Well we (me and my little family) are back from THE BEST VACATION EVER!!! We got in late Saturday night and spent Sunday running around to the market, dry cleaners, etc. Also, doing laundry and unpacking! Yes, it went by too fast, but that is what happens when you have a great time... Maine was beautiful, the weather was perfect (although a little warm even by their standards in the mid to high 70's during the day). I will post some pictures. I see a lot has gone on, I am glad that everyone is starting to feel better and GABulldawg is on his way back home, AWESOME!!! I am glad Britt got the job, even part time, you have your foot in the door!!! Good luck Brent, I sure hope you get that position.
So, we stayed at a cabin at Hall Quarry Mt. Desert Maine, PERFECT, I have stayed in cabins throughout NY, but this was perfect, the place was so clean, and they allowed dogs/cats/birds/ and yes even children!!! (tee hee) But, let me say the owners were terrific, we already booked it for next year!!! It is located off Somes Sound, and the view of the lobster boats coming in at night with the mountains in the back was just so breath taking. I will post some pictures. We spent our time in Acadia National Park, we did several hikes but with only being there a week could not do the entire park, we are planning next years hikes already!!! We did the Gorham MT hike, the Sargent MT hike, Cadillac MT (South Ridge) hike, and Dorr MT hike. We did a few level hikes too, we did the Ocean Path, Stratheden, Jordan Pond, Heriman, and a few others. We also did the Krik Dedrich Climb. We brought our dog Snickers on ever single climb, she was like the acting Mayor of Acadia, everyone loved her and her little pack, people were petting her and she was loving every minute of it, what a HAM-BONE!!! We spent the nights around a camp fire or the fire place (there wasn't any TV at the cabin and you would be surprised at this but neither of us missed it). We grilled dinner a few nights and because it was SO cheep had lobster 3 nights!!! I went to - yes count this - 3 different Christmas Shoppes, and at one of them they weren't playing Christmas music, when I asked why not, they said people complain!!! I was like but it is a CHRISTMAS STORE!!!! Whatever I will never get some people and I really don't want to get them, their loss really. So, I didn't buy anything there and when she asked me why I told her you don't play Christmas Music, the other two stores do, and well really what is a Christmas Store without the Christmas Music, I feel you are just after my money not the real reason, I realize your in business but it is too awful that you don't play some music mixed with other types. I did buy some stuff at the other two stores, I will take picture and post them as well too. It was so beautiful there this time of year, I wish you all could have been there too. Sometimes I would look out and just wonder how over 100 years ago they saw the need to preserve this land, and thanked God they actually did, thanks for letting me tell you all about it, I missed posting and MMC.
I am still trying to catch up on the posts, whew!!! There were a lot and I LOVE it we passed 20,000 - CONGRATS MADE!!!!
