• Operation Christmas Cheer
I am going with B- Thanksgiving Day and I am especially excited that 3 weeks from it will be Thanksgiving Eve and I hope to be hosting my first Appsgiving (just having some family over for appetizers and socialization).
Appsgiving is so much fun. I have done that with my bil for the last 15 years. I actually don't host but always bring a few appetizers when i go over.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 21

Happy Nifty November! Today folks we move along and see our countdown (singular tense) at 21 days remaining until Thanksgiving. We’re next folks. And our next milestone will be the Home Stretch till Thanksgiving. We move along in our Awesome Autumn feeling good and enjoying where we are with our Thanksgiving Thought Thursday!

When a holiday ends there’s always some leftover feeling to it. Like when 4th of July ends I really hold on to it a little. Same for Halloween right now. And Christmas? That’s the king of holding on to something when it ends into the depths of winter. But Thanksgiving? It’s the one holiday that really when it ends everyone moves on so fast (maybe not even by choice). I’m one of the few weirdos who feels a tiny bit sad on Black Friday only because I love Thanksgiving so much.

Turkey friends thanks for being here today. And everyday. I love to see the new 2024 Halloween Countdown up and running. It’s awesome. And we are here still in our current countdown in Thanksgiving. Any ideas for OUR new thread here message me any time. Always welcome. Have a great Nifty November!

I think my thought for today comes easily. Last night while taking down the Halloween decorations, I took a minute to relax, and while Holly was in the kitchen cooking, I just honestly had a "Thanksgiving Wave" wash over me. It might have been because the Christmas Tree is now up and lit up, but It was very easy, especially with this weather, to imagine that tomorrow morning would be Turkey Day. Does anyone else ever feel the "Thanksgiving Wave" of energy / aura? Have a great day!

I actually kind of hold on to Thanksgiving a little. I always take a long weekend. I usually have a second Thanksgiving meal on Friday or Saturday too. I always call that weekend my Thanksgiving vacation. Although it mostly becomes about Christmas, there is still a little of Thanksgiving scattered throughout those Christmas vibes.

This week as been kind of weird for me. I am still hanging on to some Halloween vibes but I am feeling those Christmas and Thanksgiving vibes full on. It is a smorgasbord of feelings. Lol. Those Halloween vibes are holding on for dear life. They should be gone by the weekend.

I got all except one outside Thanksgiving decoration up last night. The inflatable turkey is all that's left.

All of our Halloween decorations are still up. DH and I went Christmas shopping last night after dinner. We have a HS football game tonight so it will not be until tomorrow after work that we the down the Halloween decorations and put up the fallish/Thanksgiving decorations.

Just found out that my sil and her family may not be with us this Thanksgiving now. Her BIL is looking to come visit her DH and their parents for Thanksgiving so if he does she will be cooking at her home and having her in laws over. So as of now there are 8 of us definitely for Thanksgiving with another 2 that are questionable.

I think this time of year might be the weirdest time of year (first half of November) because if you're a Halloween crazy you're holding on to it while getting excited about Thanksgiving and yet the Christmas Season is right upon us all at the same time!

I love Thanksgiving and try to hold on to those thankful feelings all year around.

Today I had the sweetest Thanksgiving-adjacent experience. My oldest grandson called to discuss a struggle he is having and at the end he said, "Thank you for always being there for me. You are truly my northern star." Made my day and flooded my heart with gratitude for this sweet boy.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 20

Happy November TGIF! Today folks we have 20 days remaining until Thanksgiving. Big time folks. Well speaking of big time our next milestone is big time and it is in 10 days. Yes, that is half the amount of days left we have in our countdown thread. And it will be the Home Stretch till Thanksgiving. Just incredible my friends. But that’s not now. And that’s not the weekend either so let’s not worry about it. This time of year turkey friends in our Awesome Autumn we need to hold on to every single thing we can. Like every little cranberry from our cranberry sauce. And every little tiny piece of turkey from our big gobbler. We are truly in November friends and heading towards a wonderful weekend of The Bers and Autumn. The Holiday season is starting to approach but we’re holding on to Autumn as much as we can while seeing the farewell to Halloween and yet the beginnings of Christmas starting to show up. And in the middle of it ALL? Thanksgiving Day. The most tremendous day of the year. What a spot we’re in folks. Maybe the first half of November should be called the SWEET SPOT? No offense to September. We begin our quiet 3-day weekend period here folks and my goal this weekend is to not go beyond 5 miles from my house at any point. That is how laid-back I want it to be. Have a great November TGIF!

Alright, turkey fans. This is OUR time. I've already secured my Popeye's cajun turkey and made two test batches of mac and cheese (with a 3rd batch coming next week), and I've got Miracle on 34th Street on Blu-ray now, ready to go for the big day. My wife has also started with the testing and is making a test apple pie next week.

20 days? Let's goooooooooooo!

Getting prepared!

We were looking at the calendar earlier today. I'm off two days next week for Election Day, and Veterans Day, and then the week after that is the last full week before Thanksgiving. Holy cow!

I was just thinking about how it is "Costco Mac & Cheese Season" now, a staple of our Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Rudolph Day meals!

Have a great evening!
