Tom Turkey day kicks off the first "Trifecta" Of MMC Special Days here in January! Just one week away. And with this long, dark, and COLD month, I am ready for a dose of Holiday pick me ups! Have a great day!

We may not miss Thanksgiving when it ends, but I sure do miss it now. I find that out of the “Big 3,” the one that I daydream about the most is Thanksgiving.
Same here. I really love our Picture Tuesdays. It gives me that little shot in the heart that I need.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 314
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 288
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 227

Happy 2nd Half Of January! Today folks we move along and see that we have 314 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 288 days left until November and 227 days to go until The Bers. Our next milestone will arrive in less than 1 week when we reach Tom Turkey Day #2 on Thursday. We move along in our Winter Wonderland with our Fun Fact Friday below!

13 percent of Americans plan to order takeout or go to a restaurant in lieu of preparing Thanksgiving dinner.

Now this fact was posted a few years ago but I’m guessing that’s an average estimate on a regular year. Interesting. I think that sounds kind of high to me. I do know more people who go out on Christmas Eve for dinner than Thanksgiving, I think. Maybe I’m just old school and know going to a family for Thanksgiving at someone’s house is the only way to go. What do you think? Does it sound high or about right to you? And would you ever go out to eat for Thanksgiving if your family/friends wanted to? Interesting idea. Turkey friends I hope you are all doing well on this Friday and enjoying your time. Have a great 2nd Half Of January!

To be honest with you, I have always wanted to go out to eat on Thanksgiving at a place like Golden Corral, or some other buffet type place. I know several people who have eaten at Golden Corral on Thanksgiving and it was actually good and they had a great time.

However, I am a stickler on some values, and as much as it would be awesome to do, I don't want to support companies that don't give people the day off on things like Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc...

Maybe one day it will happen for us, but I have always been on the fence about going out to any stores on those special holidays because I think people should be home with their family.

Have a great day!

I was about to say literally the same thing. In fact, it almost happened last year. I think I shared the story on here about how our Thanksgiving Dinner was cancelled and my wife’s uncle just delivered some catered food instead. We were bummed that we weren’t going to get to see the rest of the family, and the catered food was not very good at all, so I was totally toying with the idea of going to Cracker Barrel for dinner, but ultimately we just stayed at home.

If things fell apart like that ever again, I’d probably do it and just hit up a restaurant, but I’d feel guilty about the people serving me who don’t have the holiday off. Everyone should be off for Thanksgiving.

Interesting!

That is totally foreign to me. I can't even imagine.

I'm not trying to start an argument or anything, but I imagine as time goes on, and the more it seems like people shift away from traditional things like Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc... that number will probably rise. I honestly hope I am in my grave before I see that number hit 50% or more, I can't imagine our special holidays being "just another day".

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 313
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 287
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 226

Happy Wondrous Weekend! Today folks we move along and see that we have 313 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 287 days left until November and 226 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Winter Wonderland with our next milestone arriving on Thursday with Tom Turkey Day #2 arriving at that time. We take a break here in our Quiet Weekend Period Part 1 of 2. I’ll try to visit my friend today for a bit but mostly this will be a closer to home weekend which is great. Comfortable and with snow coming Sunday is the perfect excuse to stay home and watch the NFL playoffs. But we’ll go out to lunch on Sunday before the snow really hits hopefully. And come home early to relax a good part of the 2nd half of the day. It should be fun and cozy. Turkey friends I trust your weekend is getting off to a good start for you. I wish you the best today as you go through this winter weekend with this winter delivering so far with cold and/or snow. A good amount of it here in the month of January so far. And still 2 full weeks of January to go. Turkey friends I wish you all a great day and a great weekend ahead. The best to you and yours as you plan out a fun and hopefully exciting (or boring/relaxing) weekend. Have a great Wondrous Weekend!

I 100% believe you are correct because we're seeing it more and more especially with the youngest generation of adults.

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 312
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 286
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 225

Happy Snowy Sunday! Today folks we move along and see that we have 312 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 286 days left until November and 225 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Winter Wonderland with our next milestone being Tom Turkey Day #2 on Thursday. Well friends it is Sunday so our Quiet Weekend Period Part 2 is here. Definitely a quiet day with snow approaching for many in the east today. And it should be a fun day of snow, cold, reading books, and playing games with good comfort food. Maybe this winter thing isn’t so bad huh? Kind of gives you more reason to want to chill out sometimes. I am good with that. Honestly, when you think about it today is a lot like Thanksgiving in that respect. And so is winter. Not a lot of days during the year where you are almost forced to stay home all the time but Thanksgiving and a snowstorm are definitely 2 of those days that many of us do. Turkey friends I hope your week went well and the weekend is continuing to go well for you no matter rain, snow, or shine. And I know you are looking forward to a new week of new topics but no rush to get there. Let’s enjoy where we are right now in the here and now. Have a great Snowy Sunday!

Happy Snow Day! Calling for 4 to 8 here today. It started about an hour ago, and it's only sticking on the sidewalks and grass for now. But it just got to freezing outside, so probably by this afternoon it's going to start piling up. I'm also off tomorrow from MLK day, so it's nice to just have a lazy Sunday and not have to worry about work.

Have a great day, friends! Up next is Tom Turkey Day #2!
