That had to be awful. Years ago we made a weekend trip to a place that served whole turkey dinners 365 days a year. The ladies that cooked told us they averaged 12 whole turkeys a day. Years later I returned and the whole dinner was freezer burnt and had that weird taste. All those ladies had retired and the younger part of the family was running it into the ground. They only made turkey 1 day every 2 weeks and froze it.

Happy Valentine’s Day! Today folks we have 288 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 261 days to go until November, and 200 days left until The Bers. It’s Milestone Day folks as we have arrived at the 200-Day window until The Bers. Pretty amazing but you know what that’s what happens when you have a countdown that STARTS in the 2’s instead of the 3’s. Our next milestone will be in 8 days when we reach Rich’s favorite: Tom Turkey Day #3. We look below for our Weekly Wednesday Poll during this mid-week Winter Wonderland style!

When do you realistically start thinking about the upcoming Bers Season?​

  • January 1 (as soon as they’re over)​
  • 200-Day Marker (today)​
  • 100-Day Marker (May 24th)​
  • 50-Day Preview of The Bers (July 13th)​
  • I’m going with D. I think that really has become my tradition. And as much as I love The Bers I don’t look to wish away our upcoming spring or summer. But that’s just me. What about you? Of course, part of me ALWAYS thinks about The Bers. Turkey friends enjoy the middle of your week. Have a great time today and be safe. Have a great Valentine’s Day!​
 
I wish I could give two answers. Firstly, hitting the 200 day milestone like we did today is a HUGE deal, and to think that we are in 100's territory beginning tomorrow does so much for me mentally. But I think honestly the 100 Day Marker is when I start really having it on my brain. It just feels so close then. All through the year, my brain, my inner head space is divided up between The Bers and Christmas. You can almost smell the woodsmoke from out here.

I think the 100 Day marker is my "final" answer. Have a great day, and Happy Valentine's Day!
 
The Bers are on my mind 24/7, but realistically, the closest answer on the list is C, the 100-day marker. Oddly enough, that's not my "true" answer, because for me it's really Memorial Day a.k.a. the reopening of "the road to the Bers" when I truly start thinking seriously about them. At that point, all we have is summer to get through, and my only thought is that the Bers are waiting on the other side.
 
I am with @Irish75, I am always thinking about the Bers, not wishing the time away kind of thinking about it, but seeing something and thinking oh, that would be cool to do, or I would really like that or here is a great Bers recipe, those kind of thoughts. Like when @DecemberisComing showed the pixs of the gallon jug ghosts and pumpkins with lights in them, there I was down the Bers rabbit hole.

Happy Middle Day Of February! Today folks we move along and have 287 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 260 days left until November, and 199 days to go until The Bers. That 1 looks amazing doesn’t it? Our next milestone will be in 1 week (another 1) and will be our Tom Turkey Day #3. Looking forward to it right? But friends of turkey please enjoy today in our Winter Wonderland here in the middle of February. Right in the smack middle of it now with 14 days behind us and 14 days in front of us. I hope you all are having a good week so far and enjoying your winter. I am. I am enjoying it because I’m thinking of the fact we had a great Superbowl, a snowstorm to enjoy for a change and some people will get to enjoy a 3-day weekend next weekend. Below is our Thanksgiving Thought Thursday!

Thanksgiving is a day where we should give thanks. But we really should give it all year. I think that’s what I love about Thanksgiving is it makes you realize how thankful you are for the things you have in your life when maybe you take them for granted the rest of the year. My advice is don’t take them for granted. Learn from Thanksgiving.

Feeling thankful today and everyday as much as I can. Friends have a great time today. Have a great Middle Day Of February!​
