Thanksgiving 2025 Thread

Over the weekend, something surprising happened. We had a vacation planned in October to go visit my wife's cousin and her family in Georgia, and we were going to attend her daughter's birthday party while we were there. The bad news is that she had a work meeting come up at the last minute that derailed her plans for the party and would cause her to push it back by a week. Since I couldn't rearrange my work schedule for October, we called off our Georgia trip.

The good news? She invited us for Thanksgiving instead! So now we have solidified our Thanksgiving plans this year and will be traveling up there for the entire week of Thanksgiving!

How has your September been so far?

The best I can ever remember.
It’s been great (as usual).
It’s been okay but I’m kind of anticipating the holiday months ahead of us more.
I’m not a big fan of September to be honest.

This would be A for me. I have always loved September but this year with the weather and news that my brother has already confirmed he’s coming for 11 days for Christmas it just feels better than ever. He never tells us this early, but we found out this week already he’s booked his flight. Have a great Double Digits September!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 77
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 51

Happy Sunny September! Today folks we move along and see that we have 71 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 51 days to go until November. We move along in our Awesome Autumn with our next milestone scheduled to arrive tomorrow with the Final Fifty till November. It’s Thursday folks so let’s do our usual Thanksgiving Thought Thursday below!

On the road again. That’s how I feel when we get past Labor Day Week. I always talk about our 10-week road from the week after Labor Day until Thanksgiving week. This year we got 11. So, we still have a full 10 in front of us. To me, this Autumn Road we’re really on is the best road of the year. It’s a lot longer than the holiday season road and a lot more fun than the winter road for sure.

I wish you all well this Thursday. I hope you are doing well this week and enjoying your week so far. I am loving this month. September has been awesome, and the best part is we still have 2/3 of the month to enjoy in front of us. Take it all in every single step here in the month of September. It's Thursday! Gobble Gobble! There hasn't been a Thursday this year where I haven't had some passing thoughts about Thanksgivings past and future. Pretty soon we are going to be talking about "The Menu". Last Thanksgiving, Holly had to be kind of careful with what she ate being pregnant, this year, there's obviously no restrictions like that so we will likely strap on the feed bag and make sure to wear pants that have elastic.

Happy Dozen Days Of September! Today folks we move along and see that we have 76 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 5 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Awesome Autumn with a big milestone day arriving today. We have reached the Final Fifty till November. Amazing. Our next milestone will be Tom Turkey Day #10. It will be less than 2 weeks from today so still a long way to go till the next milestone. It’s Friday folks so time for our Fun Fact Friday below!

Green bean casserole was created in 1955 by Campbell Soup and has since become a popular Thanksgiving side dish. Campbell’s sells over $20 million worth of cream of mushroom soup for Thanksgiving meals.

I love green bean casserole. It is not as popular as it once was in my family. Michelle doesn't like green beans, so I hardly ever get any.

DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 49

Happy September Teens! Today folks we move along and see that we have 75 days remaining until Thanksgiving and 49 days to go until The Bers. Our next milestone will be Tom Turkey Day #10 which is still down the road in a dozen days. We move along in our Awesome Autumn with it being Saturday and the first half of our Quiet Weekend Period Part 1 of 2. I love the quiet weekends and the portions of it that remain quiet as long as they can do so. I hope all of you are doing well and enjoying your weekend so far. It’s always a fun first half for the most part despite having to do that laundry and food shopping. I don’t mind either. But I kind of wish I had a turkey dinner tonight. We always have a good Saturday dinner but no turkey tonight. Ahh well such is life. And it would kind of ruin Thanksgiving to have it in The Bers without it being Thanksgiving. I like having one in the off season as you know. Turkey friends, I hope your week went well and that your weekend delivers everything that you want it to. We had dinner with my Mom on Thursday night and she "randomly" picked that as one of the sides. I love Green Bean Casserole!
