Sounds like it will be a fun time! How about making 2 smaller birds rather than one big one? If 2 will not fit, cook one ahead of time and remove all meat from bones, then cook the other bird on Christmas day and serve together with the bird already cooked and reheated. After a glass or two of wine yesterday my husband invited his whole family to dinner on Christmas Day this year - and even though rather early to make plans I thought, they all accepted. I am looking at around 12 people total. Problem is, we had a new kitchen fitted last year and it has a built in oven and hob, somewhat smaller than my previous freee-standing, two-oven job. Just realised I won't be able to get the turkey in!
