I hope your great aunt is staying safe, Holidaysburg what a great name for a town, sounds like something from a Christmas cartoon or movie.

I feel your pain!! Our basement is a nice, soggy swampland again, too... think we should just throw in the towel and build an indoor pool??? hehe

That is a great town name!

I think central and northern PA has it even worse than us... hope your aunt stays safe and dry!
 
Rain rain go away...to Texas put out those fires.

Another rainy mess here, so no mowing of the lawn, every time I have a day off to mow, it rains. If LC goes out we might lose him in the grass field. cheesy I have to wait a little longer to do my errands. In the mean time I am watching "The Real Story of Christmas" for the umpteenth time, I recorded it from History Channel last December, I love this one. I will have to play in the water in the basement again later.

Right until you told me I didn't even know about it. It is such a wonderful tale too. So much to gain in it. So last night we set up the props & costume groups, I am in the props group, I am super happy about that as I cannot sew worth a dime for sure! We have my Pastor (his name is John, in case I refer him by name & his wife's name is Donna, also his two older children help out Johnny & Nancy) They are going to look over the book and help reduce it - you know we have kids from the ages of 5 to 16 in this and we wanted to have in in the time frame of 2 hours. So, they will review and see where we can slim it a little. I have to say this has really made a stir, a lot of people are wanting to get envolved and I think this is what our Pastor wanted. One lady said it was nice to see we wanted to get all the kids into the play not just the same routine. We had a few grousers too but Pastor knows how to clam the waters. We escaped basement water from Irene, but I wonder if we'll get some from this week's rain because the ground is saturated. Our basement is usually dry, even when it rains heavily, but there's been an unusual amount of rain lately.

She's on high ground so she's okay. I have a great uncle that gets flooded easily though so he will probably have to move to high ground today.

I have always loved the name holidaysburg. It just has that festive ring to it. It's just a small town about 7 miles south of Altoona, PA.
 
Good chilly Thursday morning, Christmas family!

Serious trouble sleeping last night/this morning so I am going to crank some lively Christmas tunes to get myself motivated. "Santa Claus Is Coming to Town" - Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band's version is first up :dance:

Ugh, many moons ago I lived in a basement apartment, that is a bummer... I have an extra pair of "duckies" if you need!!!

Now there is a cool idea... My "duckies" to Xmas and my floaties to you!!! Now, if we can heat that indoor pool!!!!

Good Thursday morning, my Christmas friends!

Mrs. Hilda did well in her surgery, and she may be coming home today! Thank you all for the prayers and good thoughts!

Nancy had planned to spend the night in the hospital with her mother, but she started feeling very bad and had to come home. She was so upset with herself, feeling that she had let her mother down, even though her sister stayed. When she got home she cried & cried, till she cried herself to sleep. Bless her heart. With a good report from the hospital today, though, Nancy seems to be feeling better, too. She went back to the hospital in Savannah this morning to help bring her mom home.

I am bogged down here at work, so I better get on it. I hope y'all have a great day! cheesy
