Yeah, I think that is how it happens right!!! I am glad things are working out for you.

Thank- you so much!! and.. Something about the last part of your post kinda rubbed me the wrong way.. WHY on earth.. did the store clerk ask you why you didnt buy anything!!!!!!.. It might just be me.. but I find that kind of rude.

Yeah, I didn't think about that at the time but it was rude wasn't it, now I am really glad I didn't buy from them!

We spent the nights around a camp fire or the fire place (there wasn't any TV at the cabin and you would be surprised at this but neither of us missed it).

That sounds so lovely!
I haven't bought programming for the satellite dish in over two years so the only channels I get are the free ones. Rarely is there anything on that I want to watch - I have been reading over a hundred books a year now, though

I'd cry if I had to turn down a job at Starbucks, esp. if you get all the free coffee you want to drink. On second thought, I'd make it work somehow - who needs sleep anyways?

Hope you have a good first night back! Those are always the hardest after being off for any length of time!

Thanks! It was actually a great first night back. It was like I hadn't left at all...haha. It wasn't too bad - the new stuff we got on the computers as far as the computer charting went came back to me very quickly. It was nice too because it wasn't super busy last night and I had time to actually sit and look at the stuff!

Good morning my Christmas family!
Well I start a new shift today. 7am-4pm with weekends off. Now an update on my TD job interview. I have the final on Wednesday at 4:30pm. Ill let you guys know!!!! Now gather round everyone. PICTURE time!

Sounds great! Congrats!

We had a Kohls store open yesterday 20 minutes from our house...SO EXCITED! My sis & I went & we both bought the Kohls Cares Christmas cd. I think I'm going to like it. I listened to the 1st few songs. Seems like a good one!

You're going to love having a Kohl's! One of the best stores out there!

Good morning! I actually did not get sick overnight and all day on sunday which is huge! I am starting to get optimistic about making a full recovery. still eating light foods which sucks of course but at least im not on iv anymore! and another big thing is it's my last day here!!!!!!! I am comin home to Ga tonight and I will be home in my own bed by tomorrow!! I have to go to the infirmary today to get some more antiboitics I did not get on friday. that is all that is on my to do list as I have already said my goodbye's to some folks here who I have become close to and packed my clothes....from what I hear we are still in the low90's in Ga so fall has not come yet to us,I think this weekend we are getting a front that will bring cooler temps which is right on schedule Sept is truly just another summer month for us! have a good day everyone and thanks to all who have kept me in your prayers, and Seawaters hopefully I will have made it home safely in 24 hours from now!!!

So glad to hear things are looking up as far as your health! I think you coming home will even make you feel better! Have safe travels and please check in when you get home!

Yes - thank goodness!

Bernie came to the store this morning, ready to work! He's finally well, so I left it with him.

So glad to hear Bernie is back to work and feeling better! Sound like you had a lovely day yesterday with your son!

Well we (me and my little family) are back from THE BEST VACATION EVER!!! We got in late Saturday night and spent Sunday running around to the market, dry cleaners, etc. Also, doing laundry and unpacking! Yes, it went by too fast, but that is what happens when you have a great time... Maine was beautiful, the weather was perfect (although a little warm even by their standards in the mid to high 70's during the day). I will post some pictures. I see a lot has gone on, I am glad that everyone is starting to feel better and GABulldawg is on his way back home, AWESOME!!! I am glad Britt got the job, even part time, you have your foot in the door!!! Good luck Brent, I sure hope you get that position.

So, we stayed at a cabin at Hall Quarry Mt. Desert Maine, PERFECT, I have stayed in cabins throughout NY, but this was perfect, the place was so clean, and they allowed dogs/cats/birds/ and yes even children!!! (tee hee) But, let me say the owners were terrific, we already booked it for next year!!! It is located off Somes Sound, and the view of the lobster boats coming in at night with the mountains in the back was just so breath taking. I will post some pictures. We spent our time in Acadia National Park, we did several hikes but with only being there a week could not do the entire park, we are planning next years hikes already!!! We did the Gorham MT hike, the Sargent MT hike, Cadillac MT (South Ridge) hike, and Dorr MT hike. We did a few level hikes too, we did the Ocean Path, Stratheden, Jordan Pond, Heriman, and a few others. We also did the Krik Dedrich Climb. We brought our dog Snickers on ever single climb, she was like the acting Mayor of Acadia, everyone loved her and her little pack, people were petting her and she was loving every minute of it, what a HAM-BONE!!! We spent the nights around a camp fire or the fire place (there wasn't any TV at the cabin and you would be surprised at this but neither of us missed it). We grilled dinner a few nights and because it was SO cheep had lobster 3 nights!!! I went to - yes count this - 3 different Christmas Shoppes, and at one of them they weren't playing Christmas music, when I asked why not, they said people complain!!! I was like but it is a CHRISTMAS STORE!!!! Whatever I will never get some people and I really don't want to get them, their loss really. So, I didn't buy anything there and when she asked me why I told her you don't play Christmas Music, the other two stores do, and well really what is a Christmas Store without the Christmas Music, I feel you are just after my money not the real reason, I realize your in business but it is too awful that you don't play some music mixed with other types. I did buy some stuff at the other two stores, I will take picture and post them as well too. It was so beautiful there this time of year, I wish you all could have been there too. Sometimes I would look out and just wonder how over 100 years ago they saw the need to preserve this land, and thanked God they actually did, thanks for letting me tell you all about it, I missed posting and MMC.

