TGIF and almost Nov!!
Started some shopping last week and will do a bit more this weekend.

Soon the malls will start decorating and the Xmas season is right around the corner and the airwaves will be filled with the sounds of the holidays.

Can't wait!!

Have a super weekend all!!

ML

I didn't realize this.... 2,000 posts!! It only took me a 3 years and 1 month to accomplish. But, I guess it is more like 2 years and four months because I never really started posting until July of 2009. Either way, I am now at 2,000! My goal for the month has been reached!

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!

I just woke up this morning to learn we under a winter storm watch for Saturday into Sunday, they say we may get 5-8 inches in an October storm.

I'm Jealous!!!!!

Good Morning! TGIF! I can't say that loud enough. I especially can't wait for 3pm today. I just hope today is not too bad at work, and it should not be,it's monday that is going to be Murder! Have a great morning everyone!

I hope you have an easy day friend!!!!!!

Bon Matin, Mes Amis.

<< Oh, Morticia. You know speaking French drives me wild! >>

And what else is wild?
What's happening to our count, that's what:

Days to Halloween: 3 (UNDER half a week, now! Ooooooo!)
Days to the Season: 16 (TWO WEEKS from the day after tomorrow!)
Days to Christmas Day: 58 (CLOSING IN on 8 weeks!)
Frightening!

Fifty-five degrees here this morning in the capital city with rain pending for this afternoon and tomorrow, followed by noticeably colder weather.
Oh, well. A chill is appropriate for Halloween!

You have a Fabulous Friday, Friends.
And may your Weekend kick-off be returned for a touchdown!

Good Morning Everyone!!!!!!!!!!! It's going to be a cool one here in central Indy. We're currently sitting at 38 degrees on our way to 54. I'm feeling better today so I'm going to do some christmas shopping. I also need to stop by the grocery store. I hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am such a procrastinator. I have put off doing something I hate at work all week, now it's friday and I have no choice. It has to be done, funny thing is it won't take more than 30 minutes. Life is funny when I first started my career I thought it would be great to be a supervisor and be your own boss. When in reality there is no such thing, now I would liketo be a new guyon the front lines of the action!!!instead of stuck with paperwork.

It's lunchtime and I am skipping eating but I did bring a pepsi to drink. I will be bouncing off the roof now. I am grilling burgers and fries tonight so I want to be hungry,I know you should not skip meals but sometimes I feel better at work if I am hungry. I can't believe the weather. It's so warm here today, and everyone in the mid atlantic and new England are getting thier first real snow!!! I hate living here sometimes. BUt I am grateful the fall color is still pretty here,I was worried our leaves would be hit hard by the drought but all of a sudden they started changing in the last week so It will be very nice this weekend with temp's in the low 40's at night and 60's during the day. Today should be the last of the 80's for a while..maybe march!

Riding out Friday, waiting for the weekend to start! Happy Friday and Happy Halloween Weekend to everyone!

Once again for the third week in a row there is mandatory extra work time being requested by my company. I just cannot face ANOTHER weekend with only one full day off. I wrote them and told them I couldn't do it. I am greatful to have my job but am I wrong for refusing to work the third weekend in a row ?? And seems they have limited how much radiology I get to do now so a lot of it is back to the ESL /bad dictators.

Is there any way to determine whether this is just a busy spell, or whether they will be expecting weekend work frequently? If it's just a busy spell you might be able to ride it out. I hope things improve soon on the work front. Boo to the goobers!

I just woke up this morning to learn we under a winter storm watch for Saturday into Sunday, they say we may get 5-8 inches in an October storm.

MerryCarey I think it stretches all the way into your part of the state too.

I'm Jealous!!!!!

Ooh, I'll have to keep an eye on the forecast ... I've got an appointment on the North Shore tomorrow afternoon, so I'd like to get home before the snow gets going good.

