Good Morning Halloween Friends! Happy Tuesday to you! Beautiful 63 degrees outside right now and getting to 84 degrees.

I'm enjoying that the cooler evenings and mornings have returned. Seems that they have arrived about a week sooner than last year. Waking up in the 60's, I realize just a few more degrees cooler and it would feel very much like September weather.

Time marches on here in the 1st full week of August. Our next milestone will be in 8 days when we reach 50 DAYS TO OCTOBER.

Hello Halloween Fans! I hope you are doing well. Monday was a nasty day here. Tuesday is the opposite. Beautiful sunshine. What a difference. I think weather affects people's moods because people seemed grumpy Monday and happy Tuesday. Happy Halloween!

Happy Hump Day, Pumpkin Folks! Mid-way through this first full week of August, and the weekend is on my mind!

You can see on our countdowns above, that our next milestone will be in just ONE WEEK as we reach 50 DAYS TO OCTOBER, the penultimate 50 day milestone in this current thread. There will be only ONE more 50 Day Milestone after that, which will be 50 days to Halloween, that we will reach on Friday, September 11th!

Today is another cooler day, reaching only 83, with rain showers off and on. Slowly but surely, we are climbing out of the drought, just like they predicted.

You know it’s almost Spooky Season when you see these guys on shelves. I haven’t found them locally yet, but apparently some folks here in town have been able to find Count Chocula and Boo Berry already. No word on Franken Berry yet.

Hello Halloween Fans! I hope you are doing well. It's a nice day here again. This is why I love summer though. Just not having to wear a jacket and go out in the sun. I guess that I'm warm-blooded as the a/c here freezes us this morning. Happy Halloween!

Good Morning Halloween Friends! It's Mini Friday! Every week on this day, I wait patiently for those afternoon vibes that shift into looking forward to Friday. The real reward!

I have a half marathon coming up on Saturday, I haven't done that distance since 2024. I'm a little nervous but I'm also excited because I have been training well and I've heard all of the pros rave about these gummies called "Honey Stingers" that supposedly help keep you from "hitting the wall".

If I'm not too broke up / sore from the marathon I'm going to continue decorating for Fall here! Our next milestone is under a week away!

Good morning Halloween Fans!

It is a lovely morning here. Only in the mid-60s right now. Though the heat will build in for the day, this morning feels great.

So, I am sitting on the back patio, drinking coffee, and listening to Halloween Music. Currently it is Vincent Price singing Monster Mash!

With football pre-season starting tonight you can really tell he are headed full speed into Fall!

Cool! I didn't know Vincent Price did a version of that.

I am a big fan too. The last couple of years I have tried to watch at least a couple of his old movies during the Halloween season. So good!

Something worth checking out is New Castle After Dark. There is a YouTube channel. It is 2 guys from New Castle Pennsylvania and they show old thriller/scary movies and talk about them. They do an intro and cut in a couple times during the movie to discuss the movie. Kind of the classic show type. They do a really nice job. They do 1 movie a month all year long. They have shown several of Price's movies over the years.

I had to check this out to see how they tiptoed around copyright restrictions ... citing "fair use" while showing an entire movie feels like skating on mighty thin legal ice!

It would be fun to put together something similar using a movie that's unquestionably in the U.S. public domain, though, like The Devil Bat ...

Fair use works in certain situations; commentary, parody, etc.
I know they had some legal advice before they really started everything up as well.
They have been at it for quite awhile, and every once in awhile there is a movie that gets removed.

I think this Friday is going to go by fast, and that's okay with me because even though I'm nervous about running 13 miles on Saturday, I am excited at the same time because Holly and I have some activities planned for after, to keep me loose.

I held off last weekend when I saw it, but I think finally that THIS WEEKEND we will start buying / stocking up on Halloween Candy. My favorite are the white Reese's pumpkins and ghosts, and oddly enough they show up plenty in August and early September, but after that they are GONE. So I might buy a couple of bags (or a dozen

) and keep in the freezer.

Double nickels on the way to October, friends! We're 5 days away from seeing the second-to-last 50 day milestone EVER in this thread!

The KitKat Ghost Toast is one of my newest favorites. I’m glad they brought that one back this year, even if I haven’t found any yet.

Guys, I know no one cares, but Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin is a HARD game! I’m trying to beat it in time for the next JOL Day, and I’m not even halfway through yet. I’m going to have to log some serious hours this weekend if I want to move on to the next game before September.

I care! I was actually curious about the difficulty level. I have a bunch of horror games I haven't played, but haven't yet. I want to play that Friday the 13th game but it seems like it would be difficult. Not to mention stressful. Even if it's fake I'm not sure I can stand the tension of trying to get away from Jason.
