DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 284
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 257
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 196

Happy President’s Day Eve! Today folks we move along and see we have 284 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 257 days to go until November and 196 days left until The Bers. Our next milestone will be on Thursday folks when we welcome in Tom Turkey Day #3! But for now we move along in our Winter Wonderland with plenty of cold and snow this week. And our quiet weekend period part 2. Looking forward to just some fun simple posts in this thread today without the topics of the week. Of course, we’ll get to those topics soon again starting on Monday and lasting all the way through Friday. But my goodness it’s Sunday so we should focus on that and enjoy it as much as possible. And that is the way we do things in this thread. One day at a time. And enjoy each one as much as you can. We’ll try to do that today and keep simple thoughts of gobble gobble in our heads. That’s the best sound we ever hope to hear. And turkey friends I hope your weekend is going well so far. And that you enjoy the rest of it. The weather here is getting a little better but we will see how everything goes. For now just hoping for no more snow and slightly milder temps to come. That’s the plan at least. Have a great President’s Day Eve!

Hmm… Nothing good on TV today. What shall I watch? Let’s check the DVR. Ohhh! I know…

Hope those of you with a three day weekend are enjoying it. I had to work part of the day yesterday and I need to work a bit tomorrow, but it is stuff I enjoy so no complaining! I know I am blessed and I need to get stuff taken care of before heading out next Saturday on vacation.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 283
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 256
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 195

Happy President’s Day! Today folks we have 283 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 256 days to go until November, and 195 days left until The Bers. Our next milestone will happen this week on Thursday when we welcome in Tom Turkey Day #3. Looking forward to it but right now focusing here on Monday in our Winter Wonderland. A holiday for some people. But we start off Monday the way we start it off every week here in this thread (no matter if it is a holiday or not) by giving our Weekly Countdown till Thanksgiving Week which stands at 40 weeks friends. It’s a big one today. Wow. That is amazing. The big 4 0. Ahh you know what’s cool? The weekly countdown ages backwards. Don’t we all wish we could age the same way? Well turkey friends the saying is you are only as old as you feel and this site makes most of us feel 12 years old all year long. The excitement of all the holidays celebrated on this site makes everyone smile. It’s hard not to. And we get to talk about it all year long. I made it through my first real Sunday without any football since Labor Day Weekend. It wasn’t bad. It made me realize we need to go to the offseason of football now to build back the excitement for its eventual return. Turkey friends have a great day. Have a great President’s Day!

Yesterday was an interesting day. I think I had the first "wave" of PCB's since early on Christmas evening. I spent a lot of time yesterday afternoon reminiscing about The Bers, and maybe too much, as I really did feel some pangs of PCB in the middle of the afternoon. I knew it was bound to come eventually, I made it almost through February without them hitting. But we're in the last full week of the month now, in Spring those PCB's still can show up but they are decidedly different, they are replaced by "Feels", especially as Christmas Hunting begins. Speaking of that, I'm venturing into Hobby Lobby today for the first time since the beginning of December. I imagine that I will begin "Christmas Hunting" probably in just about 40 days!!

Have a great Monday!

I hope identifying your feelings and a trip to Hobby Lobby will shake those PCBs off.

Time marches on. :) 40 weeks feels pretty nice, but it'll feel even better when we break the seal on that 30s count next Monday.

I've dodged the PCBs so far, but I know if I let myself sit and think about the Bers and Christmas too much, they will come home to roost. The month of March will be tough for me; I'll be thinking a lot about Christmas Hunting, but I don't plan on setting for inside my local Hobby Lobby until the end of April. Our location is now notorious for being late with their Christmas stuff.

Michelle and I went to HL the other day to get some St. Patrick's Day decorations and I couldn't stop myself from circling the store looking up at all the empty bins hoping to catch a glimpse of some Christmas. But there was none to be seen.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 282
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 255
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 194

Happy Fine February! Today folks we move along and see that we have 282 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 255 days left until November, and 194 days to go until The Bers. Our next milestone will be the day after tomorrow (known by some as Thursday). And it will be our Tom Turkey Day #3. It will be fun for sure. But we move along in our Winter Wonderland feeling good here and its Picture Day friends. Yes, that’s the #1 thing I love about Tuesdays. Picture Day! And I hope you all will help fill up this thread with plenty of pictures you have of Autumn and Thanksgiving. Our 2nd day of the week is one of the highlights of it because everyone loves Picture Day here. And turkey friends I hope you aren’t freezing too much out there. To be honest we haven’t had a brutally cold winter but it’s been pretty consistently kind of cold. And I guess you can say well that’s somewhat normal for winter. But I will think turkey thoughts which warm me up in winter. Kind of makes me want to cook a turkey too. We have one just have to find the right time. It’s in the freezer. And turkey friends I hope you are all enjoying the 2nd day of your week. And thanks for being the most awesome people in the entire world. Have a great Fine February!

2024 is the year of Silent Hill! In addition to the remake of Silent Hill 2, I completely missed this teaser trailer they dropped at the end of January for the next movie, Return to Silent Hill, which is the big screen adaptation of Silent Hill 2. There's a reason why that one is the best in the series.

Going back into the Hobby Lobby was interesting. It is a place that I associate SO MUCH with Fall & Christmas. They had some sunflower items out with the Spring Stuff, and I know it's supposed to be Spring, but the sunflowers reminded me SO MUCH of THE BERS, especially since I plant sunflowers in Summer and they are always ready by early Fall.

I wasn't expecting to see anything in the tubs or hiding anywhere in the store, it's just way too early, but another exploratory visit at the very end of March might yield some better info / findings.

I always begin Christmas Hunting the very first week in April. I believe it was last year that I found Christmas Stuff, even if it was "Just" up on top in the tubs the very first couple of days of the month. I think two years ago they were as late as even having the tubs out in May. I usually live vicariously through @Rich and some of the other posters who have local HL's that start earlier.

It's sad when I go in there and don't find anything Christmas, even in the tubs, but it just means that I have to come back and it's exciting to think I might have better luck in a week!
