Well my neighbor is helping me along my path to become a christmas decoration hoarder. I was joking with him that I was going to set up my christmas tree before mom came home and he told me he had exactly what I needed. His wife died back in march and he has started to clean out all of the stuff she had packed away. He said he came across this yesterday and immedtialy knew that I would want it.

It needs a little tender loving care to get it back in shape but I think that I will leave it hanging until mom gets home and she what she says.

I love it !!! And you were the perfect person to receive it. Someone who would appreciate it and give it the TLC it needed. Can't wait to hear about your mom's reaction when she sees it!!

Well I am starting to get excited while waiting for qvc to start their Christmas shows. I have the AC on high and it is starting to put a chill in the air. I have a steaming mug of hot chocolate sitting here and The Santa Clause 2 playing on the TV. Plus the lights from the hanging tree are casting that warm glow over everything in the living room. All of it combined is really starting to put me in that Christmas mood.

Sounds like the perfect setting!

Oh...guess what? My husband is buying me my very own guitar today!!! I'm soooooo excited!!!

Hey Christmasstar! We actually have our first cool morning since May. I am sure not quite as cool as you're probably getting.

It is rainy here and has cooled things down a bit. I turn off my central air at night and only run my window unit in my bedroom. The thermostat read 84 degrees in my house when I woke up this morning. Lol. Yes, that is considered a cool morning in the house. It usually reads 88 degrees when I get up. It is 71 degrees outside right now and I opened the windows instead of turning on the ac. It feels nice. The high will be 89 degrees and rainy. That is fantastic since it's been 100 plus forever!

My grandkids will be watching some of their shows today and playing some video games but later when they leave I will have on QVC. For now I will catch some online.

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

We had an uneventful evening yesterday. We did our weekly Wal-Mart trip, then had boiled peanuts at Nancy's parents'. Good stuff!

Yes Folks, yet another Milestone has passed by on the long highway back to Christmas.
(I'm afraid to check on the next one. Too scary. The year is moving by so fast! Can someone else check the chart for me?)

It remains overcast and damp here after still more rain yesterday.
(The chances are supposed to lessen today but they've said that before.)
Currently, it is 71 here in Raleigh at this hour.

Good morning all!

It is raining here for the 4th day in a row, but it hasn't been over 75 for almost a week it feels great. Today is the official 1st day of school for teachers here, so begins the school year for my wife, the students start tomorrow, and JP starts Kindergarten on Tuesday. So my Mr. Mom role is beginning again, I spent the morning doing the dishes and the laundry while listening to a Bing Crosby Christmas CD in honor of Rudolph Day, it was great listening to his voice I am so excited for Christmas already being ONLY 4 months away.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!!!! I have been enjoying all of the christmas shows on QVC since midnight and I even managed to squeeze in about an hour long nap. I haven't ordered anything yet but I am seriously considering the 8" santas they just had on. My plan for today involves the recliner, some hot chocolate, a couple of candy canes, and QVC. I hope everyone has a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning, everyone!

Merry Christmas in August! We are officially 2/3 of the way to Christmas Day! Has this year flown by, or what?! Signs of autumn are popping up everywhere. The nights have been much cooler than usual and the leaves of trees are beginning to change. It is very common to see a beautiful tinge of red on the leaves. The changing should die down in a day or so as temperatures with the humidex into the 90s are forecasted to return. As much as I am looking forward to fall, I can deal with at least one more heatwave!

Following lunch we will all be descending toward the weekend. Moreover, I will be descending toward my last days of work. Only two days left after today. It is quite surreal! Not much else is going on in Ottawa.

After looking at the chart on the first page, it appears that our next milestone is a fair distance away. Not quite a month away, but rather 22 days! What a coincidence, it will mark 100 Days to Christmas Day! After that, we only have five total milestones left for the year! Christmas truly is right around the corner!!

Enjoy the 25th of August! Four more months! Have a fantastic Wednesday, everyone!

Hey Made, I see the Jim Shore items you like. I am not sure about your local Hallmark but the one I shop at has several of these Jim Shore decorations for sale there. I saw them there last weekend. Ahhh, Christmas in August has put me in such a great mood today, even though I'm 2 days overdue! I just got home from the doctor (and my THIRD grocery shopping trip this week because I am nutty!!) and I'll likely be induced if the baby doesn't come by Friday... not ideal but looking forward to meeting my little one!!

Good afternoon all... stopped in at Michaels craft streo last night and was excited to see the halloween, fall, thanksgiving and Christmas stuff they had out. Saw some thanksgiving crafts I want to go back and get for the kids to do. We have very littl thanksgiving decorations so I thought that would be perfect.

I was listening to the radio a little while ago and the DJ announced that Christmas was 4 months from today! That brough a huge smile to my face.
