DAYS TO HALLOWEEN : 146
DAYS TO OCTOBER 1ST: 116
WEEKS TO OCTOBER: 16
WEEKS TO HALLOWEEN: 20
Good Morning Halloween Friends! There's something spooky going on with our weeks count this morning! Weeks to Halloween is now 6 days away from getting a "1" in front of it! We will soon get to see 1's in front of both counts for the next little while. Seeing both counts begin with 1 is always fantastic. We are marching towards some more special days now. The Summer Solstice is just 13 days away now. Which means we are officially and exactly TWO WEEKS away from the days starting to get shorter, a big deal in this thread. Two days after that, we welcome in the 100 Days to October milestone!
Which brings me to today's special topic. It's no secret that each year I long for the day after the Solstice. The fact that the days are getting shorter little by little is a huge comfort by that point, as I am usually knee deep in battling the heat and trying to "survive" until my beloved Bers. The first thing I do each year, is share my "weeks until meme", on the threads on this site, as well as my social media feed. I get a mixture of cheers and jeers from my Facebook friends, it's mostly cheers here on MMC. And once that is done, I start looking in earnest for signs of the coming Fall. I do most of my roadwork / exercise at a local Wetlands preserve / park, and I make sure to look each day at the leaves and trees to see any signs of Fall coming. Last year, I was able to spot my first batch of leaves beginning to turn for the season in late July! And when I do my running at night because the heat is too hot during the day, sometimes I can catch one of those "Bers Sunsets" (Think beautiful deep purple, red, etc). I got one last year at the end of June. It was such a great feeling.
So how about you guys? Do you do anything different after the Solstice passes and the days begin getting shorter? I figured we all have our own routines, and it involves more than just waiting for Halloween candy to show up in the grocery store! Have a great Monday!
