Happy Winter Weekend! Today folks we move along and see that we have 320 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 294 days to go until November, and 233 days left until The Bers. We move along in our Winter Wonderland with our next milestone arriving in a dozen days with Tom Turkey Day #2. But today is the start of our Quiet Weekend Period. This is Part 1 of 2 so let’s enjoy the ride here on this quiet weekend. What a week it was and now a weekend to relax but also get things done. We’re putting away our Christmas tree so that’s kind of sad. It’ll be 300+ days before we put it back up but that’s what makes it special. And of course, when we put it up, we’ll be right around Thanksgiving . And I think some of us in this thread kind of like Thanksgiving. Don’t you think? Maybe just a little bit. A tiny little bit. Turkey friends I hope you have fun weekend plans ready to go. Of course, you may have to throw in the usual laundry or food shopping etc. And then you can get what you need to get done while also having fun and relaxing. The perfect balance for a winter weekend if you ask me. Thanks for checking in today. And hopefully you’ll check in throughout the weekend on MMC and the Thanksgiving Thread. I'm with you @Edge612 . I mentioned it over in The Bers thread. Our tree is coming down too, Holly and I woke up this morning and was in agreement over it after getting the snow last night. The perfect "last day" for the Christmas tree because we are having soup tonight and it will just be nice and cozy.
Not looking forward to how I might feel tomorrow once the tree is down. This baby has lit the way since November 1st! That's a whopping 71 days of coming home and seeing the tree with its happy warm glow!

You'll have it up in less than 300 days! Better to take it down a week too early than a week too late (at least that's how I've felt over the years...the longer I wait the less I want to take it down)!

Happy Dozen Days Of January! Today folks we move along and see that we have 319 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 293 days left until November and 232 days to go until The Bers. Our next milestone will be in 11 days when we reach Tom Turkey Day #2. We move along in our Winter Wonderland feeling good and feeling fine. I got my tree down yesterday and cleaned up from everything that went on during the holidays. And it’s back to normal now with no signs of Christmas except for the Grinch I received this decoration that plays music so I kept that out as a reminder all year. But it had to be done. It’s Sunday my friends so it’s time for Quiet Weekend Period Part 2. And that’s a good thing. I really like Sundays. We’re doing an escape room this afternoon. We will have dinner out also and then come home for some early coffee and home to just chill out on the couch. And that’s really become like my favorite thing to be on the couch each evening with a book and a game (and my dog Damian). What more could someone ask for? Turkey friends we are here really heading towards the heart of the winter season. I am ok with where we are and don’t mind winter taking it’s time this year. As long as the wind stays mostly calm I’ll deal with the cold and/or snow. Have a great Dozen Days Of January!

Happy Dozen Days Of January! Today folks we move along and see that we have 319 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 293 days left until November and 232 days to go until The Bers. Our next milestone will be in 11 days when we reach Tom Turkey Day #2. We move along in our Winter Wonderland feeling good and feeling fine. You know something friend, I always say every year that I think I wish for Fall / Halloween / Christmas more than I do the previous year, but I think 2025 might be the most anticipation / yearning that I've ever had.
The arrival of things like Leon Day, Fall Pre-Season, and The Bers this year mean so much more to me. It's not just the arrival of the best time of the year again, but it also puts another stamp on me overcoming trials and tribulations, and hopefully overcoming what has been the hardest fight / opponent of my life. When I went through our hospital stay in 2022, those were the scariest days of my life. I had never been through anything like that. When we were discharged 5 days later, I hoped that I would never go through it again but I knew somewhere deep down that I would.
There's light at the end of the tunnel this time. And it's NOT an approaching train
. In around 138 days, my fight is going to be over. And for the last time. And that is going to make the holidays so much brighter, it's going to make me more appreciative and thankful than ever before. That's what I'm looking forward to.

Happy January Teens! Today folks we move along and see that we have 318 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 292 days left until November and 231 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Winter Wonderland with another cold week expected here in January. But kind of a dry week also expected. Not much if any rain or snow. Our next milestone will be in 10 days when we reach Tom Turkey Day #2. It’s going to be big my friends. Gobble Gobble. It’s Monday so let’s talk about our Monday topic which is our Weekly Countdown till Thanksgiving Week. It stands at 45 weeks friends. Halfway from 50 to 40 already huh? Turkey friends I hope you had a great weekend as I did. I took down my tree and decorations. It was the right time. I’d rather take it down a week earlier than a week later. That’s what I’ve learned for me the last several years. The longer I leave it up the harder it is for me to take it down. Turkey friends the best to you on this Monday. Feel blessed to be alive and on such a great site as MMC is. And with all friends here in January when nobody else in the world is thinking about the holiday season but we are J. I took down my decorations but I did leave my lighted garland on my mantel and made it winter themed. I like having the lights on at night...makes it cozy!
So true, Edge. Very few people are thinking about the holiday season right now, except for us here on MMC. Years ago I used to think I was the only one. I’m so glad I’m not alone in my thoughts anymore.

Happy Monday folks! 45 weeks is a lot but it's going to "feel" so different once that count gets down in the 30's. It's 37 weeks right now till October, 33 weeks to THE BERS beginning again, and 28 weeks to FALL PRE-SEASON. That still seems so far off, but 28 weeks doesn't feel so far away. I always think the time goes by faster AFTER we put a bow on January with those first batch of MMC Special Days!
I always err on the side of early too when it comes to taking down my Christmas decorations. One year I thought keeping them up longer would ward off the PCBs but I waited too long and I started to dread it and that made me even sadder.

I hope all of you are enjoying your week so far. It’s still early in the week of course. And it is still early in the year as we are still in the first half of January. And that’s ok as I always say to enjoy all the various times of year. Still seeing some Christmas lights up here but less than a week ago including mine which are down.
