Mom was going to buy a new entertainment center but we couldn't agree on one that we liked. So she bought the $300 laptop at walmart. It doesn't look bad for the price. Now I just have to teach her how to use it.
I need a new laptop really bad. I see some really nice laptops, much better than the one I have, that are cheaper than what I paid for mine! I hope I can afford to get one soon.
Well I am off to make something bland for supper. I will check back in later.
I hope you are feeling better today!
Good afternoon everyone! its overcast and rainy here today. I just recieved word my Portuguese grandmother who lives in Miami,fl is flying in to see me tomorrow and spend time here for a week maybe 2 weeks. She has never came specifically to see just me,so I am really looking forward to it. She only speaks broken english so it's time to whip out my pocket translator! she is my only grandparent I have left and she is 84,but you can hardly tell it. she is a rowdy one..I'm sure she will be the first to do vodka shooters with my buddies! so the rest of the day I will be getting her room ready.Hope everyone is having a great day.!
Have a fantastic time with your rowdy grandma! cheesy

What a coincidence. LadyJonD and I went out this past Saturday looking for a new entertainment center. We didn't find one liked either. But I went home in a new pick up truck!

Uh oh. It should have been you BC. What happened?? Anyway, we made it to 3,600!!! Yippee. I forgot to tell you that the prize is a trip to New York City in spring! Thank you, thank you, one and all. I will cherish this prize forever!!!

Once again the fix is in, Seawaters gets the nice prize. I got a rock. cheesy

Point taken.

Well maybe sticking my head on a chopping block but noticed something of late on here that semi bothers me. I do enjoy seeing many different people post on here, what all are up to, sharing thoughts and so on. And I like seeing a record number of members doing so. But if it’s just numbers we want then I can sit here and post nothing but three or four words or tell a story three words at a time all night long and get us to maybe even 5000 mark. If I had got busy half an hour ago could easily have gotten us to 4000 for January.

To me it is all about the quality of the conversation in the posts not the number of posts.

Maybe as well I am all wrong. Setting records is nice as well but sometimes in setting records the overall objective is lost.

Just saying what is on my mind is all and something I have notice past week or so.

Xmas365, I love the Fenway siggy! Oh, for a warm, sunny baseball day ... Keep safe in this storm. As for Saturday ... I don't want to think about that yet.

What a thought. I guess the box seats are getting buried about now.

Wasn't it 1995 or 1996 when opening day at Fenway was snowed out? Ugh.

I think it was 1996, we had over 100 inches of snow for the year then.

Woke up to a beautiful blanket of snow this morning! I LOVE IT! Schools have closed and it's making headline news. I am sure the Packer and Steeler fans who have already arrived here in Dallas are laughing at us over all the media attention this is getting. That is all they have been talking about on the news, as we speak, for the past several hours. The snow has barely covered the grass but there is ice on the roads. Big news for us!

My daughter is a college teacher and my son attends her school so they both have the day off. I am glad they don't have to get out in this mess.

I am not too thrilled about Wayne having to drive in this mess to work but at least he is from Maryland and knows what to expect. My brother is a UPS driver so I do worry about him. He has to drive all day long. :-?

Hope they all stay safe on the roads.

This is the report out for my area,

..Major winter snowstorm Tuesday night and Wednesday..

This is an alert to the potential development of dangerous winter weather conditions in these regions. Monitor weather conditions..Listen for updated statements.

A major winter storm is developing over Texas and will track towards Southern Ontario Tuesday. The low is expected to track just south of the lower lakes Wednesday.............

This will be the first Major winter storm of the season for the Toronto area, and the most significant storm of the season for many regions outside the traditional snow belts. The heavy snowfall and blowing snow will cause whiteout conditions making for extremely hazardous driving conditions. The public should be prepared to change plans accordingly to avoid unnecessary travel during the storm.

Environment Canada continues to monitor this dangerous winter storm and will issue further watches and warnings as necessary.

IT'S COMING TO GET US !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good evening,

I worked early today, had to be there for 7am I would have been on time if my car would have started. I got it going and got there. We are ready for the storms that are to come through 2-5 inches tomorrow, 12-16 on Wednesday. With ice in between, and the weather guy said that was being on the optimistic side.
Have a good night

You both becareful and stay warm! Do you both have fireplaces in case your electric goes out? I sure hope so!

It's Snowing Again!!!!

Good morning,

It is snowing here in Western Massachusetts again, schools canceled and tomorrow will be more of the same. We are sitting here watching Over The Hedge as a family. Planning on making a roast chicken dinner with the fixins for dinner, if you want to risk the weather you are all invited cheesy The snow is taking its toll up here, the weight of it collapsed my in laws back porch/deck. At this rate the kids and my wife will be in school until July 4.

Have a good warm day!

MsChristmas, I can't find the post, I got a little behind in the past couple of days. I think you mentioned you were sick? If so, get well soon!

The day before Feb. 2 is significant in old Christmas traditions. Today is Candlemas Eve. Old folklore says that today is the absolute last day of the Christmas season and all decorations must come down before midnight tonight (yes, many people left them up throughout January on purpose and it is still not unheard of in this day and time).
Of course back in these times the main decorations were greenery which was mostly brown by now. Anyone not heeding this warning will face a troubling year of bad luck and maybe death. The original lore pertained to the greenery decorated in the church but the superstition spread to the home also. For every brown leaf, needle or berry left behind, a goblin you will encounter.
Check your homes and churches everybody and get out the vaccum cleaner or brooms!

My Wife, Son and I will be over hehe. Yeah the snow is headed our way! Crazy! We already have 3 feet still on our lawn from the last storm. Guess we will be eating snow cones for a while!

Yummy! Snow Cones at Undrtakr's house!!!

Good Tuesday morning, my Christmas friends!

It's February!!! January always seems like FOREVER from the Christmas season, but now that's behind us.

It's also first Tuesday in the month, which means family-night supper with my inlaws. My wife is the youngest of 6 children, so it's a big event when everyone brings their own families. :family:

I hope you all have a great day! cheesy

I love Jayish!
That sounds like a lot of fun! I would love for our family to have a monthly tradition. It seems impossible to get everyone together at once. Especially with my daughter's family. I see the grandkids all week long but I don't get to spend a lot of time with my daughter. At least my daughter and I are trying to make it a plan to have lunch together more often.
It will be another warm day here in northern California.
You can't be left out! Here in Texas we are actually getting snow. We must figure out a way to send some to you!!! :snowball:

Good afternoon everyone and HAAAAAPPPPYYYY T.G.I F.day!!Im officially making Feb 1 st "Thank Goodness its February Day !!" January is over !!!
Wow looking at the national weather map , looks like most of us will be affected in someway by this weather system.

School was canceled for us today due to ice everywhere. I think tomorrow will prove to be the same. This will further add to my financial woes which are getting worse by the minute. Please keep me in your prayers! cheesycheesy Please stay safe everyone !!

I forgot write this earlier, when I got home from work I was talking to my wife and we realized LC snuck down into the basement, I went down to get him and he was in the room that is closed off from the cats, I told him to get up the stairs, and I notice the cabinets that were on the wall had fallen off at some point. My heart dropped when I saw it laying there, because that is where I store all my fragile Christmas decorations, I was almost in tears I couldn't even think. I put on my shoes and started going through what I thought was going to be carnage. I did lose some but all my village houses were fine and the Santa praying at the baby Jesus was fine here is the picture http://mymerrychristmas.com/forum/album.php?albumid=542&pictureid=5633 We were quite lucky not to lose more.

OOOO mY GOODNESS !!! hOW BAD THIS all could have been !!!!!! Sooo glad that much was spared!!!
