Ah yes.....visions of coffee pots filled their heads!
And Mama in her kercief, and I in my cap,
Had just settlled our brains for a long winter's nap....
(Hey who would have guessed Crown and Binger were the inspirations for "Twas the Night Before Christmas") LOL

:tree:

Ah! The mystery twins have a Christmas connection!
I like that.

76 days to the Season.
118 days to Christmas Day.

We had temps in the lower 90's for a change yesterday.
Felt a bit more comfortable.
I saw Bing roasting coffee beans outside for a change.
(Better hammock weather, too.)

Have a Wonderful Wednesday / Happy Hump Day, everyone!
Keep up that Christmas spirit. The Season will be here before you know it!

The Shirelles...my fav girl group of all time.

Good Morning Everyone !!!

"76 days to the Season. 118 days to Christmas Day. "
Wow,it's getting closer. My local Walgreens has their Halloween stuff out now, and some Christmas deco out but up on top of the top shelves of the back row.

Coffee just beeped, I'll be right back.

I'm back, coffee in hand.

Cedar - The Shirelles? One fine day? My boyfriend's back? Mama said? Please Mr. postman? Will you still love me tomorrow? That brings back some old memories. Your not old enough to remember them, I'm sure you just heard of them somewhere.

Sparkle - That's the way I remember it too. Maybe Binger can do an opera to that theme. The night coffee before Christmas?

Keeping in the flavor of old groups. They still sound good today.
Suggested song of the day: Ronettes - Sleigh Ride

Hmm......
How about "Coffee perking on an open fire"?

Elf Control - ha Jay!

 How I survived Hump Day in four steps
Woke up
Stayed awake
Breathed in
Breathed out.

This week is flying by - guess that means Christmas is on the way.
So many people getting their kids ready for "back to school" and a few counting down the days until school starts and then I hit them with the countdown to Christmas, plus a wake up.

A few groans as usual and new staff actually wanted to meet the Christmas Wacko who posted the countdown on the bulletin board for everyone to see.

Charmed I'm sure.

:hello: So, there I was minding my own business . . . a friend dropped off a few videos for me. Among them, The Flinstones version of A Christmas Carol and Jim Carrey's "Grinch".

I snuck them in for future viewing, my hubbins doesn't even know they're here. HaHa. What a festive long Labor Day weekend I have planned. HaHaHoHoHeHe.

Iron, The Shirelles were before my time but my older sister had their album(s) and I watched her dance to them in front of the mirror! They had so many hits...Soldier Boy, Mama Said, Foolish Little Girl, Dedicated to the One I Love, Will you Love Me Tomorrow and my personal favorite, "Baby, It's You"...hmmmm, great song. A Bacharach tune...if I like the song, it is usually written by Burt Bacharach. I think The Shirelles had a sound none of the other girl groups had. I wonder if they did any Christmas songs?

Auntie, I'm still laughing at the comment made by your husband a couple weeks ago...."Crispness"...in the air" and you thought he said something about... Christmas. hahahee

Where on earth....is....Norfolk?

Good Morning Everyone !!!

Cedar - I remember hearing The Shirelles on the car radio when I was a kid, and it was my Mom that was dancing around the house to them. I still like to hear them on the oldies radio station.

Today is my day off sooooooo, I think I may watch a Christmas video while everyone is at work.

A song for today: Phillips, Craig & Dean - O Come O Come Emanuel

Later, my friends.

Hello Friends...

Very scary morning. Woke up to the smell (actually, stench is the word...electrical ) of smoke in the house, seems the sump pump switch never turned off even though the water had drained, the switch was in the process of burning itself out. The smoke alarm didn't go off either! All this on a morning when I have to leave early and stay late!! Oh heck, could be worst...

True. It could have been burned coffee, in which case Binger would have been MOST upset.
Seriously, I'm glad there was no fire!

75 days to the Season.
117 days to Christmas Day. (Not so far from the 100-day mark!)

Good Morning, Christmas friends.

It's a bit cloudy out. Maybe a touch of rain.
They still predict a nice weekend with highs in the mid 80's.

We are looking forward to the trip tomorrow afternoon.
When I return Tuesday, the count will have declined by 4 more days! WOW!

Have a Thrilling Thursday, all you wonderful folks!

44 days (or pots of coffee) until I graduate from grad school.
83 days until my lights come on.
116 days and a wake-up until the big day.

Now, if you REALLY want to feel like time is sneaking up on you how about this:

Only 8 more paydays until Christmas!

Goodmorning Everyone (again !)

Cedar - Oh what a scarey thing to wake up to. Thank God it was only a switch. You might check the pump out as well. If it ran all night without water, the pump bearings and seal maybe burned out. I don't even want to think about it being anything worse than that.

Martha K - Congratulations (44 days early, incase I forget) it's a wonderful accomplishment.
After putting my wife and oldest son through school, I look forward to retirement, then maybe I can finish my degree. Education is never wasted, even on an old guy like me.

Eight (pay) days until Christmas ??? Aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh! (Iron runs around the room, looking for his hat and coat). I better start Christmas shopping NOW.

I'm going shopping - Buy , buy!

Burning coffee? OMG Nooooo- only thing worse is a bed without a pillow- right Crown?

Glad you're ok Cedar....
XOXO

Jay- BRUCCCCEEEEEEE.. OMG Springsteen is God!

Well, I'm back from shopping. It's a little too early to get started. It just doesn't work without the deco.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a Good Night.

Burning coffee? OMG Nooooo- only thing worse is a bed without a pillow- right Crown?

Right, Binger.
WAIT! Are you saying there IS one kind of coffee you don't like??

74 days to the Season.
116 days to Christmas Day.

Well, the Crowns are off to the coast!
I hope everyone has a Fabulous Friday and a Wonderful Weekend!
Sounds like it will be a good one weather-wise, at least around here.

See you either Monday night or Tuesday morning!

A Jolly Good Friday to You!!

Have a wonderful time Crown. I'll do my best to provide an accurate countdown....I won't talk about Easter or say the word, "Groovy" too many times..

No stench or crickets this morning, the weather couldn't be better, in fact, our weatherman brought out his Weather Guarantee..bring him your best weather deal and try to match it with ours!

Have a SUPER lovely groovy day my friends...

Good Morning Everyone!

I hate Mondays, even when they're Fridays.

Last night after we got home from an early "Christmas" shopping trip, I had to go into the storage area to put something away. Sooooooo while we were there I couldn't resist taking out and plugging in a few of the Christmas decorations, since I had to move them out of the way anyway. My son and I enjoyed them, if only for a few moments. Mrs.Eagle just looked at us like "we'd lost it."

Suggested listening for today: Glenn Miller - There's No Place Like Home for the Holidays
