After a glass or two of wine yesterday my husband invited his whole family to dinner on Christmas Day this year - and even though rather early to make plans I thought, they all accepted. I am looking at around 12 people total. Problem is, we had a new kitchen fitted last year and it has a built in oven and hob, somewhat smaller than my previous freee-standing, two-oven job. Just realised I won't be able to get the turkey in!
Sounds like it will be a fun time! How about making 2 smaller birds rather than one big one? If 2 will not fit, cook one ahead of time and remove all meat from bones, then cook the other bird on Christmas day and serve together with the bird already cooked and reheated.

You might consider smoking the turkeys on a Weber grill outside. My husband and I do that every year. I have a great recipe that we have used since 1996, and it has never failed us yet! Our turkey is so moist and juicy and stays that way until it's all gone--which isn't long!

.....My back seems to have healed nicely and I'm ready for a dance! Binger?.....
If Jay is ready to dance, it's time for another opera installment, Bing.
Carl says he's ready, too. (Then again, he always is - that narcissistic camel!)

Good Morning Fellow Christmas Citizens.

Cooler this morning, but still nice where we currently stand at 52.
Our high has hit above 80 for 3 straight days but starting today we will return to more seasonal figures.

Days to the Season: 248
Days to Christmas Day:290
A mere 5 days away from the 1/3 Season mark.
Closer, ever closer.

Have a Terrific Tuesday, Friends!

How about getting an electric roaster pan. I have one and I have cooked a 22lb turkey in it with room to spare. The turkey was very moist but the skin does not get crispy like it does in a regular oven.

Good Morning everyone. 248 days till the season can't wait.

Crown- my seasonal figure looks like a coffee cup!

Careful, Bing! You're getting Carl all excited.

Good Morning, Friends.

A nice (but cloudy) 62 degrees here in Raleigh at this hour.
It LOOKS like rain but the weather services says no, until Friday.
We are supposed to reach a beautiful 78 by this afternoon.

Our mid-week count:
Days to the Season: 247
Days to Christmas Day:289
Barely over half a week until the 1/3 Season milestone.
Just ahead, guys!

Have a Wonderful Wednesday, Everyone!
And Holiday - if it's not too cloudy - join me in yet another peak-of-the-week view toward the weekend. Don't it look nice?

Good afternoon! Happy Hump Day!!! :hi: Crown, I would be glad to join you at the peak - what a view!!! :-D As long as the wind doesn't blow me over backwards!!!! GEESH!!!! And somebody turned the heat off!!! 70º yesterday & 35º today w/ crazy wind!!!! BRRRRRR!!

Hope you are all having a great week!!!

Hi Everyone...

didn´t go online this morning...so I am here in the evening....I hope all of You have a nice day and a nice evening.....I´m still in shock about the Amok thing in Stuttgart/Germany....

Hello everyone! I have been letting everyone know how many days are left until Christmas and I've been met with mostly good attitudes but, I do get the occasional "Shut Up!" Oh well, not everybody has the Christmas spirit all year like I do. I just ordered 3 new Christmas cd's to add to my collection and I can't wait to listen to them. Have a great day everyone!

Crank up that camel...

inthe words of the immortal maria Muldair,,,,

Put your camel to bed.

You're getting Carl sleepy, Bing.
And with warm weather coming, he's now talking about stringing his hammock between a couple of the shispering pines and taking afternoon naps.
(You haven't seen anything until you've seen a camel lying on his back in a hammock with all 4 feet stuck up in the air! << shudder! >>)

Oooh, opera.......do we need new costumes, tights, curtains, slipcovers........??? I can do you a nice line in black red and grey plaid (subtle and understated with a hint of frivolity..)

Good Morning Friends! Hope everyone is doing well. It's been cold here lately and we have gotten snow. 5 degrees out right now with the high being about 32 for today. Looks as if it will warm up into the mid 60's by next Tuesday. Although that can change very quickly here in Montana. I am sooo looking forward to Spring. Have a good day!
