Christmas Countdown - 2010

Hey all. I haven't been on for a few days. My Dad was in the hospital with chest pains. We went down to Windsor to visit. He was out of the hospital and feeling better. He suspects he had a blood clot. The docs couldn't find anything and sent him home. He will be seeing a heart specialist. So everything is good. I just turned on QVC Christmas in July! Yay! 5 months till Christmas! 3 months and a few days till the Christmas decorations go up in and on the house! Its a cool 63F outside with ...get this...wait for it..NO HUMIDITY! It's been weeks with sticky weather and its FINALLY nice! Welll Im tired and I have to work tomorrow. Ill be heading to bed soon. Good night everyone! Oh yeah and 2 months till the Halloween decorations come out at the house

I usually try to get myself on speed channel during race day but it was so muddy over by them that I decided not to venture over there today.

Merry Christmas in July, everybody!


I want to apologize for missing the chat tonight, my wife and I ate a late dinner after the kids went down for the night. We had a busy day, we took the kids to the zoo. My older son hasn't had any medication for the last 2 days and he is eating everything without any issues, so we went to BK to treat him to lunch, and then went to the Lupa Zoo. It is a small local zoo, but they have a lot of animals from a giraffe to alligators, capybara, and so on. I will try to post some pics tomorrow. To see the kids faces light up when they see the different animals was just great. I wore my National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation t-shirt in honor of CIJ, and didn't get any comments on it though. I hope everyone has enjoyed QVC this weekend, I only got to see very little of it this year :-?

I have enjoyed spending most of the weekend watching Qvc and seeing all of the wonderful christmas items. It is hard to believe that we are only 5 months away from christmas but I am so excitied right now that it is going to be hard to wait that long.

Happy to hear your Dad is okay! I pray that everything goes well for him! Oh...and yes...thankfully there was no humidity yesterday! What a beautiful day it was! At 4:30 this morning it is 15C (59F) with no humidity. How lovely is that!

Hmmmmm...don't know what happened there. I had written a comment above on your post, but it didn't show up. In any event, I am glad to hear that everything turned out okay with your Dad and pray that everything goes well! Also - thankfully, there was no humidity!!! How great was that! I'm sorry I didn't get the chance to jump online to the chat last night. I was just soooooooooo exhausted from the weekend with Emma that I couldn't do much of anything! I'm not used to running after a 2.5 year old. I spend ALL of my waking time with her and we play...and play...and play! Then - I spent 5.5 hours on the road yesterday to boot. By the time I got home...I was played out!

I cannot believe its Monday already! Thankfully this coming weekend is a long weekend (its a Civic holiday here)!!!

Well - gotta run for now. Time to get ready for work. I just wanted to stop in and say "hi" and wish you all a super day!!!

Sounds like you had a great evening with the family !! No need to apologize for missing chat, though. I was only on for a short time because we got home late. There was a benefit for DJ on Sunday. I will try to write a blog about it later. SO GLAD your son is doing well again. So glad you are part of the Christmas family here at MMC !!

It is delightfully cool this morning at only 16c ! (makes me think of fall, which makes me think of school starting again, which makes me think of thanksgiving which makes me think I had better reserve a turkey form the farm so I have a fresh one, which makes me think I will get to start Christmas baking soon, which makes me realise Christmas is only 152 days away!!!)

Well it was a long day at the track. We got there early and roamed around the souvenir haulers and the infield. It was overcast this morning which kept the temperature down so it was really kind of nice out. We headed to our seats about 2 hours before the race started so we could see all of the teams getting everything ready on pit road. I was happy because we were really close to Dale Jr's pit stall. The start of the race was great. I love to feel the ground shake as all 43 cars start to accelerate and take off. The first 20 laps of the race were filled with action but after the competion caution everything started to drag out. Our track has never been good for hard racing and this race stuck to that theme. It got really strung out in the middle of the race and besides listening to Junior on the scanner there really wasn't much excitement. The race started to get interesting at the end but then Junior wrecked and I was disappointed again. I was happy to see Jamie McMurray win even though I really don't care for chip ganassi. It was really not that bad of a day. The weather was okay and not nearly as hot as it had been the last couple of days. There was also a breeze that lasted most of the day so that helped a lot. The traffic wasn't that bad this morning but it took us about 45 minutes to get the 3 miles to the interstate after the race. All in all it was a fun day.

Yes, the excitement of the race when all 43 cars take off! At Texas Motor Speedway it's very loud and fast. I miss it and hope to go back some day. I had a whole lot of Nascar stuff at one time, die cast cars and other collectibles. I sold a lot of it on Ebay including some autographed items. I should have kept those! I still have a figurine statue of Dale Earnhardt Jr. 1998 Bush Championship by Winners Circle and also some of Sr., a few other drivers and Jeff Gordon, who is my favorite driver. I will post a picture of the Dale Jr. one sometime today to show you.
