Halloween 2022 Countdown!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! Today is the day. The calm right now before the storm, literally. Later today, it will begin snowing, sometime early this afternoon. The snow will reach a peak rate of 1-3 inches an hour, on its way to 12 - 14 inches, with local spots seeing 20 inches or more. I've even turned the Christmas lights back on in anticipation of the storm.
Really hard to think of anything Halloween on such a day that just has such an awesome snow storm vibe. It's okay, there's plenty of days coming up (one just this week, in fact) to get those Halloween thoughts going. Have a great day!

I am with you. We still have one of our trees up too. I think we are are looking here at 6 to 12 in. Just going to be safe and take off tomorrow. Snow, Christmas lights, and football! Unfortunately not very Halloweenish.

Good Morning Halloween Friends! The snow storm is over. Thank goodness we didn't get all of the ice they were calling for. It snowed about 10 inches here, with higher amounts here and there due to the wind blowing it around. It also sleeted a lot last night real late. I was happy. I had to open my driveway once already last night, then later when the sun comes up, I'm going to do it a second time and clean off the vehicles.
On to Halloween talk! As you can see from our countdowns above, It is now exactly TWO WEEKS from our 1st Jack O Lantern Day, THREE DAYS until the 100 DAYS TO HALFOWEEN milestone, and just ONE WEEK until the 250 DAYS TO OCTOBER milestone! This is the kind of stuff I need to know is coming up, to power me through what's left of this month!
Now, on to today's question / topic: I often talk about my "toolbox" for MMC's Special Days, that help the day feel more like the real thing. If you celebrate JOL Day, or a Halloween milestone day, what is an item from your "toolbox" that helps that day feel more like Halloween / Fall?
I actually have two - My giant light-up, laughing "Jack O Lanterns", that I bought from Costco. And the other thing is my Harvest Pumpkin wallflower, complete with "Vampire Blood" scent! Seeing either of them instantly transport me into that Fall & Halloween mind state.

Ambient Mixer has become my go-to "tool" for Halloween and any mini-holiday feels I need during the year. Putting that on during work (and maybe a Peanuts soundtrack or two) is bliss.

And a quick look at the counts say that we are doing pretty good on several; we are just TWO DAYS from the 100 DAYS TO HALFOWEN milestone, and just SIX DAYS away from the 250 DAYS TO OCTOBER milestone!
Having yesterday off from work due to the snow storm might have just been the last thing I needed to power me through this week, the last of the two "slog weeks". There's too much good stuff coming up for me to be stuck in a slog for too long. Have to be honest - the 1st upcoming Rudolph Day is burning a hole in my pocket, and knowing it is immediately followed up by Tom Turkey Day, Dark Arts Sunday, and closing out the month with JOL Day #1 is a heck of a motivator right now!

You ever notice the sunsets in January are just muted compared to those bright and beautiful October sunsets. January sunsets are beautiful in their own way, I guess, but instead of a vibrant purple and orange, there's almost a blue hue to the whole thing, and the orange is definitely faded. I'll try to snap a picture tonight for comparison if I can remember to do so.
Case in point: I really miss my mysterious Halloween/October/Bers sunsets right now.
On the other hand, Thursday is going to be a big day! Can't wait to see the Halfoween count finally hit 100 and then drop to double digits on Friday. What a ride!

100 DAYS UNTIL HALFOWEEN!
Unless I'm missing something, I think this is the first "major" count this year that has reached the 100-day marker. And that, my friends, is something to get excited over. Starting tomorrow we'll be in double digits until our Halfoween celebration, and we're not even out of January yet! Can you imagine how we will feel a few months from now when we get to Halfoween?
I am definitely enjoying the ride this year, but moments like this get my emotions stirred up.
