Word of warning to anyone with small children.

My granddaughter had to go to the hospital last night because a tv set fell on her. She is ok and very silly and happy today! THANK GOD!

My 2 year old granddaughter tried to climb up a dresser in her brother's room to turn on the tv and it came down on her pinning her leg down. It also caught her eye which is swelled up today. It happened so fast, her dad was in the same room with her picking clothes up to be washed.

My daughter was crying last night and said they thought that tv was stable enough on the dresser. She said the tv is sitting on the floor now! She also checked all over the house for anything else that needed to be anchored or moved.

I did not sleep well at all last night thinking what "could" have happened. It's so good to see her today happy and smiling!

Please!!! If anyone has one of those old tv sets on something unstable remove it and keep it on the floor! Kids can die from this and my granddaughter is VERY LUCKY! When my kids were little their tv stayed on the floor because I feared this very same thing.
Wow, that's scary! My cousin's daughter somehow pulled a grandfather clock over on top of herself when she was very small. It almost killed her. She spent a couple weeks in the hospital, and she's fine today, but it was terrifying!

I'm so glad your granddaughter is ok!

A restful day here so far, I do have to pick up the boys in a few minutes. It is raining here now, with a cold front moving through later, tomorrow will be a good day to pop a pot roast into the crock pot and let it cook all day. mmmmmm.

I must go pick up the children.

Have a great afternoon.

Good morning, everyone!
It's a little above 50 degrees here today. It's really weird, because just a week ago we were in the 80s! Fall is definitely in the air :)
Have a good day!
Now that's nice! It was 95° when I got back from lunch, but it's supposed to get into the low 80's this weekend!

yes, things can happen fast when kids are around! So glad she OK.
Forget that what could have happened stuff, it only stress's you out and it did not happen so why take that trip?
I was told once to get down on my hands and knees and see the house from their point of view...what a difference that made! Amazing what you see from there.
My daughter climed up a dresser at that age too, when it fell over, the bottom drower came out and kept it from actually falling on her. She never again tried to do that!
I agree and I hate when I take that trip!

Good idea to look at the house like that. I will pass that along to my daughter.

I am glad your daughter didn't get hurt when the dresser fell over.

That is frightening! So glad to hear she is good now!

Happy Thursday, everyone! I'm coming up on my 2000th post, and I thought I'd stop in to celebrate. I'm also celebrating having the day off of work tomorrow. Now there's something to cheer about!

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!! :playing: Wooo Hoooo!!!!

Wacky weather here---we had a drenching downpour, and the sun crept out during part of it.

Somewhere in the past couple days, I passed 2,500 posts and didn't notice. I don't talk much. It took me a few years to get there.

GOOD FOR YOU MERRY

Good afternoon, Christmas family!

It is a nice, cool day today. I did not get much sleep last night so I am going to take a nap. I think I have free Hallmark and Hallmark Channel for the next 30 days or so - I really hope they show a Christmas movie or two!

Have a merry evening!

I got 5 more christmas gifts bought this morning. I bought my mom 2 shirts at Fashion bug and then I ordered 3 lego sets on walmart's website for my nephew in washington. The best part was the legos were cheaper online and had free shipping. I'm still behind where I would like to be but I am slowly getting caught up. Now I am off to listen to some christmas music while I do some cleaning.

I love getting Christmas gifts purchased, especially since its early in the season (for most people)

I went to BJ's wholesale club on my lunch break. They finally had my caramel apples in ( I have been checking the past few weeks) and they had Christmas stuff out/up! I was sooooo excited. They have some really beautiful pre lit wreaths, garland and centerpieces. My Birthday is coming up so I told my Hubby I wanted him to pick me out some of that stuff for my Birthday present :-D

Strange how different our weather is to be "just up the road a piece". LOL It's around 77° here and supposed to only be a high of 72° tomorrow! I love it! :)
That's weird, for sure. I just got back from picking up my kids at school, and it was 96°.

oh man Brad! I guess its going another year of upper 90's until october or heaven forbid november for us is south Ga....it's amazing how different North Ga and south Ga temps are...on any given day it could be 20 degreees cooler up north... Since I have moved to south ga,I get worried this time every year because it seeems the 90's will never ever go away, but I have always been pleasantly surprised in october and especially november. But this year really has me conscerned because of the weather pattern setting up! I guess I need to chill and just begin to worry if by this time next month it's still uup in the 90's!

