Happy Post July 4th! Much cooler temperatures today and for all of this week. I really hope that those 100's were the hottest days of the summer. I say it all the time, but it really is rare here that we get above 90 degrees. The "actual" forecasted hottest time of our summer is still two weeks away, but we have some days next week that are only in the 70's, so the hope is that *maybe* we will have a normal summer and no more heat extremes.

It's just a little under 4 weeks to go now until Fall Pre-Season. My next immediate goal to home in on will be 50 DAYS TO THE BERS, which will be here NEXT MONDAY!! WOW

Thinking of July 4th in this thread made me imagine a Thanksgiving with BBQ dishes. Then my brain went down a rabbit hole and tried to name every dish.

Smoked Turkey (obviously)
Burnt Ends
Baked Beans
Grilled Corn on the Cob
Cornbread Dressing

…and that’s as far as I got. If you were making a Thanksgiving dinner around entirely barbecue-themed dishes, what would yours look like? I’m sure you all can come up with some better ideas than I had.

Your menu seems pretty perfect to me!

Although I do enjoy a kabob from the BBQ, maybe something with potato, mushrooms, squash, tomatoes?

I'd come over for that menu!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 143
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 118
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 57

Happy July Week! Today folks we move along and see that we have 143 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 118 days left until November and 57 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Summer Sweatfest with our next milestone set to arrive in 1 week. It will be when everything in the Holiday Hang Out turns to the 50-Day Preview of The Bers. It’s going to be amazing friends. It’s Monday folks so time for our YouTube Day below!

This caught my eye because there is this thing in our mall called “Gamebox” and one of the games they have is “The Floor is Lava” so I am not sure this is where this video got the idea from or not but it’s very similar. Fun little kids video clip and that’s always a good way to start the week I think here on Mondays and on YouTube Day. I hope you are all doing well my turkey friends and making the most of the start of your week. I hope you enjoyed a great holiday weekend. It truly felt like such a big turning point. And next Monday will feel like the biggest summer turning point. Gobble Gobble turkey friends. Have a great July Week!

This is actually really cool. A BBQ themed Thanksgiving dinner. I wonder if anybody anywhere has ever done this? Challenge accepted for 2026??

Also, I don’t know how on Earth I mentioned a BBQ-themed Thanksgiving menu and didn’t include MAC & CHEESE in the mix. It was probably the most obvious option to be included after the smoked turkey, and I just completely blanked on it. I am not doing my job as the resident mac & cheese promoter on this thread.

I'm a weirdo who doesn't eat mac and cheese!

DAYS TILL THANKSGIVING: 142
DAYS TILL NOVEMBER: 117
DAYS TILL THE BERS: 56

Happy Week Into July Today folks we move along and see that we have 142 days remaining until Thanksgiving, 117 days left until November and 56 days to go until The Bers. We move along in our Summer Sweatfest with our next milestone set to arrive in less than 1 week from the much anticipated annual 50 Day Preview of The Bers begins. It’s Tuesday folks so time for Picture Day. I can’t believe how cool it felt on Monday. Dare I say early autumn? I dare say that. After 95–100-degree heat temps in the 60s all day with rain and clouds made it feel a bit chilly. Relatively speaking of course. But let’s share those pictures of Autumn/Thanksgiving today folks despite it being a long way off it’s fun to see as our days are limited that we can feel autumn type of weather this time of year. So, it’s nice for a change when you do feel it. But the great thing is you can check in here all summer long (and year long) to see pictures on Tuesdays that remind you of that most special season of the year known as autumn. Turkey friends I wish you well on this Tuesday and hope your week is going well so far. I hope you all have a great day today and make the most of this summer day here as we are ending the 1st full week of July. Have a great Week Into July!

We had Costco Mac & Cheese just last weekend! It's amazing how just something as simple as that dish provides the holiday feels!

I haven't tried smoked cranberry sauce but have done a cranberry jalapeno glaze for a smoked ham. I have smoked eggs for deviled eggs and a box cake so, smoked cornbread might be good.

Been saving this for picture day. Last week when we went to Michael’s and saw that they were Halloween-ready, I passed by this display of Thanksgiving food. These are all candles, and they smell like the food that they resemble. In person, they almost look real. I had to convince my brain not to take a bite from the Bundt cake candle.

Ummm....did you mean to say January?? I'm not sure if you're having a joke with us, but I'm in no hurry to move ahead nor do I want to go back to January this year. Just curious.

I had some typos this week! :)
I hate it when my fingers type something completely different from what’s in my brain!! Happens a lot more than I like
