Happy June Finale! Today folks we move along and see that we have 149 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 124 days left until November and 63 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Summer Sweatfest with our next milestone set to arrive tomorrow with the month of July arriving. And arriving is the 2nd half of the year. You know when I think about all the things I love during the year 90% of them are in the 2nd half? I don’t think that it is overstating even a little. Yet, I really enjoyed the 1st half and found a lot of things to enjoy. I can’t imagine how I’ll feel the 2nd half when it’s loaded nonstop with stuff I love. It’s Tuesday folks so time for Picture Day. Share your pictures of all Autumn and Thanksgiving “stuff” today here in this thread as the real summer heat begins to pick up. It’s going to get hot, hot, and hot. That’s how I would sum it up as the week looks to be a boiling week moving forward. Monday was beautiful, so I took it all in and enjoyed it. I’m not someone who needs it to be 100 degrees but hey that type of weather is coming. It’ll be so hot you’ll do a turkey dance if you touch the pavement. It’s Milestone Day folks as we have reached the month of July and the 2nd half of the year. We’re here folks. And this is my question today about the 2nd half of the year. It’s time for our Weekly Wednesday Poll about the 2nd half of the year!

What are you most excited about in the 2nd half of the year?

I’m going to be the only one who chooses A I know. And the only reason I am choosing it (besides the fact I do enjoy summer) but the longer we stay in summer the longer we can have the entire Bers in front of us (B, C and D). Have a great July Arrives!​

Happy Early July! Today folks we move along and see that we have 147 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 122 days left until November and 61 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Summer Sweatfest (and boy is it getting sweaty) with our next milestone set to arrive on the 13th day of this month. Do I need to tell you what July 13th is? On this site it’s become like a holiday (and especially in the Holiday Hang Out). It will be when the 50-Day Preview of The Bers begins. I know that’s hard to imagine but it is coming soon. It’s Thursday folks so time for our Weekly Countdown till Thanksgiving Week. That stands now at 21 weeks. And you see where we are now. I always look at the 4th of July as a big turning point to Thanksgiving because it always coincides with the big 20 right around or just after the big holiday. Turkey friends I hope the start of your July went as great as mine did. It was hot and humid (and will be even more so today) but I really didn’t mind it. I’m sure I’ll reach that point where it’s too humid for too long but right now, I’m happy that it’s summer and that we have everything we love still in front of us including a big holiday weekend coming and then of course the big 50 Day Preview. Happy Thursday! Today is the final day of the heatwave for us here. It's supposed to get to 100 today. We got to 98 yesterday, and it felt hot, but I really felt like "that's not too bad". It wasn't terribly humid. I don't know if today is supposed to be humid or not. Either way, I'm glad it's over after today.

We still have 3 more days of this crazy heat but I'm not going to complain cause I complained how bitter cold it was all winter this year...Mother Nature is like here is this warm enough for you!?

Over summer already .. the grass is dying due to the drought but those weeds and growing and spreading like crazy and this oppressive heat and humidity makes it to nasty and unbareable to do anything outside.

According to a letter Ben Franklin famously wrote didn’t want the bald eagle to be the national symbol but instead the wild turkey. He said the bald eagle was a cowardly thief while the turkey was very brave and afraid of no other bird. Who did he write this letter to? his daughter

Well he spoke well of the turkey. Must give him credit for that. Anyway, his words against the bald eagle are a bit strong but maybe he was just a turkey fan like we are? I can’t blame him if he is. Turkey friends I wish you all a fantastic Friday with it being a holiday for some of us. A special day on the eve of Independence Day in the USA. And really the hardcore summer is about to be here now. And we all go on that long, hot, sweaty and humid road together with the 50-Day Preview of The Bers which is a tradition of summer. Happy July 3rd turkey people. Good lord its been a hot one the last few days. We were racing at Hagerstown last night and they started later hoping it would cool down. Of course it didnt but the sun was down so people werent passing out. Girls hit the garage early to get some work done and then the long weekend starts.

Happy 4th Of July! Today folks we move along and see that we have 145 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 120 days left until November and 59 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Summer Sweatfest with our next milestone set to arrive in 9 days. It’s D-Day folks to be honest at this point. It will be the big one. It will be the 50 Day Marker till The Bers and of course our annual 50 Day Preview of the Bers will begin in the Holiday Hang Out. I think it’s become many people’s favorite summer tradition on this site. It is something we’ll need in this hot summer to keep us cool (and running a/c will help). It’s been such a hot time and another really hot day today but hopefully we will get our BBQ in during the chance of thunderstorms later. It's Saturday folks so time for the 1st half of our Quiet Weekend Period. I’ll be checking out Joey Chestnut and watching some fireworks in town tonight. And having some normal Saturday stuff I do too. What a great and special day today could be. I hope you all are enjoying your day, and I wish you well this Sunday. Happy Post 4th! Today folks we move along and see that we have 144 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 119 days left until November and 58 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Summer Sweatfest with our next milestone arriving on the day the 50-Day Preview of The Bers arrives 1 week from tomorrow. It’s Sunday folks so time for the 2nd half of our Quiet Weekend Period. And I hope you all are ready for the 2nd part of this (not so) quiet weekend? It was mostly a busy Saturday here but a good one with the 4th, fireworks and a BBQ. The Sunday Group is heading to our favorite place to eat at which we go quarterly (each season). This is our summer trip, and BBQ will be the theme there. I may be BBQ’s out eventually after this weekend but hey leftovers who will turn that down? Not many will. Gobble Gobble my turkey friends I hope you are enjoying your weekend and this long holiday fun time that we are having. These long holiday weekends are always a special and fun reminder of the fun times we can enjoy during all different times of the year. We’re in the hardcore summer now folks. There is no doubt about that and we’re coming off some hardcore heat. Hopefully, closer to average will start to be normal for a bit. And that is still plenty warm enough. Have a great Post 4th!​
