Good Monday evening, my Christmas friends!

We had a busy day today. Jacob and I got up at daylight to go to another bird hunt, and it was great! Then we came home and spent the day getting ready for his birthday party.

Everyone just left, now I'm looking forward to some couch time (after a quick cuppa coffee, that is!)

Hi everyone!

I haven't checked in for a while but I do look around almost daily. Life is crazy right now taking care of both sets of parents with some serious health issues. I have been able to focus on Christmas nevertheless. LOL I have all of my Christmas Cards done, including photo for the front, addressed and waiting for Oct. to get the new Christmas stamp on them. Heck, I've even wrapped a few gifts. Now these Gulf of Mexico tropical storms are getting in the way of my HHP so I'm a little behind on that. Not to worry, I'll catch up in no time. I hope everyone is having a magical time preparing for the holidays.

Oh Did you hear.. Harold & Kumar are coming out with a 3D Christmas movie set to release in November..

I think the movies are funny...but I will wait to see this one when the DVD comes out. The trailer for it is funny, but not really kid friendly to play if you have any nearby.

Good evening, everyone!

Kim decided that she wanted to visit her family, so we went to Cornwall for the weekend. It was very quiet, but enjoyable.

Now, I have returned to see that the count is down to 110 Days to Christmas?! Wow. Where has the year gone?! I've said that a lot, but now it is closer than ever... And, I say this as the cool September breeze drifts into my apartment through the screen door. Of course, September is obvious in the air as well as schools.

Students in Canada are returning to the classrooms for another year. However, for the first time in 22 years, I will not be school. Yes, each year since 1989, I have been in school. That extends into three different decades! Incredible.

Now, I am unemployed. An unemployed teacher, at that! I guess that means I am bound to return to school - just not yet. We'll see how long it takes to get on the Supply List!

Ah well. Job searching will resume in the morning.

I hope everyone has enjoyed their long weekend. The final weekend of summer! Our favourite time of year is getting closer and closer!

Good evening,

Another busy day Laboring at work, getting paid double time and a half makes working the holiday a little easier. I worked in the freezer for a good 4 hours today, nothing like -10*F to cool you off, it needed a good cleaning out, and it has been awhile since I had done it myself. My turkey orders are set for Thanksgiving, we have a few tons coming in starting in about 5 weeks, and dare I say the talk of Black Friday is being whispered, I have heard of some deals but I am not allowed to say anything yet. :whisper: Day off tomorrow, lots of things on my honey-do list.

Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you that Lowe's has their Halloween decorations up and for sale, a few more weeks and Christmas will be right up there with it, I am running to Kmart tomorrow to see what they have going on.

On another note:

My mom and I were talking about the upcoming holidays on the phone today. We started talking about Thanksgiving. She asked my plans. To which, I answered that I will - more than likely - be near Boston playing in the USA Ultimate Northeast Regional championships.

Shortly after, we discussed plans for other holidays. Of course, Christmas was the next to come up. Although she also loves Christmas, she asked if it were too early to discuss our favourite holiday... Then, she became excited of the talk. I thought it was fun! Neither of us can wait for the decorations, the festivities, the fun, the family! It's closing in on us. I can't wait for it to become a constant topic of discussion.

Well MMC family, it's to bed I head. I have a very busy day tomorrow. As I said earlier in my thread, we wanted to go to the county fair tomorrow evening, but I think from the rain, we won't be able to. I guess we will see what tomorrow brings...hopefully it will stop for an hour or two, so my daughter can at least see the animals!

Woke up there about 20 minutes ago and its reaaly cool. i keep the windows open at night and this morning the curtains are blowing s and you can feel the cold air..brrrrr

but i nicely told him that he may have to take time off for his mom. they found another set of cancerous tumors in her lungs and there has been talk of removing the whole right lobe and he is going to need time off for that.

Just unwinding after work here on MMC.

I just have this to say -Rats !!! to quote one of my favorites, Charlie Brown. I just found out that my very favorite band in the whole WORLD is coming to a city not 10 minutes away from me in October !!!! And I can't go !!! Third Day will be playing in Canton,OH. They may never be here again.......but no matter I can't make it. As we used to say in the '60s - BUMMER (maybe I could just kidnap them for a little while !! cheesy)

Such is life. Even though I dont get to see Third Day live my Wishie is here with me snuggled in my blankets at my feet peacefully sleeping and that is pretty dang wonderful xo

It has been hot and muggy here all day today. We did get some rain but not enough to really make a difference. I am so ready for the cooler AND colder weather. I meant to tell everyone that I got through my surgery ok but it seems I only made it as far as the chatbox here on the forums. SOrry about that. I walked 4 miles today and it felt great, did that this morning before the temp started raising up. I was over at Spirit yesterday and hubby and I were looking at a few goodies we would like to get BUT then I remembered that we are saving back for a new tree this year. I do not buy those cheaper Wal-Mart trees. NOOOOO I have to go out and drop a couple of hundred for a tree that has a lifetime warranty. LOL!!! We are tearing our old tree apart and using it for other things, but the top of it is gunna end up as a tabletop tree for our upstairs landing this year. I am trying out some new stuff this season and I will be sure to take pictures. I already have my cards done, all I need to do is put on the mailing label and stamp and out they go.
Hubby goes back to work tonight, after having the past two weeks off due to my surgery last month, he is not happy. LOL he said this morning that I should have asked the nurse to put three weeks on my letter but i nicely told him that he may have to take time off for his mom. they found another set of cancerous tumors in her lungs and there has been talk of removing the whole right lobe and he is going to need time off for that.
Hobby Lobby and dollar trees here have their Christmas stuff out already and I want to go over there here in a few weeks to not only get my exchange partners goodies BUT stuff for here as well.
