Good Morning Halloween Friends! At long last, it is finally DARK ARTS SUNDAY. I have missed Hogwarts terribly these last few weeks, and to say I am excited for today is an understatement. Almost like an October / Halloween weekend. The Jack O Lanterns are out now, and the Cherry Cider has been made and is chilling. Today my plan is to get through HP and The Sorcerer's Stone, and HP and the Chamber of Secrets!

What a day it will be. Today officially marks 90 DAYS TO HALFOWEEN. And what else do we look forward to? THE BERS - which we now are only TWO WEEKS away from reaching the 200 day milestone. A Bers count soon in the 100's !? Sign me up. Almost like things are on auto-pilot now.

Have a terrific day, folks, and try and keep a Halloween thought in your head!

Morning Halloween Fans! 11 degrees on this final morning of the month of January. Halloween was 3 months ago. Wow. And 4 months ago we were on the eve of October. Have a great day!

**JACK O LANTERN DAY #1**

Happy Monday, Halloween Friends, and Happy Jack O Lantern Day #1!

It feels like today took FOREVER to get here! It was a good feeling to hear the old familiar Harry Potter soundtrack yesterday when Dark Arts Sunday officially kicked off. And the cherry cider was amazing, like always. Today my job is to keep the house smelling like "Halloween" and I can do a pretty good job of it between the wall flowers and our scented candles!

Tonight I'll be settling in for Halloween (1978), and Friday the 13th part 1!

And now, on to today's Topic / Question:

What do you think is the best Halloween Activity?

Some might immediately think Trick or Treating, which is a fine answer, but my personal favorite "Halloween Activity", really is more of an October Activity, and that is just relaxing on the couch watching Halloween movies!

Have a great day, friends! Happy Jack O Lantern Day!

My new favorite Halloween activity is driving around our town looking at Halloween lights! This wasn't possible a decade ago, but Halloween has exploded in popularity to the point that almost as many people put up Halloween decorations as Christmas now.

I also enjoy getting outside in the cool October evenings and looking for the perfect Bers sunset.

Good Morning! Edge brings up a great point. With the conclusion of Jack O Lantern Day yesterday, we are now 1/4 of the way to Halloween! Don't believe me? A quick math check should put all doubts to rest:

10/31/21 - 11/31/21 - 1 month
11/31/21 - 12/31/21 - 1 month
12/31/21 - 1/31/22 - 1 month!

That's right, ONE Quarter of our journey towards Halloween has already been logged in the books. That's crazy! And that's the "bonus months" we talk of so often!

There was plenty of feels to go around last night with Jack O Lantern Day. I'm already looking forward to the next one. And Jack O Lantern Day #2 will return in 58 days! Not even two months! And my next trip to Hogwarts will be in 54 days when we begin the next installment of Dark Arts Sunday!

I think it is pretty cool to be "this far along", especially armed with the knowledge that better stuff is up on the horizon. More Holidays, more Fun, More Feels!

Have a great day!

Does anyone remember that show "Are You Afraid of the Dark?" As a kid, some of the episodes were creepy, but I don't think it ever crossed over into genuinely "scary" territory for me.

I might do something with that for the next JOL Day. There was a reboot of the show not too long ago; I might give it a try, marathon-style, and see if it's any fun.

Oh yes! When I first moved where I live now, my next door neighbor and I watched it as kids! I think the opening is genuinely scary! And I think some of the episodes were really scary, even for a “kids show”! I believe that spurned my interest in horror and the paranormal, that would follow me the rest of my life!

I remember watching "The Tale of the Twisted Claw" and freaking out when the kid inadvertently wished his dead grandfather back to life, and then hearing his footsteps outside the door.

There are certain elements of that show that I'll never forget, like Zeebo the Clown, Zeke the Plumber, and Sardo ("accent on the -do!") the magician.

Zeke the plumber was from the other Nick show called “salute your shorts”. But I’m so glad you watched this too! It was a great show as well! And yes, Zeke scared me as a kid!

You're right! I completely forgot. I just remembered the weird Zeke the Plumber mask, and as soon as you mentioned "Salute Your Shorts" I remembered that it was the camp counselor who turned out to be pretending to be Zeke all along. That was another great show even if not Halloween related.

I also just remembered another episode of "Are You Afraid of the Dark" - remember the X-Ray specs? That episode freaked me out a bit.

I’m pretty sure I do remember that one! The girl sees those figures dressed all in black standing over her bed, right? That part was creepy. The tale of the lonely ghost was pretty scary too!

Ok! I think I’ve got to watch are you afraid of the dark, maybe in the next run up to Jack o lantern day! Thank you for the trip down memory lane!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! It's Wednesday again. Already half way through the 1st week of the new month.

A quick check of the countdowns still confirms what I've known all along - we are still moving in the right direction. We're also getting pretty close to another BIG Milestone, and that's the 200 days to The Bers milestone. Not even two weeks now. I won't gush on and on about it, we have a whole Bers thread for that.

Edge pointed out that it is staying light out now of an evening, for a pretty good while. That is exciting, and even more so if the Groundhog predicts an early Spring. We're in the 50's here all this week, which will feel like a heatwave after we had one of the coldest January in years. Spring is an exciting time because it shares so many similarities with The Bers. And from this morning's write up, there are just 46 days to go until Spring. I can almost smell the 2 stroke gas and hear those lawn mower engines running!

Have a great day today, and try and keep a Halloween thought in your head!

Happy Groundhog Day. This tends to be my official day of being tired of winter. Good timing though since we're getting a snowstorm like in Groundhog Day. Sadly that rodent said six more weeks of winter. Bet you can't guess what movie I'm going to watch today! Nope! The answer was "Groundhog Day." Good guess though. Enjoy your day all!
