Thanksgiving 2021 Thread

It was kind of a trick question CW
...Thanksgiving is really about a day (maybe a week) and Christmas is about 6-8 weeks for us. So it's not really fair to compare each "individual" day. Thanksgiving is the "beginning" and Christmas is the "ending".

Happy Next To Last Day Of July! We are moving along here folks with 2 days remaining in this summer month of July. And thank you to all who answered my poll yesterday. It was a bit of a trick as I said. But it was meant to be for fun. Our 3 counts look like this: 118 days to go until Thanksgiving, 94 days remaining until November, and 33 left until The Bers. Our next milestone is on Sunday when "August Arrives." That will be a great thing. We will begin the 9th month of 11 on our road back to November. That's quite a stat isn't it? I think so. And I hope you all are well on this Friday morning. It's almost time for another summer weekend. And then we'll be here to post all weekend like usual. It's great to post every day on this site and thread. And you all make it fun. So when can we officially talk turkey? Pretty soon I think. I'm salivating at the thought of those turkey thoughts that I get here in the middle of the summer. And I hope to get them through the rest of it. Have a great Next To Last Day Of July!

It's a B for me too. Second only to Christmas.
My love for Thanksgiving is also partially tied to it ushering in Christmas. I've said it before. If Thanksgiving was in June, it just wouldn't be the same. It would fall down the list. But, as it is, it's perfectly placed at the end of November. And that makes it #2 in my book.

Now I really wonder how this year's parade will be...we're in a weird spot now where we dropped masks and stuff (for a while) and now some places are reversing it. Yet we're still seeing outdoor stadiums without masks and the parade is outdoors. Who knows what will be the situation by November!

Happy Final Day Of July! Here we go. It's Saturday and the weekend is here. And we have 3 countdowns to start off your weekend above. We have 117 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 93 days to go until November, and 32 days left until The Bers. Our next milestone is TOMORROW folks and that would be on Sunday which is the Arrival of August and the 9th of 11 months starting up on the road back to November. That will begin a 3 month stretch that leads us back there. But folks let's just enjoy this final day of July. I really am a huge fan of this month. It's my favorite Non-Bers month of the year. I've enjoyed it a ton and although time does move fast for some reason this month has felt like a long month to me. 4th of July seems like it was a while ago now. Maybe I'm just taking in little moments more each day and that's make the time at least slow down a bit. We obviously hope to do that during The Bers. And thankfully we still have all 3 countdowns going for a while longer. I hope you all are ready to enjoy your weekend. Have a great Final Day Of July!

It's almost August. Does that mean that we can seriously start planning our Thanksgiving dinner? My sister in law just yesterday already suggested a hash brown casserole for Thanksgiving!

I mean, I just tried out a new mac and cheese recipe and let my brother and sister-in-law be the testers, so you could say the planning has already started.
I am so with you on that SFM! No such thing as TOO early!

But first let's take a look at our 3 countdowns at the top of this post. We have 116 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 92 days to go until November, and 31 days left until The Bers begin. And today is MILESTONE DAY folks as August Arrives which begins the 9th month starting on our 11 month journey back to the wonderful month of November which is in our countdown above. Our next milestone is HUGE folks. And it's almost a scary one but we will see the 100 Days Till Thanksgiving Marker in 16 days time. So we have a good full 2 weeks + 2 days before it arrives but when it does think about the significance of it. It will mean we will be ending ALL TRIPLE DIGIT COUNTS in this thread. And it will also mean we're into the 2nd half of August and on our way into the home stretch towards The Bers. Yikes. I told you yesterday that July seemed to go slower to me and I'm hoping August can go even slower. Right now it's Sunday so you all want to enjoy the 2nd half of your weekend I know. And I'm sure you're ready for it. Who isn't ready for a relaxing/fun Sunday? I hope that your plans include both a combination of those things. And get ready for a great day. It's going now. We are on auto-pilot and August is gonna zoom by. I can feel it. Woke up this morning and the first thing I did was change the wreath on the front door to our Pumpkin "Welcome" one. Then I went out and changed the garden flag. That's all that will happen out doors today, but it's a significant change because it means that yesterday was the last day that our house and grounds will be without SOME form of seasonal decorations until late January. And that sure is a comforting fact!
