DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 32
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 9

Happy Haunted Weekend! Today folks we have 32 days to go until Thanksgiving and 9 days remaining until November. Our next milestone will be on Thursday. It will be our FINAL Tom Turkey Day (#11) of the entire thread. Amazing. But for now we’re here on Sunday looking forward to the second half of our weekends aren’t we? And hopefully it will be a good one for all of you. The week ahead looks to be like this: Monday – Weekly Countdown, Tuesday – Picture Day, Wednesday – Poll Day, Thursday – Thanksgiving Thought Thursday. Kind of how it’s shaping up the rest of this thread I think. Any changes/additions/deletions are up for grabs beyond that. All up to you and your suggestions. In fact, Tom Turkey Day only started because of Rich. See? This isn’t my thread. It’s all of ours. I simply post the countdown each day. Now for all of you turkey fans we move ahead in our Awesome Autumn and it’s been quite an awesome one. Maybe we should change our idea of Winter here to “Walking Through Winter” to emphasize how it slows down time for us (in a good way), Spring we already had this year our “Stress Free Spring”, Summer of course “Summer Sweatfest” and Autumn “Awesome Autumn.” They all have a ring to it don’t they? And then we have our “Happy Holidays” from Thanksgiving Day through New Year’s Eve. I think that might be how we go with it. Have a great Haunted Weekend!
Fall Sweatfest starting today!

Gobble Gobble! Add me to the list of people who were overjoyed to see the "big" turkeys in the freezers at the grocery store! Just about one month from today now!

Have a great Sunday!

I had some points accumulated so I bought a ham and another turkey from Organic Prairie. I think I'm set for Thanksgiving and Christmas with two turkeys, large ham and two beef tenderloin roasts. I also have frozen shrimp and lobster.

I made a huge grocery run and bought ingredients for baking. I'll need to do another trip closer to Thanksgiving, probably the week before, for dairy and fresh fruit and veggies.

Our local grocery store is so decorated for Halloween and Thanksgiving but I'm seeing some Christmas stuff hit the shelves.

I also bought some goodies from Harry & David for guests.

My local grocery store posted their Thanksgiving Meal offerings, I am so excited. I had been checking the website but come to find out it was on their Facebook page! I had myself convinced they weren't going to post anything until after Halloween.

Looks like the increases are between 6%-15% depending on the meal and the turkey offering have increased more than the ham. I haven't made any decisions yet, but for this is something I have been waiting for!

Looks like the prices are only a little bit higher than if you made them yourself especially when you factor in the time.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 31
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 8

Happy Week Before Halloween! Today folks we have 31 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 8 days to go until November. Our next milestone will be on Thursday of this week when we reach Tom Turkey Day #11 (our final one of this thread). Unbelievable. And of course, it’s Monday here in our Awesome Autumn so let’s talk about our Weekly Countdown Till Thanksgiving Week which now stands at 4. Wow. 4 folks. That’s not a ton of weeks but still we have almost a full month of weeks to go. So we have time. I’ll keep saying we have time until we’re out of time. But that won’t be this week for sure! We still are in October all of this week so let’s enjoy it and not rush to our much anticipated month of November. We’ll get there when the time is right. Now for all of you turkey fans trying to get your week off on the right foot I hope that you are able to and you’ll be here all week with us to have fun along the way. Without all of you this thread wouldn’t be much at all. Just me rambling and talking to myself. At least I have all of you to ramble and talk to all year long. Turkey fans keep it going this week. Do not rush a single moment in time. Because our time is drawing closer and closer by the day. Soon it’ll be hour by hour and then minute by minute (and second by second). Have a great Week Before Halloween!

It's the time now in the grocery stores, here at Martins (My favorite grocery store), that we start accumulating points and seeing if we qualify for our free turkey or ham. We have a 26 pound turkey that I bought last year that is in the freezer, so really I am only concerned about getting our free spiral ham. We usually eat the free ham in January for Rudolph Day. So we've got to check the points this weekend, it's pretty easy to accumulate points!

Have a great day, friends!

Wowsers! Only 4 more weeks until Thanksgiving week. The anticipation is really starting to grow. I think I need to start my turkey hunting this week at Walmart. I really want to have that off my list of things to do.

Friday when I was home recuperating, I watched a Thanksgiving Day parade and ate turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes for lunch. In doing so, I think I messed up my internal holiday clock. I keep thinking that Thanksgiving is over and why aren't the radio stations playing Christmas music? :p

This week Halloween will still get its due, but Thanksgiving is not too far from my mind. I've already started thinking about my mac and cheese recipe for this year and what blend of cheeses I'll use.

Heck, I've already started thinking about "Halfsgiving" next year and wondering if I should go ahead and buy an extra turkey for that. I'm going to go broke buying all these turkeys...
