Christmas Countdown - 2011

I won't make fun of you. I LOVE BOILED PEANUTS! They just don't sell them here and if I travel somewhere I stock up. Once in awhile a store here will carry them and then just stop.
I am jealous of you for having boiled peanuts! Does your father in law sell cans at his store? My favorite brand is Roddenberry. (I think it's how you spell that).

He usually has his own peanuts canned for sale, but we sold out last year. I hope he does it again!

Up late catching up on the ol' countdown, my bro-in-law left an hour ago, he comes over to hang out with us and the boys once a week. We watched the movie Unstoppable with Denzel Washington, it was an intense movie that I really enjoyed.

I really want to see that one!cheesy

Good Sunday morning, my Christmas friends!

We're about to walk out the door for church. I had to cook men's breakfast at church this morning, then come home and get the family. It was a pretty good breakfast if I do say so myself!

Morning, friends! Been kinda absent from here the past couple of days. When we got off work Friday, we had to clean up the house. That took most of my night. Then yesterday morning, I had to work in the yard all day planting the trees, shrubs, etc. After that, we went to Lowe's to price some items and buy groceries. I am sooooo sore! I ache all over. Last night, I started reading the board and about 15 minutes in, I must have passed out because my wife turned off my computer and put me in bed.

Today, I'm going to work in the yard, but I'm not going to do the hard stuff. More of the fun stuff.....

Still, quiet and sunny here in the capital city.
We started out cold again this morning in the mid 30's.
(Hey! That's too cold for April here in the south!)
And we have climbed up to 42 at this hour with the "promise" of 70 by this afternoon.
I'll believe that when I see it!

Well, it's Butler (again) vs Connecticut tomorrow for the NCAA Basketball championship.
My Dukies took Butler out last year. Can the Huskies do the job this year or will the Bulldogs finally win the championship?

I am not much of a basketball fan on any level, but I cannot stand UCONN in any sport, so I hope Butler wins.

I feel a little sleepy today, hmmm can't figure out why. Just the boys and I right now, my wife took her mother out shopping and for lunch for her birthday. Listening to sports talk radio, it sounds like some of the Red Sox fans are already in panic mode after only 2 games, I will wait for 3 before panic sets in. cheesy

yes, those furry little bundles are wonderful! I opened my living room window because it is rather nice out right now, and my Pocket has been thoroughly enjoying watching the birds. (the robins are back!!)

Thinking of you, Laney, in your loss. Death touches so many lives, not just those of the immediate family. Sometimes we forget, but we need to remember all the people who will mourn this passing.

Good Saturday afternoon everyone! I've had a long weekend so far. Yesterday evening we went to the visitation for my friend that passed away. She was so well loved and we had to wait in line for 1.5 hours to get in the door to see her. This morning was the funeral. It has been a very draining but very touching weekend to see so many people pouring out their love for this family. In the midst of so much pain, though, there was still such a message of hope.

Tonight I have my three nieces and nephews over for a sleepover. We're about to make rice krispie treat Easter eggs and then grill hotdogs for dinner. Hopefully they have fun and I don't end up wanting to pull my hair out LOL! Wish me luck!

Good morning, Christmas friends. The skies are clear and the wind is howling right now in northern California. It howled all night and I kept waking up with all the noise. Lots to do today: type up some speeches for my husband, do laundry, do some independent study paperwork, and find my car keys. I still can't believe I lost them! In addition, I will be organizing some scrapbooking materials. Hubby is out in his shop right now fixing my units that will house all my scrapbooking papers. I can hardly wait for him to be finished. I hope each of you has a great day. I think I will send some of the wind your way!

I know how you feel about your keys, I lost my glasses a few days after Christmas and I still can't find them, I only need them for driving I can see without them, just need them to see signs clearly, I guess it is time to get an eye exam and new glasses. cheesy

I know there is a lot of animal lovers here my boys have been loving to watch the Decorah eagles, two of the eggs just hatched and the mother and father have been amazing to watch. It is a little addicting to watch them, the babies are just little grey fuzzballs right now. I just wanted to share them with all of you.
