what´s up all? been to toysRus with my mom and Kandice....I wanted to maybe buy a Christmas present....but didn´t do it in the end.....we went for some hoagies after that...tasted quite good...

On Saturday my god-daughter told me that Santa Claus doesn´t exist....she´s six years old....She doesn´t really have any interessts...and is with a babysitter most of the time, because her mom has to work all the time...I feel sad for her...and tried to talk to her mom (my best friend) about this a lot...she´s aware of the problem...but won´t talk to her boss (who is her father) to change it....I mean not that she doesn´t believe in Santa or anything...but that she needs her mom a lot more...hopefully it will change next year...

On Saturday my god-daughter told me that Santa Claus doesn´t exist....she´s six years old....

Not believe in Santa Claus! You might as well not believe in fairies. You might get your papa to hire men to watch in all the chimneys on Christmas eve to catch Santa Claus, but even if you did not see Santa Claus coming down, what would that prove? Nobody sees Santa Claus, but that is no sign that there is no Santa Claus. The most real things in the world are those that neither children nor men can see. Did you ever see fairies dancing on the lawn? Of course not, but that’s no proof that they are not there. Nobody can conceive or imagine all the wonders there are unseen and unseeable in the world.

No Santa Claus! Thank God! he lives and lives forever. A thousand years from now, __________, nay 10 times 10,000 years from now, he will continue to make glad the heart of childhood.

as a single mom, I know that it is not easy to balance the need to support your family with the need to spend time with them. I was blessed in that my ex paid child support so I could get away with working part time as a school bus driver.
Finding good child care when you do have to work is so important. She needs to find someone who shares her values and will treat her daughter as she would herself. A supportive extended family also helps as well as good friends. Keep looking after that precious little one, she needs you and your loving support!

the single mom argument is true....but her parents are he3r bosses...they could easily let her work in the mornings...when the girl is in school....rather than the evenings when the girl is at home....the girl is with either with a babysitter....or with her grandma...or with the babysitter´s mom....all good-hearted people....but the girl is close to have this attention deficit syndrom...and needs a lot of structure in her life....and she doesn´thave it.....she´s in a different household almost everyday...and doesn´t even sleep at home most days of the week...She´s almost not under control right now....I don´t want to know how that dear girl is going to be at 10 or 15....I pray that it will get better.

Good Morning, All.

The rain has stopped (at least for the moment).
We got 2.4 inches of the wet stuff yesterday. Quite a deluge there for a while.
Again, our temp stands just below 70. The predicted high is 79 with more rain possible later today.

On with the count - and look! We are down to SINGLE DIGITS to the 1/2 way mark to Christmas Day:
Days to the Season: 149 (closer now to 100 than to 200!)
Days to Christmas Day:191

And Holiday. So soon - we are back again to the peak-of-the-week.
Please join me as usual at the 'Pines for some of Carl's delicious fired twinkies and Mauradio Sugar Cookies washed down with the sweetest iced tea this side of heaven.

The Crowns have lots of traveling coming up.

Volunteers will be needed!!

We are off for one final maintenance visit to our place at the coast tomorrow afternoon, and I will be away from the board Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Then, starting June 24, we will be in Florida for nearly 2 weeks!
Which means I'll miss the 1/2 Christmas Day milestone on June 26, curses!
(I'll be there in spirit, though)

Good morning, everyone!

I got back last night from a four day trip to the lake with my in-laws. We had a great time! We did a lot of boat riding, eating and sleeping. I'm still swaying like I'm in the boat. It always takes me a few days to get over a boat ride...well, it least it take me while since I turned 40 a few years back. cheesy

It's gonna be clear and hot today, mid 90's for sure.

I hope all my Christmas friends have a great Wednesday!

Well, after a few changes in plans, I'm off today with nothing to do! So I'm going to go hit up some garage sales! Maybe I'll find some surprise Christmas gifts or decorations! Have a very merry Wednesday!

I would hope to get my dress by December 24th!!! It is only June, right?? I haven't slept through a few months, have I???? :lol:
