Happy August TGIF! Today folks we move along and see that we have 118 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 91 days to go until November, and 30 days left until The Bers. Our next milestone will be huge which will be the 100-Day Marker till Thanksgiving. That’s not for 2 and a half weeks though. We move along in our Summer Sweatfest with our Fun Fact Friday below!
Abraham Lincoln proclaimed Thanksgiving a national holiday on October 3, 1863. Sarah Josepha Hale, the woman who wrote “Mary Had A Little Lamb,” convinced Lincoln to make Thanksgiving a national holiday after writing letters for 17 years.
Well that’s interesting. And that song brings back memories. Growing up hearing it all the time as a kid. Didn’t know who actually wrote it. And somehow she convinced Lincoln? I sometimes wonder how people even know these things. But that’s quite interesting for sure. And now it’s like the biggest holiday there is. Right friends? Wow, imagine being so passionate about making something a holiday that you write to the president of the United States for 17 years. I guess Lincoln was the right president to write to. I'm glad that he listened!

Happy August Weekend! Today folks we move along and see that we have 117 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 90 days left until November, and 29 days to go until The Bers. We move along here into our Quiet Weekend Period. And we move along in our Summer Sweatfest with it being sweaty in my office yesterday with a/c failure happening. Terrible. But I went home early so that was ok. Our next milestone will not be for a while as we have to wait till the 100-Day Marker till Thanksgiving. That’s still in almost 2 and a half weeks. Friends I hope you are doing well today. And I hope you are happy on this Saturday. That should be your focus this weekend. And trying to enjoy today. Make the most of the day today. Don’t worry about tomorrow. It’s been a hot one friends. It’s going to be hot this weekend here too. I’m used to it by now. Sweating is a thing here this summer unless you are in a/c. Still one of the best inventions I ever heard of is A/C. And I love it very much. May you all have a great day today. And look at the positives of the day. Ignore the negatives as much as you can. And don’t worry about the future nor the past. Just live in the present and make the most of it. Thanks turkey friends for being my backup and being awesome as you always are. That's a good debate what is our "favorite" time of year...I always debate myself!
August starts my weekly check for take and bake Thanksgiving meals at a local grocery store. I like to check and compare the prices from year to year and I like to have the info in the back of my mind before I find out who will be able to be around on actual Thanksgiving, that way if it is a quiet year I can decide what will make the day the best.

Happy August Sunday! Today folks we move along and see that we have 116 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 89 days left until November, and 28 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Summer Sweatfest with Quiet Weekend Period Part 2 of 2 with our next milestone still being well over 2 weeks away. That’s ok. This is the time of year you want to slam the brakes so we go slowly into The Bers when they do eventually arrive. We’re having a birthday party for my uncle. Should be fun. Ordered food and a cake. And going over with a couple of friends of the family who are coming. Got a few gifts. A few games we’ll play and a bunch of laughs. Sounds like a good family Sunday to me. I wish all of you a great day today. Stay well in the 2nd half of this weekend and I wish you all the best today and hope you come back for the entire week ahead of great topics that we’ll have ready for you as always. Turkey friends time to get weekending. Don’t forget that it’s time to have fun on the weekend and enjoy what you have. Family, friends, pets, parties, social stuff or relaxation.
