:hello: Took Mr. O'Malley the cat to the groomers yesterday. We're going to make this a regular monthly thing. It really helps us cope in the heat. For a supposedly short-haired cat, he sure does shed more than I remember any of my other cats shedding.

FYI - O'Malley is a Christmas Music critic. He cries when he hears certain sounds and thumps his tail and nods his head to others.
You have a very handsome cat! Did he cooperate during his grooming. I have one cat that would probably do ok but the other cat would probably go crazy!

Hi all. Had a lovely day at the arts festival in our old neighborhood.. saw lots of friends, had a great time... my husband worked a very long, hard day and I guess was a bit tired and hit the median getting on to the highway and messed up the front wheel of our car pretty badly. Fortunately, his boss knows how to fix cars and said he can fix it and even gave him the company's pick-up truck to use until it's fixed. Still a bit scary to hear a call from your hubby saying, "I had an accident," and a bit frustrating, with everything we have going on! Oh well, things can always be worse. Just thankful he wasn't hurt or anything.

Hope you all have a nice, relaxing Saturday night.
I am glad you had a nice day and very glad your husband was not hurt!

Anybody want a kitten? lol jk

Well, yesterday my wife went out to water the strawberry plants in the back yard and she saw something run across the yard. She went over and looked under the stairs that lead up to our garage and there were 5 kittens under there, we caught them all and put them in a carrier, we have them in a closed off room in the cellar, and we are bringing them for their first shots tomorrow.
We feel the best thing to do for them is to catch them and give them a better chance at a good life instead of being feral. They are 8 weeks old (just a guess) at the oldest.
We have some stray cats that hang around here. There is a male cat that has adopted us. He is the sweetest cat I ever seen. I really wish I could keep him but I rent a house and pretty much reached my limit on pets. I have 2 male cats already and they try to fight him through the window all the time. One time my 2 males cats destroyed our blinds trying to get to him. I don't think they want him here, lol. We go outside to visit this cat everyday. He is the sweetest cat ever and will sit in my lap and purr. I have been trying to find him a home but it seems he has become our outdoor pet. The lady next door and I feed him all the time.

Anyone have a printer recommendation for a PC? It looks like my wife and I will be getting ourselves an early Christmas present after our HP all-in-one printer decided to stop working this morning. We can't really wait too long to get a new one since I'm currently working on my dissertation, LOL! All I want is a printer that will last several years . . .
I don't have a recommendation on a printer. Seems like I always have problems with mine and haven't found one I really like. Good luck on finding a good one!
We had a great cookout this evening. My sister called at about 1 pm to ask if me and mom could come out and help her get everything ready since my brother in law had to work until 5. So I went out and entertained my nieces while my sister and mom got everything ready. She had invited the family and a couple of her neighbors. There was a total of 22 of us all together. We ate, told stories, and watched the kids play. It was a great time. I hope everyone else enjoyed their day!!!!!!!!!!
Very nice of you to help out with your nieces all the time. Sounds like a lot of fun you all had.

On the way last night, my wife kinda surprised me. Usually, I am the one who has this organized detailed plan for Christmas and she said that in about a month we needed to sit down and come up with a plan for our Christmas activities and schedule all of our shopping day, etc. I almost wrecked! It's exciting because this may make this Christmas even better. IMAGINE THAT!
I am already looking for things to do for Christmas! My husband gets that week off before Christmas and we go non-stop all week long doing Christmas activities. I can't wait!

Good Morning all!

I slept in this morning. I don't think we will make it for Sunday school or we might be late for it. We will be on time for regular service though. Then I go to work right after.

My husband and I are part of this points program online. I have been a member since 2002 and it's all legit but takes time. They send you an email with advertisement and you open to look at it (they are hoping you buy stuff) and close it and get 5 points. Then if there is something you want to buy online, you just buy through their program and get so many points per dollar spent. You cash it in for gift certificates to various places. We usually cash it in before December and use it for entertainment during the week my husband gets off for Christmas. Last year we had enough to get a 100 bucks Marriott gift certificate and 50 bucks restaurant gift certificate. We traveled to a little town east of us that had lots of Christmas activities going on and stayed the night and went to dinner with our restaurant gift certificate. We are a little bit ahead on points this year. We already almost have enough to cash in for a hotel gift certificate and it's only May! I have already been looking online for somewhere to go the week he is off. It does take time to build up points but very little effort to open an email to accumulate them. I do get more points when I shop online. Every time I shop through ebay I get points and I do that often. We earn about 150 bucks in gift certificates a year through them. It's www.mypoints.com if anyone is interested. Like I said, I have been doing this since 2002 and it's legit. :)

I hope you all have a fantastic Sunday!

Good Morning!
rain here alst night..I heard it all night.....
Same here, Bing.
And this morning we had about the hardest rain I have ever seen for about 10 minutes. Enough to cut visibility across my condo courtyard!
(It was so loud, at times it sounded like it was raining coffee beans)

Yes, we have truly had the rain recently with more forecast.
Currently, we stand at 69 degrees under brighter skies than we had an hour or so ago!