OMG, I'm SO glad she's okay!!! How scary that must've been!!!

Oooo. The Yorktowne looks gorgeous!!!

Thank you! I've loved it since I went to a family friend's wedding there back in June 2002. It's just amazing everything that's included with the price, and I love the vintage 1920's look they have. Will definitely go with the tux Travis is getting, and it may just influence what I wear as well! :)

Congrats! That is great news! It just seems like I got married yesterday! We actually watched our wedding video Sunday night after getting home from the wedding we went to this wedding because we had so much fun and wanted to see how much everyone has changed over 3 years. It was truly amazing to see it and a blast to watch. That is one word off advice I will give you - make sure you get a videographer. You will never regret having a wedding video!

We actually hadn't thought about a videographer, but definitely will consider it now. Thank you!

OK, let me say LOVE IT!!!! What a beautiful place for a wedding! I love the gold plates, and the tea lights are so romantic... Ahhhh, it is so nice I am so happy for you... Don't you just love weddings!!!

YES I DO!!!! I'm actually surprised I'm not a wedding planner by this point, but after my wedding, I very well may be!!

that places looks beautiful!
To bad you do not live closer, would love to do your cake for you!

Oh Christmasstar...I don't think you realize how much I love your cakes!! Is there nothing I could do to convince you to vacation to PA around September 21 of next year? =)

tomorrow will be a good day to pop a pot roast into the crock pot and let it cook all day. mmmmmm.

Dinner at xmas's place tonight!!!! :D

Hello all. =)

I forgot to mention in my post yesterday that my Kohl's store put up our Christmas Shop on Tuesday! I've been looking around and trying not to buy (doing well on that front so far!) but they've got some great stuff! I'll be working at Hallmark tonight for the first time in 3 weeks, so I'll get to see if they have any other Christmas stuff out other than ornaments at this point! I know it's going to be really bad for me at Kohl's next weekend...we have an extra associate discount and I know the Christmas Shop will be begging me to buy something, lol!

Anyway, off to Hallmark...have a great night, everyone! (I wanted to find a penguin smiley to put here, but I can't find one! Sadness!)

MEGA POST #2

Word of warning to anyone with small children.

My granddaughter had to go to the hospital last night because a tv set fell on her. She is ok and very silly and happy today! THANK GOD!
.

Glad to hear she is okay!! Poor little girl..

Travis and I also went to visit a second ceremony/reception venue Monday. It was a great place, very modern and unique, but at $135/plate, it was just SO far off from our budget. We went back to the first place we visited today and brought along both sets of parents. We were afraid that the price ($67.50/plate) would still be a little high for them, but everyone loved it and we think we're going to book it. It's...surreal to think we're actually going to book a place to get MARRIED!!! We still have a week to think it over, but we're almost positive this is what we're going to do. Especially since the parents are all on board...it just makes it so much easier! We don't even know yet if we're going to have any financial help. but we can afford it so I guess that's all that matters, right? :) If anyone wants to see what it looks like, here's the website: http://yorktowne.com :)

Time for bed - goodnight everyone!

Wow! Yorktowne is Beautiful!

We may get our first frost tonight!!!!!!!

YESSSS!!! Woohoo! I want snow and frost and ice...and all that magical winter stuff! hahaha

I almost forgot to say I finally hit 5000 posts!!!!!!!!!

Congrats!

Happy Thursday, everyone! I'm coming up on my 2000th post, and I thought I'd stop in to celebrate. I'm also celebrating having the day off of work tomorrow. Now there's something to cheer about!

Congrats!
