Brad...that's so sad...I'm sorry to hear that....thoughts and prayers...reminded my coaches after I read that to make sure you don't practice when you see lighting....

Lightening is very frightening. Hmm, didn't mean to make that rhyme, but it's true. You don't always see it coming. I live in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada and not far from where the mother and two boys were struck. Very, very sad.

Good Morning everybody. I hope Y´all are alright and are ready to get the Friday behind You and then enjoy Your weekend!

take care and God bless Y´all

Christmasstar, that's terrible! I hope those boys get better soon. I've heard at lunch that this boy seems to be more-or-less ok physically. These was some lung damage, but it did not appear to be life threatening. They are hopeful that his brain was not without oxygen for too long.

You can bet I've learned my lesson about approaching clouds!

I know what you mean, I look at clouds differently now too.

Welcome Friday! William wasnt feeling that great yesterday. Seems better today! We bought him some more Christmas presents too. Well back to work. Have a great day!

good morning all!

it is going to be a hot one today, 27c and tons of humidity. Summer at last!
I am busy baking cookies and getting a potato salad started. Thought I would get the hot cooking stuff out of the way early in the day while there is still a hint of coolness in the air. Also went out to the garden and picked some lettuce and cherry tomatoes (which are finally ripening) cheesy

Good morning...off from work today cheesy My daughter has a friend over for the day so they are busy playing. We are having a yard sale tomorrow so I will be spending a good part of the day getting everything ready.

The other day I picked up a couple new Christmas decorations for the house from the Christmas Tree Shoppe. I found these little mason jars with a light, fake berries and ever green in them with a pretty painted scene on the front, Could not make up my mind which one I liked best and of course when I asked the kids for their help, One picked one and the other picked the other so I bought both!

Have a great day....

By contrast, Star, we may get a bit of a break from the heat today.
This should also be the last rainy day for a bit with only about a 20% chance of rain Saturday and Sunday.
It is 75 degrees here in Raleigh at this hour under cloudy skies.

Well, yet another milestone is upon us, guys.
That's right, we have arrived at the 3/4 Mark to the Season!
Wow! Seventy-Five percent of the way back 'round. Unbelievable!
Days to the Season: 91
Days to Christmas Day:133.

And what a way to end the work week.
Have a Fabulous Friday, Friends.
May your Weekend get off to a Wonderous start this afternoon!

I have a job interview at 10:30 at the college bookstore! Wish me luck! I really need this job!

Good luck, Hoosier! Or rather, good luck to them snagging such a great potential employee!

Have a cup of coffee before that interview.. makes you smarter...

I'm so excited to hear that we are 75% of the way back around to the season!! It doesn't seem possible that we have gone through so much of the year so far, but in looking back - the year really is just flying by.

I'm off to work for now and then maybe seeing some family that is in town later this evening. I'm not sure what their plans are, yet, so I don't know. It is so nice to see my family when they come. We only see them 1-2x a year and I miss them so much the rest of the time. Hopefully we'll get to have a nice weekend together!

Happy Friday everyone!

Brad.. a boy in my neighborhood was struck and killed by lightening when I was a 14.. i ALWAYS.. stay away from storms....

I'm so glad that the kid seems to be doing okay - how scary for him! I was driving home about a week ago and something similar happened. I had kind of been watching a storm off in the distance while driving down the highway. It was at least 10 miles away. All of the sudden, out of nowhere, there was a huge CRACK! and I saw the bolt of lightening come down on the highway maybe 50 yards in front of me! I have never been so scared in my life. Thankfully it didn't seem to hit anyone or cause an accident at least. It took me about 30 min. to calm down from that one.

Lightening is one of those wonders of nature. It is so powerful and dangerous, yet I find myself intrigued by it.

Good Friday morning, everyone!

Today is the first day of school for my kids, so we went to assembly last night for orientation. They said the boy that was hit by lightning seems to be responding well. We were all happy for that.

My company has planned a family day this afternoon at the local waterpark. They've rented the park for the afternoon and we're having pizza. I can't believe we're going to shut down production at 2:00 pm, but we are!

I hope you all have a great Friday!