Made, don't be too jealous, 'cause it's supposed to be heavy, wet, sticky, and messy and is expected to cause a slew of power outages because the leaves haven't all fallen yet, so it could bring down a lot of trees and power lines. You can envy us when we get some nice, fluffy snow!

I'm on my third day in bed after a surgery at Wednesday..
Surf, sleep, read, listening to Christmas music (medicine)..

Speedy recovery, Solice! Enjoy your recuperation!

you made the news here, it is snowing really nicely!

We only got a dusting (if you can call wet, sticky stuff a dusting!), and the roads were an icy mess until the sun came up. It all starts over again!

It sounds like you're going to have a fun time as well! We actually decided to not take the kids out. The temp keep dropping. It's in the low 40's and still raining slightly and just too cold to take them out. EA is still too little to really know what is going on anyway, so she is greeting the trick-or-treaters as they come by and they both still have their costumes on. We're still going to watch Charlie Brown too before I lay down this evening. It's a nice night in for our family. Have a nice time with our festivities!

Too bad about the weather last night, but it sounds like you & your family had a great night in! I bet the kids enjoyed seeing the other trick-or-treaters costumes!! Did you get lots of them? We stayed in & watched Charlie Brown, too- what a classic!

Unfortunately I dont but if you google them you will find plenty of sites that sell them. I would also check out places like michaels and ac moore too.

Thanks, Minta! Yes, I plan to go browsing @ town this weekend in search of some battery operated lights. If I don't find any, I'll pick some out online :) Hope you have a nice weekend!

Good evening,

The drive home was a festive one, big flakes floating down from the sky, I got home and made a snowball to bring inside for my wife, her response: "I hate snow!" It looks very beautiful out right now, it will probably be gone after the sun comes up, just a sampler of whats to come. Inventory went well, I was training someone how to do it, he has some work to do. It's tough counting in the freezer when there is 2 tons of turkeys in there. I have to be back there bright and early.

Ahh, I bet it's beautiful there!! Thanks for posting the video- I watched it twice this morning while having some coffee- perfect way to start the weekend!!

[youtube_browser]2YWfZpaLhHY[/youtube_browser]

Have a great night!

We don't have any big plans this year...our friends that normally throw the party aren't doing it this year since the wife is finally pregnant (the one I mentioned a few weeks back), but we might still go over and help them hand out candy on trick-or-treat night. Other than that, I might wear pj's, a robe, and hair rollers to work on Monday for costume day. Maybe, we shall see. =)

That sounds like a great costume! Don't forget fuzzy slippers!
I was out looking at a local year-round Halloween costume shop in town, and saw the perfect redneck one. It was a big-haired blonde wig with beer cans sticking out of it, and straws coming out of them & heading toward the face. Was going to get it, but it was ridiculously expensive. It would've been perfect with a white tank top, ripped up jeans, high heels, and a flannel or something!

Let me know how PA3 is! I was forced to watch 1 and 2 while we stayed with our friends in Florida and oh my goodness I was scared out of my mind! I don't know if I wanna be that scared again! lol

They scared me too! Loved them! I'll let you know how it compares, hopefully the backstory explains a lot of the unanswered questions.
:zombie:

Good evening,Christmas family

Nothing really going on here. I am dead tired (how fitting for Halloween !!)

I am a tad down tonight so I think I am going to turn in. Got my Wish here and he is ready to snuggle - that is a good thing !! In fact, the best part of my day so far. Third Day played very near where I live tonight and I couldn't go see them. I guess I will never get to see them live. Oh well...

