What I like to do at this time of the year to help chase away the post-Christmas blues is to look for Christmas decorations still on houses and speculate as to which will be the last to come down.
Gradually, they disappear one by one like slowly melting snow until only one is left.

Anyone else like to do this?

Yes I love to do that. I already know who's house is last to come down. MINE :P

I just got a call from my eye doctor reminding me about my check up tomorrow. im sure im about to have to wear glasses or contacts. It seems when I turned 35 last year everything happened at once. Anyhow I'm getting ready to cook dinner for just myself tonight hamburgers and fries...:)(and i just got back from the gym) hope everyone has a good evening!

Good afternoon, Christmas friends. School was not too bad today except I have a "crick" in my neck and a twinge in my side. I am sure it has NOTHING to do with getting older. We are on post 404 which means we are averaging 101 posts per day so far. WOW! That is fantastic! If we can keep that up, we will go way over our goal of 20,000!

I look for lights but they come down fast around here. We have so many mild days which gives people a chance to take them down right after New Years Day.

Wait till you hit 40! Just kidding! You are on the right track and will stay young if you keep up the good work at the gym. =)

There is a very slight chance we may get snow flurries this coming Monday. I am excited even though it's a slight chance. There has been times in the past where they predict a "few flurries" and we get several inches. I sure hope so since we haven't had any snow yet. :snowball:

Just got done working out andIm feeling like a million bucks. I took a several week hiatus from it and it feels great again. Anybody interested in a good cardio workout for the treadmill let me know. I have one that is highly effective for fat loss and endurance !
Was out walking my dog earlier and noticed that there were three houses lit up , (not many houses on my street to begin with.) Also the church I go to is upo on the hill and I could see that the priest still has his decs up. It seemed to me that as a whole not many people were lit up this year. At least in my town.

I also decided last night that I m decorating on Nov 1 this year.Husband agreed its just not long enough. I m speaking of inside decs btw :snowball:

I received an email back from the lady who wrote the article about celebrating the days of Christmas and I asked her to join our group:

Your website is AWESOME!!! just read your e-mail and just clicked on the link. Can't wait to explore. In the meantime, happy 10th day of Christmas!

Beverly,
Your article on more that one day of Christmas was wonderful. I wanted to let you know about a little group, no, really quite a large group, of Christmassy people who celebrate Christmas every day. And we here at MMC (My Merry Christmas--mymerrychristmas.com) invite you to check us out. If you go to the forums page, and scroll down, you will see figures that will amaze you. We hit 300,000 posts this year and we are in the process of going over 16,000 posts just on our year-long Christmas Countdown. You will not be disappointed! Trust me. Teachers don't lie!!!

I have been VERY disciplined this year and hardly bought anymore Christmas decorations. I have so many that I was unable to get everything out. I have a collection that I started since I was a child and kept growing. I will continue to keep buying a family ornament for the tree each year but that's about it. It's hard not to buy when it comes to Christmas! =)

Hi everyone! Just swinging by before dinner. I found a flyer on my door from a church in the neighborhood. The invitation says, "Christmas isn't over yet!" come join us for an Epiphany party on Jan 8th, bring a festive dish and your christmas spirit, caroling and songs at 6 followed by dinner and dessert. Such a great idea to extend the season, and one more chance to go caroling!

Good evening, Christmas family.

Kind of a quiet day. I worked my shift, ran out of work which is very bad, but it usually happens at this time of the year to a degree. I am watching a biography of The Bee Gees. Very interesting. All the furchildren are asleep as I will be soon I hope. My tree is still up and will remain so for at least a couple more weeks. I will know when it is time to put it away. The garland is still up on the mantle but that is a 24/7 365 days a year thing !!! I usually turn it on every evening throughout the year. It makes it so festive and less depressing !

The outside decorations were put away today and I must admit when I discovered they were put away I cried. It gets harder it seems for me each year to look forward to the next Christmas. I don't know why. On one hand a year is so long yet so short of a time to wait.

Have a great evening, Christmas family xo
