this evening/tonight, so we won't really have any plans for tonight. I hope you all have a wonderful day!

Thank you! Still feeling pretty awful so I had a chest x-ray done this morning and waiting to hear from Dr. about results. I feel the same way I did in May when I had pneumonia so I am betting that I have it again! I've cleared my schedule for the next few days and plan on resting in bed as much as possible so I can be back to productive for the week before Christmas!!

So sorry I'm just now reading this. How are you feeling?

That will be different for you!! Nice that they are so close. My brother from Cape Cod just came home yesterday & he'll be out for 30 days! So excited!!!
I don't know where Miss Chloe would learn bad behavior from?! :)

That will be nice to have him home! Enjoy the time with him!

This afternoon I took my brother and his wife to Bonefish Grill, their favorite restaurant. Unfortunately, their two adult daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren won't be coming for Christmas. This is the first full year they've lived in Florida.

This coming Monday I have surgery on my right eye (lens implant), then in two weeks my left eye. Because of pre-existing conditions, I won't be doing a traditional Christmas dinner. I was so sure one of their daughters would be coming down. I invited them over Thursday to see my decorations and we plan to go to a movie as soon as the first surgery is done.....if my vision is OK.

Tomorrow, I'm getting the condo cleaned so today I washed all the bedding and Ace's THREE beds, along with two full loads of clothes. I'll probably wake up before the cleaning service comes and make a quick trip to the grocery store to stock up on fruit, veggies, and other things I'll need for the coming week.

I also thought I might order an organic ham so after signing off I'll search the Internet. My brother loves ham and it would be good to have it near Christmas.

Prayers for healing, KimB.

The mail was a bit eerie today. I got replies from a relative and a friend that I had sent Christmas cards to; both notes announced that the intended recipient had passed away. So sad to have two such notes in the same mail. One was a cousin, and one was a friend we knew through our friend Gloria (whom we lost last year).

So sorry to hear this, MerryCarey. I'm sure that was shocking news.

G'Mornin' Christmas Fans :)

So they caught the culprit who made the threats to our school. There was no real threat, come to find out. But administration can take no chances these days.

These kids doing things like this do not understand in this day and age threats like this, whether real or not, will land you in prison.

So, we move on, on towards Christmas, which is approaching FAST

It is so sad what is going on in society today and what we have to worry about with our children, but I'm glad the administration didn't take it as a joke.

Hello all! Can't believe how many days it's been since I've checked. This is the time of the year I want to be here everyday, but it's also the time of the year I'm so incredibly busy. I've been working overtime and I've been busy (like I know a lot of you are), with family get togethers, trying to get ready for Christmas, lets minute prep, baking cookies - we've baked 60 or so dozen so far, candy, candy, fudge, Chex mix, and sugar pecans. I've been whooped lately! We've also had three nurses quit in the ER just this week and we were already two short, so it's making for some more added stress for the ones, including myself who still work there and give extra of ourselves. I hope you're all well and ready for the big day! Can't believe we're just one week away! It's so exciting!
Don't forget to take care of yourself....

That will be a very busy and festive weekend Holiday. Have a wonderful time with your family and friends!
It's almost the next weekend already, but we did have a wonderful & exhausting weekend!!!! I'm just a little sad it's over!!

While I was at the party, a few of people had side-bar chats with me acknowledging that this will be a difficult Christmas without my husband. They also appreciated how I share what I'm experiencing and my jovial attitude to continue living life fully. None of them upset me; I understand my reality. Acceptance is refreshing; my love is stronger than his death and my desire to continue to be the ME that Gary loved comes naturally.

The last three years between November and February, my husband spent more time in bed than he did with me. He didn't participate in the last Christmas with my mom because he couldn't make it down the stairs and the Christmas before that he only came over on Christmas morning. The Christmas season has always meant more to me than it did to him. He was amused by my child-like heart that had to watch animated Christmas specials and my choice of gifts for children and family on my gift list and appreciated that I showed him what I bought after the fact, but didn't attempt to drag him out to go shopping with me.

I think about him daily; something always seems to pop up, but I accept it; welcome it and carry on with life. His departure from my physical world, doesn't put an end to the memories or my jolly ways.

I actually find myself missing my mom this year even more than last year which was our first Christmas season without her. She was the designer of the merry transformation at their place and my dad will set up the tree and a few decorations, but it's never quite the same. Not worse, just different. At least he has agreed to celebrate it with additional guests this year. He knows how important it is to me so he will do whatever it takes to make sure I have a joyful yuletide.

We sure missed our Mom at our Chrismtas party this year too!!
Thinking of you!

Good afternoon .. a dreary, wet and foggy day today. 5th rainy/overcast day this week. I am missing the sun. Sitting here enjoy my coffee and a donut from the amish market. Going to get wrapping done today and get some cleaning done. My dinning table is a disaster ... wrapping paper, tape and labels all over the place.
I'm heading to Amishville tomorrow - hoping to hit a few markets or "variety stores"! :)
