Good morning, Christmas friends. I have dinner in the crockpot: beef-barley soup with a beef shank for added rich, rich flavor. I realized that it is hard for me to cut stuff up, namely the potatoes. It really hurts the ribs, but c'est la vie! Brad, did you get to the Christmas expo? That would be so exciting; so is tubing! I went to the Elks Lodge for dinner last night. The state VP came for a visit, so I wanted to support him, his wife, and hubby. We had individual beef wellingtons that were superb!!! We also had twice-baked potatoes, grilled squash and zucchini (or is it zuchinni?), salad, and a berry tart! It was fabulous! I only went for dinner because of the rib pain, but the great food helped! Hope everyone has a great day. It is supposed to be in the 100s again today. Ugh!

Good afternoon Christmas peeps. I hope all my Ameican friends had a nice 4th of July. Today is my normal day off but because one of the other girls in my office is on vacation I am working..I get paid an extra day though so its all good! I dont mind working on my day off every once in a while! My youngest son has gone 3 nights in a row without his night time bottle and sleeping/falling asleep in his big boy toddler bed. I am so proud of him...he will be 2 on August 18th! He is growing up cheesy. Have a great afternoon everyone!

Hi everyone!!! Roasting over here today!! We were out playing before 8am and it was already too hot and humid. It's supposed to stay this way for a few days so I decided to take this time to potty train my VERY reluctant 3 year old. (Good excuse to stay inside in the a/c right?? 2 birds with 1 stone!) So far, so good although he refuses to wear underwear sooo he's pantless guy right now! :\ Oh well, in due time.

Looking forward to only 1 in diapers sometime soon!

Still in pain. The doctor said it could be up to eight weeks. He is so right. I have been trying to go without meds but had to cave in last week.
no fun to be in pain. My tail bone still gives me trouble too. It is usually because of being in a vehicle, something that is part of my job right now taking Lindsay into Toronto 3 x's a week for her threapy.

I realized that it is hard for me to cut stuff up, namely the potatoes. It really hurts the ribs, but c'est la vie!
you know most people use thier hands to cut up stuff and a knife....I can see where using your ribs would hurt! LOL
(that was the first thought that came to mind when I read your post)

Much to my chagrin, I was unable to talk the others into a trip to Gatlinburg. It's about an hour and a half from Maggie Valley, but we have always gone to either Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge, TN while staying in Maggie Valley. I thought it would be a shoe-in, but everyone else just wanted to lay around a relax, so I was out-voted.

I hope you feel better soon!

Just wanted to drop in & say "Good afternoon" I'll be heading to the Pines sooon!!

Good afternoon, Christmas Family !

It is kind of cloudy then not cloudy here in NE Ohio today. Temperature is nice - not too hot and not too cool (is there such a thing ??)

My job is just not working out the way I had hoped. Midnights are killing me. I had asked if there were any positions on days and they told me no. So I have decided to interview for a different company. I am not usually a "job hopper". When I get a job I usually stay there for years but living in a constant state of exhaustion and not having the energy to do anything because of my job has got to go. Then there is still that threatening e-mail I got. I feel I have no choice but to try and move on. One thing I am VERY proud of is that a couple of my reports were audited a week ago and they were BOTH 100 percent PERFECT.

I interview with a company this Friday at noon.

The biggest thing going on with me is that my dear brother-in-law will be undergoing abdominal aortic aneurysm surgery TOMORROW.

I must admit when I heard he had this I totally panicked a few days back as I am prone to do. Since then I have found out that the AAA was an incidental finding by his cardiologist. Wes was given a 100 percent clean bill of health but the doc decided to do an ultrasound and that is when the AAA showed up.

He is 70 and is a really great guy, the nearest relationship I have to having a brother. We disagree vehemently about things especially politics but none of that even matters.

For those who pray, please keep Wes in your thoughts. If any happen to be of the Catholic faith, please join me in an across the miles rosary. Any and all good thoughts or prayers are sincerely appreciated. My sister is going to let me know tomorrow. Wes' oldest daughter is going to be at the hospital with my sister.

I am unbelievably scared.

I hope all are doing well. CAH, I hope you get to see your little grandbabies soon, Seawaters I hope you feel better, I think of you all every single day even if I don't post on the countdown.

Thank you Christmas Family

Seawaters, this MUST be part of a conspiracy to make me hungry long before dinnertime ...

Good luck with the interview and (hopefully) the job change, and try not to worry too awfully about Wes. These days, surgeons deal with aneurysms every day---they know how to deal with them. It would've been so much worse if it hadn't been discovered in time to treat it surgically. Someone was looking out for him to make sure he received medical care in time. You're both in my thoughts and in my heart.

So funny!!! I am amazed, though, that so many things we do include having to use the ribs!

We are always thinking of you, too. Rosary is in the works!

My grandkids came over at 7:30 am and still here. We went to the gym today then afterward went to my brothers house. My niece is in town with her baby. They are from Pennsylvania. We had a nice time!

CM3, I am sorry for all that is going on with you and your brother in law. I will be praying.

I will join you in praying for your brother in law.
Keep us posted as to his progress.

No doubt! The food in the crockpot smells absolutely delish! It is beef stew meat, beef shank, carrots, potatoes, corn, beef stock, potatoes, mushrooms, barley, and onions. I think we will have sourdough bread to go with it! Come on out to California. I am sure I have enough for all of us!

Seawaters, this MUST be part of a conspiracy to make me hungry long before dinnertime ....

CM3- I have been praying for you and Wes every night. I will say a couple of extra prayers for him tonight and tomorrow.

My niece just got picked up and I am off to the pines!!!!!!!! I'm hoping I haven't missed Carl singing Walk like an Egyptian on the karaoke stage.
