Hello everyone! I had a great weekend! Christmas in July was on, we got our Christmas issue of LTD Commodities, and we had a great day trip to Monticello! I worked yesterday, and I have today, tomorrow, and Thursday off. I'm getting stuff done that I have put off for too long.

The one friend from work (who's my dad's friend) is having his surgery tomorrow so keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Also, another friend found out that she has an ectopic pregnancy. She'll find out if she need surgery tomorrow. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers also. Thanks!

I dug out my family christmas DVD last night for a quick watch. I usually like to watch it when it is dark and snowy out and the only light other than the TV is the lit Christmas tree, but every now and then I'll dig it out to brighten my mood.
Every Christmas Eve, we have a big family gathering and all of the kids (cousins, neices, nephews) put on a christmas concert. It's a tradition that goes back generations. SOme will bring instruments, other sing songs. It's always a treat. So a few years back, I collected tapes going back to the first year grandpa rented a giant camcorder for the holidays in 1987. I put them all in sequence and got DVDs made for the whole family.
It is fun to watch. They're good memories, but they also put me in a happy place. I can kind of feel like I'm there -- not only Christmas, but for that half hour, I'm a kid again with no worries or troubles, grandma and grandpa are still alive and I can just enjoy it.

Thought I'd share. I'm ready for the holiday season again. Especially because I am a dad now, and I can watch my little Mae have that same wonder and fun at Christmastime.

Thank you for such a wonderful and touching post. :rudolph:

We all have our benchmarks of counting down Christmas and I likely have more than most. One of the happiest for me is when we reach this point and I can announce the opening of sign-ups for the Christmas Card Exchange and the Christmas Ornament Exchange.

For those of you so inclined the exchanges are a great way to say Merry Christmas to your friends here on MMC. We look forward to both of them in our home each year.

For five years I've had a new trading partner for the ornament exchange and I've got five very distinctive, meaningful and beautiful ornaments on my tree now. I wonder what will come this year? I like to shop for ornaments in my summer travels for my partner and that too is a benchmark for counting down Christmas.

And the card exchange -- what a thrill it is to get dozens and dozens of cards from my online friends. My neighbors burn with jealousy because it seems to art of sending Christmas cards has waned a bit in the last few decades. But not here. Here is it is alive and well and it makes my home especially and uniquely festive. I have neighbors who come to my house just to see the cards...like they were Christmas lights or something.

In any event, I hope you give the exchanges a look this year -- we'd love to have as many participate as possible.

thanks,
Jeff

My prayers are on the way for both of them.

Well it's late and I am headed to bed. Goodnight Everyone!!!!!!!!!

Good evening all!

Not much going on around here today, the wife has classes all week for work development so it is me and the boys all day long. I have been really itching for Christmas today, partly because of the QVC weekend and starting to see little changes all around that it is getting closer at other stores.

Have a good night!

Good Tuesday Morning, Christmas friends!

Well...I hardly got the chance to come here yesterday - and wasn't able to all last night. Sadly...it looks like that's the way its going to be all this week! I have a project at work due by the end of this week and because of some mishaps over the last couple of weeks, I'll be working every evening this week.

Last night I got home at 6:00 - gobbled down dinner and then started working until 9:30pm. By then I was completely exhausted.

Looks like by the time the weekend comes...I'll have a lot of catching up to do on MMC! Thankfully, we have a three day weekend!!!

Just know that even if I cannot make it on here much this week...I'll be thinking about all of you - and keeping Christmas warm and cozy in my heart and mind!

Have a super and merry day!!!

I love Michael's! I try to go every Friday on my lunch break this timeof year because its right down the street from my work and I love to look at all the new Fall stuff as it comes out. Also I usually get a 40% off coupon each week on one item that comes in our newspaper cheesy so I dont spend too much money lol

Ah I know the feeling...feeling like you are there and a child again with no worries. This was very touching! I hope you have the best Holiday season ever ...especially now that you are a parent! Its the best..you get to relive being a child through your child's eyes..its an amazing feeling cheesy
