It was cold here yesterday. I worked outside in it for a while, and still have a few chores to do for today. I like working in the cold better than the heat, that's for sure.

6 weeks to go until Thanksgiving week? Unreal. Fall is going by too fast :(

We broke down last night and turned on the furnace. We made it three days later than last year before we needed heat. I knew we were on borrowed time since several days ago lol.

Have a great day!
I went to turn my furnace on on Saturday when it was warm enough to run it with some doors and windows open to get the dusty smell out before I needed to actually turn it on Saturday night/Sunday morning and it didn't run. I had problems last year with the blower fan and the coils needed deep cleaned, then I had problems with the condenser this summer. I had hoped I had a couple more years but this might be it. I think it is 17 years old, if I remember correctly.

Oh dear, I hope it can be babied another year. I know most people would not need it, but because this state is so dry, I got a humidifier added when I got my new furnace. I can't believe how much more comfortable that made a lower temperature. It was a great investment.

Six weeks is amazing,

I will remember that! Thanks

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 44
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 22

Happy Double Digits October! Today folks we have 44 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 22 days to go until November. Our next milestone will be in a dozen days when we reach the Home Stretch till November. Right now though folks we’re solidly in October and also in our Awesome Autumn. Really hitting the heart of it now aren’t we? Weather cooled off a lot for many of us. Fall and Football both are taking center stage now. Halloween traditions are really getting going. It’s an amazing time of year. And I hope all of you realize today is Tuesday which can only mean one thing in this thread. And that is Picture Day. It’s time for everyone to send us those pictures in of Autumn and Thanksgiving. Anything related to this most wonderful season of the year (sorry to steal that from Christmas). But it’s definitely in everyone’s heart in this thread. Turkey fans I hope you had a good start to your week yesterday and are ready for the second day while contributing lots of pictures today. I’ll send some in later like always. And for now I just want all my turkey friends to enjoy their Tuesday as much as possible. Thanks for being here today and the best to all of you on this wonderful and glorious October Autumn day. Have a great Double Digits October!

Merry Tuesday! I think no proper Thanksgiving or Christmas Dinner is complete without this bad boy! I love the jellied Cranberry sauce! I remember the first year of the pandemic, I'm not sure what happened but it was really hard to find this stuff.

Have a great day!

This, my friends, is a Popeye's Cajun-style turkey. You all have heard me gush about my love for this turkey before, and every year it has now become tradition for me to pick one up. Well, they are now available.

You do not want to order one online. Popeye's has marked up the price to an exorbitant amount ($99.99)! Go to whatever local Popeye's is closest to you and ask to purchase one there. It will still be expensive, but it's $50 less. If you are turkey-challenged like me, or just don't want the hassle of cooking your own, it's well worth the cost. Did I mention it's delicious?

(Hey, Popeye's... I'll take my royalty check now.)

Alright, maybe I'm making Thanksgiving too commercial today, but this is the closest I get to cranberry sauce. Winter Spiced Cranberry Sprite is my favorite soda ever. It's just so good. It should be out soon, hopefully. I have been hunting for it since October started.

Just two of my favorite items that make this time of year so much more enjoyable!