I hope all are well xo

Sabine- I never congratulated you on getting your apartment !! Good for you !! xo

Snowangelx3 - Praying for your Louie xo

Snowflake and Sugar - Thinking of Harlowe and Ella xo

Lauriebear - ((HUGS)) to Snickers too !! xo

Meceka - ((HUGS)) to you and Mouse, Palmer, Bo and all xoxo

Goodnight dear Christmas family ((((HUGS))) to you all xo

Sorry to hear that you are feeling down, CM3. You have every right to feel the way you do, 3 weekends in a row is overkill & too much to ask of anyone. Have they responded to you, yet? Good luck, let us know how it goes. You need to get out & do something fun to bring a smile to your face! Sending big hugs to you from me, and puppy kisses from Harlowe!
XO

Hi every one! today my parents are coming over for dinner and coming to see our new house, so i should get some cleaning done, but first more studying, i'm actually a bit stressed, since 10 november will be an exam and i have an essay to rewrite, so getting nervous, but i shouldn't, i know i can do this...!

Good luck with your studies! You CAN do it! And enjoy dinner with your parents!! You must be so excited to give them the grand tour =)

I was able to watch Charlie Brown last night--YAY!!!

Unfortunately, I have to go to LabCorp this morning (fasting, of course) so I have to leave soon to (hopefully) be one of the first people there.

::sighs:: I am so glad it's almost the weekend it's not even funny.

Hope everything went well this morning! I have to go next week, too.
Hope you had a big, yummy breakfast afterwards! And yes, I agree, TGIF!!!

Hello Christmas family! i've really missed ya'll. been catching up on the thread & everyone is sooo busy. i just had to post before going to work this morning. we've been very busy @ work getting out all our Christmas decor. now if we could sale half of it that would be great.
my mama is about to go stir crazy just sitting around w/ her broken foot. that's not her speed. drama w/ my nephew that lives there. all i'll say is drugs are a bad, very bad thing. but as i said before i just pick & choose the situations i allow myself to get involved w/. if i didn't i would be nuts by now. as long as my parents aren't harmed in any way, shape, or form, i'm good. tried countless X's before to help him & unless they want it-it ain't gonna happen.
daughter is driving more now (she has her learners permit). i get so nervous riding w/ her. her dad is much more suited for that but he's working so many hours he just doesn't have time. maybe this weekend....
listening to my furbabies playing behind me right now, they get carried away @ times.
i've got some arthritis & unfortunately have put back on all the weight i had lost (35lbs.). i know, not good @ all, w/ all the physical work we're doing right now it has taken a toll on my body. constantly aching & sore. i'm just so nervous about trying to lose it now w/ the holidays just around the corner. ya' know, i don't want to miss nothing.lol.
sorry so long but like i said i've really missed ya'll!! TGIF-woohoo

Hope your Mom is hanging in & doing well, merrymistletoe! And I hope you're feeling better soon, sounds like your body needs some rest.
Sorry, but I have to laugh about your daughter & her permit. It reminds me of how nervous my parent's were when they had to take me driving! My Mom finally handed that responsibility over to my Dad! lol! He used to take me in the back area of the hospital or church parking lot, where there was a lot of room for error! Ha!
Anyways, I hope you have a nice weekend! Hugs to you & your furbabies!

Good morning!

There is a heavy frost on the ground and I had to crank the furnace up to 75 to warm the house up for Mouse and Palmer. Mouse woke me up at 4 - not sure what she wanted, but she was sure vocal about it! I did fall back asleep, though - yay me!!!!!

I have to work today - from home - so I am going to listen to Chris Isaak's latest and then put Michael Buble's Christmas on repeat - I think it will be a good day

I wish you all a MERRY day!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like a great day to me, Meceka! Enjoy! Hugs to you, Mouse, and Palmer!

Happy to hear you're feeling better, made! Have fun Christmas shopping!

Good morning to you, Christmas family!!

Thank God It's Friday!!!

I was working on a mega post earlier this morning, had spent about a half hour on it, then I hit the Back key, and lost it all. Can you say frustrating?! Sheesh! Anyways, I think I'm caught up for now :)

I hope you all have a GREAT, HALLOWEEN-Y weekend! :boo:

I was the second person at LabCorp so that was good. Blood work was fine but, unfortunately, the needle had to go into my hand (just a bit below my left pinky knuckle). That bugger HURT!