I am still trying to catch up on the posts, whew!!! There were a lot and I LOVE it we passed 20,000 - CONGRATS MADE!!!!

You're vacation sounded beautiful! I am glad you had a lot of fun and you're looking foward to going back next year already! Can't wait to see the pictures!

Congratulations to Christmasstar on being the September Member of the Month!

Congrats! It's so well deserved, Christmasstar!

Cute alert!! Kitten!! Wish I could cuddle her ...

Hi everyone! Checking in for the day. I'm not sure if I will get to later or not. My first night back to work last night wasn't bad at all! It was like I never even left. Same crap, different day - haha. All the gossip and drama never ends! Anyway, I was able to catch right back on very quickly, thank goodness. Also, it made it nice because it wasn't really that busy and I was able to ask questions if I needed to.

As for today, I slept for a 5 1/2 to 6 hours (working nights I never sleep as much as I do at night). I get more sleep then a lot of my co-workers do though - some of them only sleep 3 or 4 hours. I don't know how they do it! DH is working tonight as well - when he works his 2 night shifts, they work 14 hours, so he goes in at 4:30p and will be home tomorrow morning around 7a. My dear sister has the pleasure when this occurs of watching the kids for us. She works daylight mosts days as well (God Bless her), so hopefully they sleep okay. She won't except money for watching, which I know most family members don't, so I always take her out to eat on the nights she watches them. She at leasts lets me do that. I'm not sure where we're going yet. I am waiting for her to get off work and get here.

Well folks, just wanted to stop and say hello. I will try to check back in before I head to work at 11. Everyone have a great evening! If I don't talk to you all tonight, talk to you tomorrow!

Great to hear that you're feeling better and even better to hear that you're on the way home. As an ex-Navy nuke of eight years, I remember the shear joy of coming home again after being gone a long time. The only other feeling that comes close is Christmas morning, especially as a kid. Welcome home a day early and thank you so much for your service - you make us all proud!

Congrats on another job offer - even if you need to turn it down it's nice to know that everyone wants you. Too bad it didn't come a week earlier so that you could've decided between the two. Binger will think that you made a grave mistake turning down a job offer from Starbucks!

I forgot to mention in my post yesterday that I saw an eagle fly overhead -about fifteen feet above me - breathtaking!

I love to watch eagles soar! When we lived in BC it was one of my favorite pastimes.
Once when the kids were small we were at a local playground and an eagle dropped a salmon in the middle of everyone (one one was hit)
The kids were fascinated and still talk about it. We were close to the Fraser river in Prince George at the time.

Good morning, everyone!
A beautiful "Fall" morning here in Ottawa. Temperatures were in the mid-to-upper 50s for my bike to the tennis club. Upon my leaving in the next hour and a half, they will probably be in the mid-70s. Only five more days until October and temperatures are feeling like late August/early September!

Good afternoon, everyone! The sun finally came out this morning, and it's a (very un-Autumn-like) 79 degrees. Please, someone, send us some cool weather!

it was just as warm in Toronto today.Right now it has also gotten muggy.

I am glad you are on your way home, have a safe trip. See you next time in the States!

A bright, warm Monday here. A bit too warm ... the humidity has been awful. It's too sticky here for September-soon-to-be-October! I'm at my desk, semi-awake, next on the agenda is probably a strong cup of tea.

You are right, we are still using our AC, just a few days away from October, there have been many times we have had our heat on by now, but never AC this late until this year.

Glad you had a great time, and welcome home. That is so ridiculous about the lack of Christmas music in the store. You shop in a store that specializes in Christmas and people complain about Christmas music. I just don't get people.

baking bread, but I do not think it is going to turn out very good. My machine decicde to pop a clamp ring on one of my paddles so I had to stop it and fix it, loosing some of the ingrediants. Then I decided I should take it out of the machine and bake it in a pan instead, only did not realise it started baking already and burned my fingers. Well, now it is in the oven baking, so we will see what happens.
