Hello all! Hope your week went smoothly. Mine was a bit rocky but, yesterday I got some good news in the mail. I have been invited to join an honors society! I have to keep my GPA at 3.5 until I graduate which is still a ways off but, I was excited to get it in the mail. I have a GPA of 3.67 right now. I'm hoping to keep my grade at the A level that it is right now in Anatomy so that my GPA will improve. It's gonna be tough to do but, I'm going to try my hardest to do it. I am so excited about this. Have a nice weekend everyone, I have to start studying for my class tomorrow.

Good morning, everyone!

As an early celebration, my girlfriend and I purchased tickets to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra on November 11th here in Ottawa at the Scotiabank Place (where the Senators play). We have been wanting to go for the past couple years but finally purchased tickets this year. We're sitting pretty much exactly where we want to sit (other than on the floor). It should be a magical experience. It's a couple days before we begin the Season, but I think it will be a nice interlude into the 2009 Christmas Season. We're both very excited for the show!

Happy Friday afternoon! It's been quite a day for me so far. I spent the morning with my mom, which was wonderful. And I got 2 phone calls from potential employers!! cheesy

Since I haven't been home all day, I've been recording QVC on the dvr. I'll have that on in the background all weekend while I clean and decorate for fall.

I can't believe we're at the 3/4 mark!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!

the weekend is here

and I will be spending most of it scrubbing and cleaning. My new place needs to be cleaned from top to bottom before I can move in. The new carpet for the living room is coming on Monday, but the upstairs carpets need cleaning. (good thing I have a steam cleaner)

It is still hot here in Northern California; it's supposed to be 105 today. Next week, though, maybe fall will come creeping in on us here. I think the weatherman said temps may be in the 80s. Oh, how I wish we could experience a "true fall" like I remember from my growing up in North Carolina.

On another happy note (ha, ha!)--I had a bad toothache last weekend and attributed it to a loose filling. I went to the dentist for my teeth-cleaning and told the dentist about it. After the cleaning, I was in the process of making an appointment to have the hurting tooth fixed when my tongue touched the tooth and pain shot through my head so badly that I was almost in tears. The receptionist immediately called the dentist back in and he gave me several shots. He then xrayed the tooth and found out there was a crack in my wisdom tooth and the roots were curved! So, he proceeded to extract the tooth and sewed up the gum. I was there for over two hours and got home after 6:00 p.m. Man, was I tired but thankful! Getting old is the pits!!!

I went to target this morning and as I was walking back to the halloween section I was surprised to see CHRISTMAS STUFF was on display. They had a aisle of cards and outdoor garlandand wreaths. Then all along there back wall they had lights and alot of there outdoor lawn decorations. They are the first store in town besides the craft stores to get christmas stuff in. It won't be long now until they all have it. The plan for the rest of the day is to watch nascar coverage and maybe some football. Hope every one has a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yesterday was the KISS concert at Cobo - they rocked, of course, but the people behind me dumped beer on me three times - kept thinking I smelled like the bottle return area of the grocery store :-?

Today it is a rainy, dreary day out and I am inside roasting tomatoes, cleaning house, and working - all in all a very good day. cheesy

I went into the big home improvement store (Rapid DIY) in Liverpool and was delighted to see the ground floor is now the Christmas shop! It's like a wonderland in there, thousands of flashing lights, sparkly reindeer and huge trees.

They also have a 6' polar bear in the window which dances, it's £500!!