The close-of-the-weekend count:
Days to the Season: 174
Days to Christmas Day: 216
The day after tomorrow marks us down to two weeks away from the 200-day Christmas Day Window milestone, guys.
And you know - we really aren't all THAT far off from double digits to the Season, are we??
Geez Louise!

Well, have a Rousing Rest of the Weekend, Folks!
And a Super Sunday, to boot.

The bad news i that my DVR didn't tape the race and I didn't get to see any of it, Made. I don't even know who won yet.

You didn't miss much of a race. It was pretty boring until the last ten laps. Kurt Busch ended up winning it.

I am glad to see that you are converting your wife into a Christmas fanatic!!!!!!!!!!!!cheesy

Since I get to pick when I want to work I have been the designated babysitter from the time my oldest niece was born. I love to spend time with them and they are usually pretty good so I don't mind it.

I love mypoints!!!!!! I earned about $220 in gift cards through them last year. I have enough for about $75 right now. I always redeem my points for walmart gift cards and put them back to use for christmas.

Good afternoon, everyone!

I was out a little late for a friend's birthday last night. I did not wake up until about 45 minutes ago! The temperature is already 26C (79F) and supposed to get up to 32 (88F) with Humidex! It's going to be another hot one! We don't have air conditioning, but the fans have not stopped spinning for about a week now. We're as ready as can be for this summer. It appears that relief is not on the way until next Thursday. We're expected to be in the upper 80s until then.

Kim and I have a barbecue to attend this afternoon. We're both quite excited! We bought burgers, sausages and a few other delicious things yesterday. Can't wait to eat them!! Not much else to say. Less than 200 posts to reach that goal!! I know we can do it. Have a great Sunday, everyone!!

Wow...what a beautiful Sunday afternoon! It reached 94 F here and was quite a hot day. Worked in the yard for about 6 hours or so and then came in and took a shower. Now, time to prepare for the upcoming week. Schedules to make out, shirts to iron, and a show to watch later. Better get busy! See yall later tonight!

You did well on mypoints last year! I usually get $100.00-$150.00 per year from them but of course if you do a whole lot of online shopping you earn a lot! I get most of my points from just opening emails and surveys. I do very little shopping. The years that I never bought anything I would earn at least 50-75 bucks for the year. Not bad for not buying anything. Free money!

Hello MMC! I am back! School is over and now I have time to visit one of my favorite forums! I started my Christmas music early this year! (Last weekend!) Usually I wait til QVC's Christmas in July but I just had this craving to listen now!

I have a quick question. I'm not sure if this is new since I last been here but, what are the little badges next to some people's names? There's a posting badge and activity badge. Can someone enlighten me or point me to the forum where it tells me what it is? Thanks!

Yeah....I just noticed those! I want a badge! How do I get one?

Boy, I sure like seeing that clock ticking in the upper left now! Thanks, Jeff!

What a delightful Sunday it has been. I sat on my bum all day & I was just fine with that lol! A storm just came through & knocked out my cable. I just popped in "How The Grinch Stole Christmas" & made some hot chocolate! You guys have a good night!

Good evening all!

Today we took the kittens to get there shots and couldn't get them because the vet said the kittens are probably no older than 4-4.5 weeks old, so we have now adopted them for 5 more weeks that is when they can get there shots. So, since we now have them for a while we decided to name them instead of calling them kitty 1, kitty 2, etc... So there names are Opelia, Sophie, Boots, Stripe, and Gomez (Gomez is after Gomez Addams because he has a little perfect mustache on his upper lip) We also learned 2 do not know how to eat wet cat food, so we had to feed them milk with a medicine dropper. I hope we didn't bite off more than we could chew.

Christmas is coming newspaper ad: In today's paper, in the coupons there was an ad to order 2010 Christmas Cards from Danbury Mint, it made me feel all warm inside when I saw it.
Have a good night fellow MMCers!

Brent- I can't believe Paul Tracy pulled his time and then didn't end up making it into the 500. It was the most exciting bump day that they have had in a long time for the Indy 500 though.

Welcome Back we've missed you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!cheesy

Well it turned out to be a hot day. My thermometer got to 92 this afternoon even though officially we only reached 87 and it looks like the heat is going to stick around for the rest of the week. With it being so hot my neighbor decided that it was the perfect day to make homemade ice cream and recruited me to help him. So I spent most of the evening packing the ice cream maker with ice and salt. We made cherry vanilla ice cream and invited everyone in our building over for some. It tasted really good and everyone seemed to like it. Then it was back in to the air conditioning to pay some bills online and relax awhile.

They having been running ads for a couple of different Indianapolis Colts ornaments in our coupon section. It always brings a smile to my face to see them in there at the begining of summer. cheesy
