Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!

I've got a busy day of meetings lined up today, so I'll be in and out all day. My supervisor did my annual review yesterday, and it went great. Many compliments and thanks for a job well done. Sometimes that's better than a big, fat raise...ok, not really. cheesy

I hope you all have a great day! cheesy

Who needs money at a time like this?! I'm kidding. I'd rather have the raise, too! Maybe it will come with consecutive years of hard work at the end of 2010!

As an older person with experience, take my advise: ALWAYS use the handrail when descending stairs!
In almost every insurance claim I ever handled in such situations, the person was not using the rail.
My dad pulled a muscle in his leg the other day, his balance is off and is having a hard time getting up and down steps. We are talking just a few steps up and down the porch and there are no handrails. Handrails would make a world of difference! I told him yesterday he needs a cane to get up and down steps, he said he will get one (ya right! My dad will never do it! Lol). I told my husband that if he falls from trying to get up and down steps and gets a more serious injury that I am going to feel bad. We went out this morning and bought him one. What a difference it makes! Now with what you posted that on here makes me feel even better that we bought him one. I might have to look into getting handrails for their porch next. Thanks for the info!

You probably gave him the most useful (after) Christmas gift he's ever received!

Actually, I think I either slipped on a coffee spill or tripped over someone who was trying to lap it up.

It has been a kind of lazy day here. Did some more cleaning and baked a bunch of cookies. now, I am ready to curl up with a good book for awhile before drifting off. cheesy

I was looking through all the stuff I dvr'ed in November and December. Was gonna save it til summer but I realized I have so much I will have to start watching 1 or 2 things a week now to make all the wa thru by the time November rolls back around....part of me wants to wait til summer...but oh well..a few now wont hurt i guess....

Good evening! Just checking in...hope everyone had a good day today and even a better day tomorrow!cheesy

Evening friends...hope this finds all doing well! Things at work at really busy and challenging, but I love a challenge! Looking forward to the three day weekend, because I can take a little break! Going to work on Saturday morning and then take off Sunday and Monday....that will be nice.

Amazed at the pace of this thread...love it! Was worried about what it would be like after Christmas, but I sure am happy right now! Hopefully, we can keep this pace up for the year. That would be great. Watching my # of posts and I'm getting close to 1000! That will come this weekend. Kinda cool. I believe my friend Made had it done in a week. What an overachiever!

I wanted to tell you of a treat I had tonight for the first time. Has anyone ever had fried pickles? Wow.

Just popping in & saying Hello!cheesy

Today we had thunder..and fork lightening..it was absolutely terrifying.:-?

We have a little drive in here in town called the "Erie Drive In" (only open in the summer and you have to walk up to the window, no drive thru, and eat at a picnic table or in your vehicle) and they make the best fried pickles I have ever tasted. I really like them!

I love a good thunder storm, so neat to watch the lightening and listen to the rolling thunder!
Years ago when I lived in Smithers B.C., I lived at one end of town and my girlfriend at the other (of course, 26 years ago this was a place you could drive across in about 10 min if you did not have to stop!) Anyway, when a storm would roll in we would get on the phone and give each other details of what we saw as they usually came in from her end. cheesy

Good Morning everyone!

It is Friday already! Half way through the first month of 2010!

Have a great day everyone!!! cheesy

Watch away! cheesy If I am in the mood no matter what time of year I watch them.

In an apartment I use to live in we had radio towers that we could see out our back patio window. When it stormed my kids and I would turn off all the lights and open the blinds and watch the lightening hit the towers. It was fun and it did help from the kids being scared of thunder. They loved it!

According to Bizarre American Holidays website: (should be international cheesy)