Anyway, since I got to work so early (6:45) I get to leave early (3:15) so this day is more than half-way DONE!

I'm seriously considering taking a nap when I get home this afternoon and, like gabulldawg, I'm happy that today is the last day where we have highs in the 80s. I want sweater weather!

Oh CM3, that sucks. Maybe like MerryCarey said, it's just a busy spell. I know at Kohl's we have to limit supervisors' every other weekend schedule from Black Friday until January 1, so maybe it's just something temporary like that. I think it's good though that you're saying something to them because then you get an answer straight from the horses mouth!

Oh I definitely have fuzzy slippers - Penn State ones at that! I will be wearing those, definitely! =) The redneck costume sounds awesome, it sucks it was so expensive! Hope you enjoy the movie!

Hello Christmas family!

What a crazy week it's been! My first full week back was definitely busy but I felt so productive - something I don't always feel. My boss still has a way of making me feel less than dirt though, while making everyone else feel like they're doing well. I think part of it just may be the way I view things, but...I don't know. Like DF says, maybe just throw a little of her attitude back at her and see if she notices (it's very different from the fun, lighthearted attitude I normally have). But I'm not sure if that's good advice, because I'm a subordinate and I don't know if that's the right way to go about things. I'm sorry for airing work grievances here but it's just been on my mind constantly in the 2 hours since I've been home from work. Sigh.

Also, on another work related note, our Kohl's, and I believe all Kohl's nationwide, are opening Black Friday at MIDNIGHT, meaning we will be open for 24 straight hours. Now, I enjoy Christmas as much if not more than anyone else, but this is madness. No one in my store is happy about this at all. Why can't retail stores open at a more normal hour...like I dunno...6am? All I ask of you is please, PLEASE be nice to the store associates that you encounter on Black Friday, especially if it's at a place that opened at midnight or even on Thanksgiving itself. They are probably having to completely rearrange Thanksgiving plans with family and friends (like I have to) to be there and work. DF's family is being extremely sweet in moving Thanksgiving dinner up to 11am so I have a chance to attend and eat before having to go to sleep and be in at work at 10pm Thanksgiving night (and they are also inviting my family over so we don't have to do 2 dinners in one day like we have been). I'm still angry at having to miss socializing, playing games, and watching football, which is a tradition I've gotten used to (not to mention watching Christmas Vacation, which is something I haven't missed out on since the movie came out in 1989). So please, I beg all of you, please be nice to your Black Friday workers if you will be shopping! Even if just for me. :)

Other than work, and forgetting to take pictures at both jobs to share here and on the Blossoms thread - argh, nothing has really been up. No work on the wedding front yet...will probably get back to that next week. And the big news here is that PA (at least my part) is forecasted to get 2-6 inches of snow on Saturday! It is toooooooo early for snow for me!! I don't have new tires or brakes yet (was going to get them next week) so I definitely won't be driving in it, and I'm still not ready for the bone-chilling cold that accompanies snow! I want one more month of mildly cool weather, please! lol

Have a great Halloween weekend everyone, and I'm sorry if this post got a little whiney/complainy!! I promise no more anytime soon!!

I feel you VSU!!! I use to do the retail thing in high school, and it made me absoulutly start hating the holidays...and I hated that. I worked cash register and we had lines to the back of the store and some ppl would be so rude...I almost walked out every day from black friday until Jan1st. I simply can't handle that.. I promise I always am nice to store associates especially now when I walk in and there are 1(one) store associate in an entire store doing everything at once..at least back in the heydays of the 90's we had multiple Associates on the floor. And don't get me started on stores opening at midnight...bad economy or not I think that is just plain wrong.! As for your boss I don't know what to tell you because I have the same situation...sometimes you just have to grin and bear it,because it may make it worse...but some times its so hard...I hope it gets better though..try not to think about it! I know that is much easier said than done.!
