Good Saturday morning, my Chrsitmas friends!

Well, I survived the slumber party! I abandoned my son and saved myself, fleeing to my bedroom while he endured the madness. Ok, it wasn't really that bad. The girls had a great time, and I had a chance to catch up on some tv. Today we're taking them to the local water park. thy have an inflatable dome over the pools and heated water. Sounds like fun!

My labrador, Ben, is doing much better...thanks to all for your support! If he keeps improving, I think I can feel good about leaving him next Friday for our weekend trip.

Time to pour myself a cup of coffee and cook breakfast for 10. Whew!

I almost forgot! Mickey Mouse and the gang is in Chicago tonight (1hr from my house) to light up the Magnificent Mile Christmas lights! There is a parade, concert and fireworks! If you don't live in Chicago you can watch it online at abc7chicago.com. I think it starts @ 7 central time.

Good morning, all! Last night was Light up Night in Pittsburgh. And now, the 24 hour Christmas music is playing on a local soft rock station. So exciting!

I have a fun and busy day ahead of me. Hubby is out doing best man stuff for his friend's wedding. I think they're getting tuxes fitted and buying boots or something (I probably should have paid more attention when he told me what they were doing). My mom has a booth at a local craft show, so I'm going to go visit her there and look at her new pieces. And at 1:00, I'm meeting up with an old high school friend who I haven't seen in years (yay!). When I get home, I'm going to sit down with a cup of hot chocolate and work on a rug I need to finish soon.

Guess what guys?? MY TREE IS UP!!! I am SO EXCITED!!! I always, always put my tree up the day after Thanksgiving, but I had the afternoon off work yesterday & I thought - what a great day to put up my tree!! I always love to put up my tree, but this is such a stress reliever to have it done!! The day after Thanksgiving I just always put so much stress on myself trying to get it all (the whole house) done in one day. And if I get up to shop at 3:30 in the morning I'm tired & it gets to be more "work" than fun! So this is just the greatest thing ever!!! (ha ha) Every strand of lights worked - like I was just meant to put up my tree yesterday! LOL! But I need 1 more strand of clear lights, so I'm heading out to get them now! I am really pumped!!

Good morning, everyone!!

Christmas Spirit is everywhere! Well, all over this board at least. It's hard to believe how fast this countdown rolls on. I love it! Another library-filled day for me today. Pending on how fast I can get everything done, I am going to try and get to the mall for at least a couple hours. Otherwise, I may have to push it back until Wednesday since I no longer work on that day!... As tradition will probably have it, I will be out on Black Friday. I have been the past three years. It's not as busy in Canada due to the fact that we don't have those sales, but it really is when the malls start to overflow with customers.

Sunny but windy here in Ottawa today. The weather is real nice and snow is in the forecast for next weekend. Finally! It's a week away, but hopefully we can see some of the white stuff before December.

Well, I must leave. Time to finish a proposal and possibly start a major paper. Enjoy Day 9, everyone!!

I've heard people mumble and grumble bout all the work to do...you know...happiness is a choice and we choose it....i will gladly do all this cooking to be able to sit and break bread with my family....that's what it's all about....

Thanks for the prayers. If she does have the muscle diease that they think she might have it can be treated with high dose steroids. They said usually after about six months it goes into remission and doesn't come back. After this weekend I start to concerate more on football. I only watch the colts play right now but next weekend I will start watching all of the games that are on. Then that takes me usually into february and daytona. I agree that if it takes a little bit of work to bring the family together then it is well worth it. I hope you have fun shopping with your wife!!!!cheesy

There are finally other people getting in the christmas spirit around my apartment complex. I counted 4 apartments last night that had christmas lights lit up on their porches. Today I am going to do some grocery shopping and watch the nascar coverage. I hope everyone has a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Woke up this morning to see a dusting of snow everywhere. Definitely puts one in the Christmas mood. I've got the tree up but only the lights and red beads put on. The rest of the ornaments will go on tomorrow. Managed to get more cards done up and sent out and wrapped a few gifts.

man man man....I've been up and ready to go since 5:45....when I woke up my wife said (this is exact) "Get your back to bed b/c we aren't even about to start getting ready!" I was appalled! lol! I couldn't sleep and she slept til 930! IT'S TIME TO GO HONEY!!! What's that country song about waiting on a woman? With pleasure...with pleasure....

Bout 45 minutes away from leaving....I'M SO EXCITED.....I feel like a little kid at Christmas and we are just going grocery shopping....I'm looking for a word to express my feelings.....GIDDY!!! That's it!

I know how you feel! I got my christmas tree up today and decorated the apartment, am so happy, can't stop staring at it all!! Happy days cheesycheesy

1/2 my lights outside will not work and I cannot figure out why!!:-?
The first half of the string lights up but the second half will not. Anyone have a suggestion?

Switch one of the lights from the good half of the string, with the first light from the bad half of the string, and see if it lights then. Better yet, if the set came with spare bulbs, try a spare where the first unlit bulb is.

You may have a light string where one bad bulb prevents all subsequent ones from lighting.

the christmas music has started on our music channels here in the u.k! i'm laying in bed listening to slade 'merry christmas everybody' i love this song!

i'm going christmas shopping on tuesday and then i'm going to see a christmas carol on thursday. i think i will be decorating for christmas the week after.
