Good Morning, MMC friends! Happy Friday!!
What are your plans for the weekend?
My husband and I will be catching up on yard work, grilling out with friends, celebrating our 3rd wedding anniversary, and decorating for Fall! So excited!
... whatever your plans, please be safe & have a wonderful holiday weekend!!!
I plan to move my daughter to her new home so she can start school!
Maybe I'll go to a craft store or two this weekend to see if the Christmas yarns are out. My stash of leftover yarn is almost gone (I made a scrap afghan), so I have to start a new project. Maybe I'll crochet a Christmas afghan! I've got several patterns I haven't tried. Throughout the summer I work on hats and scarves, then in November I send a box to an association for the homeless.
that is so great and your certainly do have an unselfish regard for the welfare of others, that is what makes you so special! cheesyIt's not all altruistic ... I enjoy crocheting, and the stuff I make has to go somewhere, so I'm happy they want my hats and scarves! When it starts getting cooler, I make afghans. It's a very cozy winter hobby---the bottom half keeps me warm while I work on the top half!

I will also be spending that time cleaning the house and purging - we have so much stuff that it is starting to clutter and I hate that.
I am so getting into the fall and christmas mode here. Going to go out his weekend and look for a couple christmas gifts.
Hope everyone has a great day!
Not at all, I am with the construction company that is currently re-building the WTC.
(here is a link that for construction updates and a ton of info http://www.lowermanhattan.info/construction/project_updates/freedom_tower_26204.aspx)
Well, they wanted certain accepts completed for the upcoming anniversary and with the The National September 11 Memorial opening on the 10th anniversary we had a lot of "kinks" to work out. It was designed to outline the original WTC sites building foot print, and with the waterfalls, it has been completed but, as with anything it needed adjustments. It is such a beautiful memorial everyday I pass it (we are now on the 50th floor our offices) as we are at steel on the 80th floors now, pouring foundation/concrete in the 60th floor level now. It is now down to the wire, the Architect is completing what in construction we call a punch list - which is his comments/suggestions/and finishing of the site. We are also setting up with the staging company all the memorial props. The Callery pear rescued and it is the surivor tree has been a work in progress but it is showing new growth, thank God! And maybe this will give a new light to lawyers everywhere a little known story next door to the Tribute WTC Visitor Center, outside the firehouse on Greenwich Street at Liberty, is the Fire Department of New York Memorial Wall. The firehouse, home to Ladder Co. 3, Engine Co. 10, lost five firefighters on 9/11, but the wall is a tribute to all firefighters who died. It was a gift from the law firm Holland & Knight and also honors one of the firm's partners, Glenn J. Winuk, a volunteer firefighter and medic from Jericho, N.Y. He helped evacuate the firm's offices near the World Trade Center, then raced to the towers to help. Winuk died when the south tower collapsed. It is going to be a heart wrenching day. But, who knows God has a funny way of stepping in and making us grow and learn - I won't say heal as we never will in this lifetime, but maybe as time goes by, and like when I read about D-Day, Pearl Harbor, & JFK, it will be history of what took place, not painful like those who lived through it, but a knowing sadness and of pride that yes we did re-build, we did grow from love, we did move forward because the world came together of a moment in time.
I just watched on Discovery Channel, last night, regarding the rebuilding of the WTC. I also saw the story behind the pear tree. There was 3 different shows on back to back and it was very interesting to watch.
Thanks for sharing this with us!
I'll say a prayer that all goes well.
I'm here now! But gotta go again. =)*Chirp* *Chirp* *Chirp*
