Good Morning MMC !

it is going to be hot and humid here today too, already that way when I got up a 6am.

An old Roy Rogers movie is on "Home in Oklahoma" (1947) Have not seen one of those in ages.

Going to get a bit of shopping done and some running around...have a great day everyone! cheesy

Have fun at Kandice's preschool and Go USA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!cheesy
I was going to say the same!
After several rounds of allery medicine yesterday I am feeling alot better today. Most of my day is going to be devoted to babysitting my nieces.
I am glad you're feeling better! Nothing worse than being knocked down with allergies.

Enjoy the movie!

Good evening everyone!

My husband and I booked a train trip to Chicago next month. It will be an overnight trip so we got a roomette. I love to travel by train! We use to travel all over the USA when the kids were little and always got our own room to sleep in. It has been 9 years since the last time I traveled by train and looking forward to going again!

I hope you all sleep well tonight. Goodnight all. cheesy

I live just over the border in NW Indiana. We visit frequently and my mom works downtown so if you have any questions, let me know!

My wife and I went to Chicago last June, it is a great city we walked miles and miles, we only got to be in the city for 24 hours but we went to the top of the Willis Tower (formerly Sears Tower), the restaurant in the top of the John Hancock Tower, and Navy Pier. We look forward to going back there some day. I hope you enjoy the trip.

My mom works across from the Sears Tower (it'll always be Sears to me! lol) It's a great city and I love visiting since we're only 45 minutes away (depending on traffic).

What a month...Mom has been in the hospital for three weeks, lost my job, daughter came home, bought another business, been sick...sheesh!

I'm headed to Vegas this weekend and will return recharged next week for full time Christmas year round from here on out. Can't wait.

Sorry to hear Jeff! Sending my thoughts and prayers!

Going to a friend's graduation party later today. I go back to work tomorrow. I like my job so far. It's like a big family! But I have a lot of names to learn!

Has anyone heard from Brad. Are things ok? I am on an iPhone and cannot read the entire thread. I am concerned with the flooding there. Yabba!

55 posts needed by tuesday to stay on pace. Yabba!

I just got done watching one heck of a lighting show. A storm went through southeast of my apartments and it lit up the sky like it was day time. It was quite impressive.

I love watching storms!! Rain or snow, or just lightning, they're so neat.

Well I did get t check in after all. Busy today as well, about to go back and do some work for a friend. Will be back later today. I hope! Have a good one all!

Good afternoon, Christmas friends! Well, there's a twist in our house drama.. turns out the house in a flood zone is actually in a better spot than we originally thought (making the insurance premiums go down by more than 1k a year) and we're getting quotes to totally waterproof the basement. So if the seller is reasonable and willing to do the waterproofing (or credit us to do it) it looks like we might move forward with this house. I always felt like this house was where we were meant to be (perfect location, across from a park, half a mile from downtown with lots of shops and restaurants, good schools, close to hubby's work, minutes from our family) so we're trying hard to make it work. Our agent and my husband both feel pretty confident that with this waterproofing and our elbow grease, we can make this house a great one and eventually make some money on it! So we'll see. Not getting too excited yet but I'm trying to think positive a bit.

Hope everyone is doing well. It's so hot and sticky here today so I'm having trouble feeling Christmasy... looking forward to the heat and humidity going away early next wk!

I hope you can work out a deal on the house!!!!!!!!!
I agree on the heat and humidty. It is currently 89 degrees with 93% humidty here.

Well my nieces have gone home finally and now I can kick back and relax for awhile. They were actually pretty good today expect for my oldest niece deciding that she doesn't want to eat anything you make anymore and just wants to go to McDonald's.

Thanks so much! I might have some questions as it gets closer to time. I have been through Chicago overnight before to connect on another train the next day but we did not visit the city. This time, even though it will be overnight, we plan to do something. I never in my life had the desire to visit Chicago but after looking it over I didn't realize how much there is to do! I wish we had more time there.

I too agree it will always be the Sears Tower to me! I start to laugh every time I call it the Willis Tower. Gary Coleman's catch phrase pops in my head when I say it, "Whatchu talkin bout Willis!"

I had that same problem with my grandson the other day and just got through telling my daughter about it. I offered to fix him 6 different things and he just wanted chicken nuggets from McDonald's! Lol! I told him, "not today, eat something I offered you."

So exciting! I hope everything falls into place.

Hi everone! I know I don't do it as much as I used to, but it's good to pop on here now and then and see how you all are doing. I've been so busy this past week. When I wasn't at work (for 50 hours - jeeze!!) I was doing homework or going to class.

I was so glad for 4:00 to roll around yesterday afternoon. I made my commute home and thought I was going to relax with a book (one that doesn't have equations all through it for once), but my husband suggested we go to a truck pull. I've never been to one before and I had so much fun!

All day today I've been studying for an exam I have on Tuesday evening. I'll be doing more of that tomorrow. But now, I'm going to finally relax. I might sit on the couch with that book I've been meaning to read (ANY book!).

This will be my very first train trip, and the only other time I was in Chicago was when I had to change flights in O'Hare airport. I am looking forward to it. It will be nice for my wife and I to get away from everything for a few days too.
