My kids and I love things that have buttons and make lots of noise, I can't go to a store without pressing buttons. I wonder if I am the reason my local Hallmark takes all the batteries out of their "Magic" ornaments. cheesy

The QVC studio is sooo close to my house... like 45 min or so away. Let's all take a trip of a taping!!! ANd a search for this farm with allll those lights!

I went to the QVC studio back in 1992 with my uncle, unfortunately at that age it wasn't a big deal to me. I would like to go back there now especially at CIJ

THinking about setting up a Christmassy booth at some highland games around our area. GUnna have to wait until next year probably but the rough plan is here. *smiles* I will do this

hey all!

haven't been on in a couple of weeks. don't know how much more i can take in 2011! it's been a real tough year so far with losing my precious grandmother in january, my precious aunt in june and now my mother in law has just been diagnosed with cancer. as you can imagine my poor hubby is worried sick, we won't know exactly how serious it is until next week when she has further tests, but please god she'll get through this.

everytime i come on here lately i have bad news, sorry to put such a downer on things! i like to think of myself as a positive person and i am so looking forward to christmas, after everything i have been through this year i deserve an amazing one and that's what i'm going to get! )

merry christmas in july!

I will keep her in my thoughts.

Still trying to get through all the posts I missed on my router forced sabbatical from MMC, I made it through CIJ on QVC I felt like I watched it all with Made and Binger's commentary. I leave for work shortly, my wife just got home with LC he has a case of Hand, foot, mouth disease going on right now, he has been sick for a few days, and the Dr said to give him all the shakes, ice cream, freeze pops he wants, which is a win for the little devil. He will be fine. We painted the living room yesterday, my wife gets up today and she dislikes the color and now she wants to repaint that. Yes dear and nod. cheesy I hate painting!

In honor of August I popped in my Christmas mix cd into the van on the trip to work. Ahhh I had the tingly Christmas feeling with the a/c cranked. Still muggy here. Cant wait for the cooler temps. Its getting a little busier at work and that's good. We have been dead during this summer. Come on people keep breaking your dell computers hehe. Then you get to talk to me! The best of the best! My Mom, Sister and her baby Madison are coming down in a few weekends! I cant wait. Its hard to see family two hours away when you work full time. Well back to work I go. Hope to see you all at the pines. Don't fall for Carl's "52 pickup" magic trick! hehe

JOHNOR - so sorry to hear of your tough year! I'll keep your MIL in my prayers. The "waiting game" is the hardest part! I hope it all turns out very well!

We celebrated my parents 60th wedding anniversary over the weekend & oh what a fun time!!! Their anniversary is actually tomorrow. We have 1000+ photos from the party, so I'll be busy organizing them & picking what to order. Wew!

Hot day here again - it was supposed to be sunny out, but it is still cloudy. We made lunch instead of eating out - I had a salad with tomatoes off the vine - yummy! I never used to eat tomatoes, but I rather like them of late.

Heat index is supposed to be 120 today.....CRAZY! The football coach and I agreed yesterday to move practice up until 8:00 this morning or 7:00 tonight. It's scary to think of these kids out there, especially with all that are having problems everywhere. Heard where a coach died yesterday from being out there....already knew of 2 kids....tragic....Ol' Ballcoach doesn't see the point. We go out and practice at 2:00 because "We gotta make em tough" but we don't play games until 7:30. Why you gotta make em tough at 2:00? Can't you do it at 7:00 in the morning...I understand the mental toughness and overcoming adversity, but adversity when you are 16 is your girlfriend breaking up with you, not walking around in 20 pounds of gear in 120 heat index, that's stupid. But hey, I'm blessed, I've got a good one!

THANK YOU! I am glad to hear that you will not have them playing in this heat. I worry about kids every year when sports practice come up during the summer. The coach that died lived nearby me and it saddens me that it could be prevented by taking precautions. Once again, thanks for looking after the kids!

You know, Ballcoach, Jerry Jones has the Cowboys practicing inside the Alamodome so it's ok for the kids to not be directly in the heat during the middle of the day. =)

Good for you coach!!!!!! I saw on the news last night that alot of the schools around here haven't moved their practice times and I think that is plain crazy. It's not as hot as there but the heat index is still running 105 to 110 during the afternoons. I know when I played in junior high our coach would keep us inside if it was over 90 degrees outside. We would work in the weight room or run sprints in the gym.

I agree 100% with the above. We have a summer camp program going here by one group in several places and no matter how hot you can see them marching those poor kids all over the place. I am shocked the parents have not protested. Most of the kids are not even wearing hats.

And in honor of our nearly being at double-digit count level, Carl has half off everything at the 'Pines. That includes iced tea, fired twinkies and twinklings, camel rides. .....And yes, even coffee - such as it is.

I have my Master's in Collaborative Education and started on my Doctorate in Math Education. $ became a problem so the Doctorate is on hold. Maybe I am too old anyway!

Good Wednesday morning, my Christmas friends!

I got a little more done on my deck yesterday. I've started putting up the handrails, and it's looking pretty good. I had to quit at 7pm to go to my inlaws for family-night supper. Every first Tuesday of the month, LOTS of us go to her house for supper. Last night we had breakfast. I love that! Grits, eggs, ham, breakfast casserole, sausage...mmm, mmm, mmm!

I hope I can get some more done on the deck today.
